Two homes engulfed in flames after village fire

Two homes were engulfed in flames after a fire in a village.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said it was initially called to a fire at one home in Felsham Road, Cockfield at 20:56 BST on Wednesday but it spread to a neighbouring property and "both homes were fully alight".

Seven crews and several specialist vehicles were at the scene at the height of the blaze.

Occupants of both homes were accounted for and the fire was extinguished by 22:48, the fire service said.

UK Power Networks was asked to attend and police put a cordon in place overnight.
