Boy in critical condition after incident at leisure centre

Emergency services were called to the leisure centre on Sunday

A boy is in a critical condition in hospital following an incident at a leisure centre in Staffordshire.

Emergency services were called to Burntwood Leisure Centre on High Street in Chasetown, at 13:08 BST on Sunday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance attended the scene. A boy was found in a critical condition and was given specialist trauma care before being taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The leisure centre is operated by LWM Traded Services Ltd, a company owned by Lichfield District Council. The BBC has approached Staffordshire Police and the district council for comment.
