A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Nottingham.

Police said part of Wilkinson Street would be closed for some time after the incident, which happened at 14:45 BST on Thursday.

In a social media post at about 16:00, traffic control centre Nottingham Travelwise said the road was shut between Armstrong Way and Heslington Avenue.

Drivers have been advised to avoid the area.
