Roads closed for final race of Classic TT 2026

Roads have closed for a final time this race season on the Isle of Man as the 2026 Classic TT races come to an end.

The 37.7 mile (61km) Mountain Road was shut at 09:30 BST, with roads expected to reopen no later than 17:00.

The day's schedule includes the final race of the programme – the Senior Classic TT – followed by parade laps.

Racing in the Manx Grand Prix (MGP) and Classic TT, which run in parallel each August, was brought forward due to rain being forecast from Wednesday.

That has meant the 10-race programme, originally due to conclude on Friday, has been rescheduled to run over four consecutive days, from Saturday to Tuesday.

It comes after qualifying for the events was significantly disrupted by a combination of poor weather and red flag incidents.

Following the final race, Tuesday's first parade laps will feature vehicles from the 1996 era of TT racing and classic sidecar outfits.

The final lap of the event will celebrate 30 years of John McGuinness competing on the Mountain Course.

The Morecambe Missile, who made his debut at the June Isle of Man TT in 1996, has gone on to win 23 races at the same event, the last one in 2015.

On Monday, the 54-year-old took victory in this year's August event, for the first time since 2019, winning the Historic Senior Classic TT.

Meanwhile, the conclusion of the MGP on Monday afternoon, saw Johnny Stewart become the first rider to win all four races at the same meeting.

Over the weekend, the Scotsman added victory in the Senior MGP to his previous wins in the Junior, Supersport and Sportbike races.
