    Mansfield Town have completed the signing of defender Owen Dodgson on a season-long loan from fellow League One club Stockport County.

    The 23-year-old made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Hatters last season as they ended the campaign beaten finalists in the League One play-off final at Wembley.

    Dodgson can play as a left-back, left wing-back or in a defensive midfield role.

    He becomes Nigel Clough's fifth signing of the summer window, joining former Barnsley pair David McGoldrick and Jon Russell, as well as Michael Smith and Liam Thompson through the door at Field Mill.

    "Mansfield are a club which has progressed year-upon-year in recent seasons and after speaking with the gaffer it was a really straight forward decision to join until the end of the season," Dodgson told Mansfield's website., external

    Max Metcalfe made 14 appearances last season for Oxford City

    Solihull Moors have signed 6ft 6ins goalkeeper Max Metcalfe from Stockport County.

    The 23-year-old, whose father Richard played international rugby union for Scotland, came through the Middlesbrough academy and has National League experience from previous loan spells at Marine and Oxford City.

    Solihull have also signed 20-year-old midfielder Henry Rylah on a two-month loan from Charlton Athletic.

    Both new arrivals were named in the team to face Harrogate Town in Saturday's National League season-opener.

    Arian Allen featured in four games for Stockport last season

    Halifax Town have signed teenage attacking midfielder Arian Allen on loan from Stockport County.

    Allen, 18, made four appearances last season for Stockport - two in the EFL Cup and two in the EFL Trophy - and has dropped down to the National League side from League One County to gain some valuable playing time.

    He started out at Everton's academy aged 10 and spent six years there before moving up to Scotland to join Rangers' academy.

    Allen, who is under contract at Stockport until 2027, made the move to Edgeley Park in February last year and his only start for County came against Wolves Under-21s in the EFL Trophy in September.

    Stockport County have signed attacking midfielder Harry Wood from League of Ireland side Shelbourne FC for an undisclosed fee.

    The 23-year-old arrives at Edgeley Park on a three-year deal. Wood has scored 10 goals and made five assists in 24 league appearances during the current campaign.

    The Hull City academy graduate has European experience, playing in Champions League, Europa League and Conference League qualifiers for the Irish side.

    He has also had loan spells in the EFL with Scunthorpe United in 2021-2022 and Grimsby Town in 2024.

    Stockport head coach Jimmy McNulty told the club website:, external "Harry is a talented player with a versatile blend of attributes that perfectly complement our system, enabling him to play a number of roles."
