A gang who conspired to murder an 18-year-old man injured in a botched shooting have being jailed for life, with minimum terms of up to 22 years.

Mohammed Khan, Nicholas Buckley, Alyxander Fraser and Adam Bhayat were involved in the failed plot at a car park on Gosford Street, Coventry, on 12 September 2025.

The victim was targeted with a shotgun, which was fired at him at close range, and he suffered serious but non-fatal head injuries, West Midlands Police said.

The group were convicted of conspiracy to murder in May and were handed their sentences at Warwick Crown Court on 4 September.

According to police, the four met up on the day of the shooting before travelling towards the scene, with Bhayat driving Buckley and Fraser in the same car.

When they arrived at the car park, Buckley got out and fired the shotgun, before the trio fled in a stolen Volkswagen Golf, police said.

They later met up with Khan and stayed at his flat for the night before they went their separate ways the next morning.

A police spokesperson said it was "only the incompetence of the group that saved the victim's life".

They were identified and arrested after officers examined hours of CCTV footage from the area, the force added.
