Motorists are facing severe delays outside Edinburgh following a crash on the M8.

The incident, close to the eastbound junction one turnoff at Hermiston Gait, has caused nine miles of queues and delays of up to an hour.

Congestion has left traffic back up to M8 junction three at Livingston and junction 1B on the M9, while further delays have also been reported on the M90.

The Scottish Ambulance Service said two people had been treated at the scene and discharged. Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
