Students create sign to promote recycling message

Students have created new signage for a recycling centre using materials gathered from beaches, classrooms and homes.

Pupils from 17 schools across the island worked to create letters spelling "reduce reuse recycle" for La Collette Household Recycling Centre.

Infrastructure and Environment (I&E) said the letters on the side of the John Rive building were intended to reflect the types of waste islanders produce and reiterate the importance of responsible waste management.

Each school was responsible for designing one letter and I&E staff made a mosaic for the 18th letter from pottery and tiles deposited at the recycling centre, project leaders said.
