Man seriously injured in crash on busy road

Police have closed a section of the A17 in both directions near Coddington after a crash involving a car and a lorry.

Officers were called to Beckingham Road, near the junction with Stapleford Lane, at about 10:45 BST on Thursday.

Nottinghamshire Police said a man had been taken to hospital with serious injuries, with the road "expected to be closed for some time while investigations take place".

Motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
