Just over 10 years ago Leicester were lifting the Premier League trophy while Bromley finished 14th in the National League, 105 places below them in the football pyramid.

Tonight they meet for the first time ever, separated by just four points in League One.

Ravens boss Andy Woodman has overseen five wins and four draws in nine home games against relegated opponents since they joined the EFL in 2024 and has vowed to make things 'ugly and awkward' for the Foxes at Hayes Lane.

City got back to winning ways as Kamari Doyle netted the winner in a 2-1 success against Doncaster on Saturday and said the Foxes 'have to push on now.'

Despite their dismal end to the Championship season and torrid start under Russell Martin, Leicester have only lost one of their past 11 away league games, although eight of those have been draws.

  4. Terriers aim to keep home run goingpublished at 19:36 BST 20 October

    Huddersfield v Peterborough (19:45 BST)

Huddersfield will seek a win which could take them top of League One as they welcome Robbie Savage and Posh to town.

The Terriers have won at Burton and table-topping Plymouth, either side of a dramatic 2-2 draw at home to Sheffield Wednesday, to lie just a point off the summit.

Posh followed their 3-1 win at Leicester in Savage's first game with a 2-2 draw against Burton on Saturday to climb to 19th, but they have lost four of the past five against Huddersfield and have won on just one of their past seven visits.

Town have lost just once in 20 homes games overall, against Mansfield in April, and Martin Drury's (pictured) men will hope to steal a march on the sides above them before welcoming rock-bottom Wigan at the weekend.

  5. Owls a tough task as hosts bid to end losing runpublished at 19:34 BST 20 October

Notts County v Sheff Wed (19:45 BST)

    Martin PatersonImage source, Shutterstock

Notts County and Sheffield Wednesday head into their first league meeting in 14 years in starkly contrasting form.

The hosts have won only once in League One this season, back on 29 August, when they were in the midst of a promising start to the campaign. Martin Paterson's side were unbeaten in their opening five matches, earning creditable draws with the likes of Leicester, Luton and Huddersfield.

But since then it has all gone downhill as they have lost four in a row, scoring only once in those games, to drop to 23rd in the table.

Part of that downturn has been down to a lack of goals with only Wimbledon and bottom side Wigan having scored fewer than Notts County's eight.

Tonight's opponents have no such trouble hitting the back of the net, with the Owls coming into this contest on the back of a 5-0 win over Wimbledon at the weekend.

Henrik Pedersen's men are unbeaten in seven and have only tasted defeat once this season. Their fine run of form has seen them ascend to sixth spot, only two points behind leaders Bradford and they have played fewer games than the five teams above them.

So, the smart money is on Wednesday and it is up to the hosts to spring a surprise and get their season back on track.

Anyone got a small handkerchief we can borrow? You could throw it over the top of the League One table.

Just one point separates the top five sides in the third tier and any of SIX clubs could be at the summit come bedtime tonight.

Bradford head to Burton looking to keep their slender advantage, while second-placed Stockport are at Doncaster. Huddersfield welcome Peterborough, Plymouth visit Stevenage and fifth-placed Cambridge host Wycombe. Sheffield Wednesday are also within two points of the Bantams, in sixth, ahead of their game at Notts County.

It's almost as tight at the bottom as just two points separates the bottom eight sides.

Basement boys Wigan face a tough trip to Oxford, Bromley entertain Leicester, Barnsley will seek to stop the rot at Luton, and there's a big game between Blackpool, in 20th, and MK Dons, two places and one point better off.

    League Two

There are three teams who remain unbeaten in League Two as we near the end of October, and in Barnet and Crewe Alexandra, two of those outfits are looking to keep pace with Salford.

The Bees are just one point off the top spot and have two games in hand on the league leaders. They welcome Swindon Town, without a win in six, to The Hive this evening.

The Alex, meanwhile, are level on points with Barnet and make the journey south to rejuvenated Exeter City, who have claimed seven points from the last nine on offer.

Fifth-placed Walsall are the only other side yet to be defeated in League Two and they entertain Oldham Athletic, who ended a six-game winless streak at the weekend.

At the other end of the table, rock-bottom Crawley Town are in dire need of a positive result when they host mid-table Shrewsbury Town. Crawley are already five points adrift from safety having won only one league match so far this term.

In an impossibly tight division, just six points separate fourth-placed York City - who welcome Accrington Stanley tonight - and Alex Bruce's Rotherham United down in 23rd. The Millers host Newport County at the New York Stadium.

The picture is highly likely to change again by the close of play this evening.

  8. Gas aiming for reaction against rampant Salfordpublished at 19:28 BST 20 October

Bristol Rovers v Salford City (19:45 BST)

Bristol Rovers manager Steve EvansImage source, Shutterstock

Bristol Rovers welcome table-topping Salford City to the Memorial Stadium this evening looking to get back to winning ways following defeat by another high-flying team in Barnet in their most recent outing on home soil.

Steve Evans' Gas had previously put together a club-record 11 consecutive wins in front of their own supporters, spanning this season and last, but they have lost three league matches on the spin and were turned over 1-0 by nine-man Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

Salford, then, are perhaps not the ideal opponent when you are after a pick-me-up; the Ammies have put together an unbeaten run of eight league matches and they have won seven of those, including their past five outings.

Following a slow beginning to the season under Peter Cklamovski, Salford have clicked into gear since and head to the West Country boasting sky-high confidence levels.

The Millers come into tonight's match having lost three successive league matches.

It leaves them in the bottom two at the start of play tonight.

Writing in his programme notes, boss Alex Bruce expressed his thanks to the supporters for the patience they have shown his side so far this season, although he accepts things need to improve very soon.

"This was a group that was assembled late in the window and you have been gracious as supporters to afford us the patience that we need to come together as a team," he said.

"We're all very grateful for that, but we are also under no illusions that we aren't currently where we want or need to be and I assure you that our ambitions sit much higher in the table than we are placed as I write today."

The visitors were dealt a significant blow just hours before kick off.

At 17:00 BST, the Football Association confirmed County's top scorer Shaquille Gwengwe has been given a three-match suspension after admitting to a charge of violent conduct.

The incident occurred in the 66th minute of Newport's 1-1 draw with York City on Saturday. The forward's ban is effective immediately.

Gwenge has netted five times already this season having joined from Poole Town in the summer.

    League Two

Another tight race in the fourth tier, and some corking matches on the way tonight.

Salford will aim to stay top of the pile as they head to Bristol Rovers, who could return to the top four with a win.

Barnet are well placed in second with games in hand and welcome stuttering Swindon, while Crewe make the long trip to Exeter and York, in fourth, host Accrington, who sit just two points back in 10th.

At the other end, rock-bottom Crawley host Chesterfield, while Rotherham will seek to get out of the drop zone as they host Newport.

23 games in League One and Two

Tuesday night, floodlights on, music, packed stands, passion, history and a lot of teams making gruelling journeys to far-flung places.

Nope, not the Champions League, it's an EFL night, with a nigh-on full programme of fixtures across the third and fourth tiers.

Just over four years ago Leicester played a European semi-final of their own against Roma in the Stadio Olimpico, a couple of nights later Bromley were drawing 2-2 with Dover in the National League.

Tonight they meet as equals in League One, which also has a host of huge games in the tightly packed promotion race, while League Two is as open as it's ever been too, with a dozen games coming up.

Get yourself settled, it's nights like this that ultimately decide who will be The Chaampiooons come the end of the season.
