Mansfield Town goalkeeper Liam Roberts has signed a one-year contract extension to keep him with the Stags until the summer of 2028.

The 31-year-old joined the League One side after he was released by Millwall in July 2025 and featured 48 times across all competitions in his first season at One Call Stadium.

He collected Mansfield's players' player of the season and Stags Supporters' Association player of the season awards after keeping a total of 14 clean sheets during the campaign.

"Liam signing a new contract is a reward for a brilliant season and we wanted to secure him for a little while longer," Mansfield manager Nigel Clough told the club website., external

Mansfield Town have completed the signing of defender Owen Dodgson on a season-long loan from fellow League One club Stockport County.

The 23-year-old made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Hatters last season as they ended the campaign beaten finalists in the League One play-off final at Wembley.

Dodgson can play as a left-back, left wing-back or in a defensive midfield role.

He becomes Nigel Clough's fifth signing of the summer window, joining former Barnsley pair David McGoldrick and Jon Russell, as well as Michael Smith and Liam Thompson through the door at Field Mill.

Mansfield Town have signed Derby County midfielder Liam Thompson for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old came through the Rams' youth setup and made 124 appearances for the Championship club.

Thompson has signed a two-year deal at Nigel Clough's League One Stags.

"He's capable of playing in a couple of positions and will add real tenacity to our midfield," Clough told the Mansfield website., external

"Liam brings great energy, works hard and is a strong all-round midfielder."
