    The new EFL season is back and so is the 72+ podcast.

    Aaron Paul is joined by Andy Woodman, Luke Chambers and Lyle Taylor to preview all three divisions on our new 72+ feed, looking at who are the promotion contenders, relegated giants and dark horses.

    Salford City manager Peter Cklamovski also discusses his journey from Australia and Asia to English football, working with Ange Postecoglou and the pressure of taking charge of one of League Two's promotion favourites.

  4. Defender Grant back for third Bromley spellpublished at 12:07 BST 1 August

    Kamarl Grant has returned to Bromley for his third loan spell with the club following their promotion to League One.

    The 23-year-old defender began his senior career with Sheffield United before joining Millwall in 2022, and since then he has been loaned out to Dagenham & Redbridge and Blackpool as well as having two spells at Hayes Lane.

    He has made 58 appearances for the Ravens across those two previous stays, scoring two goals, and he helped the club to promotion to the English Football League in 2024.

    Grant came through the youth system at Crystal Palace and, after his release by the Eagles, played for Kinetic Academy, where his performances alerted Blades scouts.

    He made three appearances for Blackpool in League One last season after moving to Bloomfield Road for the second half of the campaign.

    Newly-promoted League One side Bromley have signed midfielder JJ McKiernan from Championship side Lincoln City for an undisclosed fee.

    McKiernan, 24, most recently spent a successful season and a half on loan at Burton Albion, making 54 appearances and scoring three goals.

    The midfielder started out in Watford's academy but has also enjoyed loan spells with Dublin side Bohemians and National League outfit Eastleigh before securing a permanent deal with Morecambe in League Two in the summer of 2023.

    Bromley, who were League Two champions last season under boss Andy Woodman, have not disclosed the length of McKiernan's contract with the club.

    The TV schedule for the opening two months of the English Football League's 2026-27 season have been announced and with that, there are a few games getting a headline slot.

    Here are the new dates to jot into your calendars across the EFL in August and September:

    • Thursday, 20 August - Sheffield Wednesday v Bradford City (20:00 BST)

    • Sunday, 23 August - West Bromwich Albion v Burnley (12:00 BST)

    • Friday, 28 August - Wrexham v Birmingham City (20:00 BST)

    • Sunday, 6 September - Birmingham City v Wolves (12:00 BST)

    • Monday, 7 September - Bromley v AFC Wimbledon (20:00 BST)

    • Thursday, 10 September - Stevenage v Luton Town (20:00 BST)

    • Friday, 11 September - West Ham United v Wrexham (20:00 BST)

    • Sunday, 13 September - Sheffield United v Wolves (12:00 BST)

    • Thursday, 17 September - AFC Wimbledon v MK Dons (20:00 BST)

    • Friday, 18 September - Bristol City v Watford (20:00 BST)

    • Sunday, 20 September - Wolves v West Bromwich Albion (12:00 BST)
