Candidates standing for Arbory, Castletown and Malew
MANX SCENESSeven candidates have announced they will be standing in the Isle of Man's general election for the Arbory, Castletown and Malew constituency.
Set in the south of the island, the constituency takes in the island's ancient capital and boasts some of its richest heritage in the form of Castle Rushen, Rushen Abbey and the Old House of Keys.
It combines areas of high residency and a strong industrial presence – including Isle of Man Airport and Ronaldsway Met Office – with swathes of rural landscape surrounding the villages of Ballasalla and Colby.
The boundary reforms of 2016 saw the old constituency of Castletown merged with parts of the former Malew and Santon and Rushen voting areas.
Local authorities within the patch are the Arbory ward of Arbory and Rushen Commissioners as well as the boards of Castletown and Malew.
As of October 2025, there were 6,140 people registered to vote in the constituency, which according to the electoral commissions figures in 2023 has a population of 7,542.
Of the two MHKs who have represented the area for the past five years, Tim Glover, has decided not to seek re-election.
