  1. 'I am just trusting the process'published at 12:29 BST 11 September

Team Europe captain Anna Nordqvist on her fourball decision: "We had a plan going into today and into the week.

"I feel we're right on track. I am just trusting the process."

On European support: "Amazing. I don't think I have seen as many European supporters."

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin 1UP (1)

Yealimi Noh makes her putt. Lottie Woad doesn't, with her effort well short of pace and that means the American pairing grab an early advantage.

Think that'll be good for Woad and Hull to go out again, play their own balls and hopefully get a bit of confidence back. If it doesn't work, then they can switch things up tomorrow or give them a rest before the singles on Sunday.

    Koerstz Madsen/Boutier v Khang/Lee

"On the tee, Celine Boutier," says the announcer. Sadly, it's not Boutier who is hitting first for Europe.

Let's try that again chuckles the announcer as she corrects herself. "On the tee, Maja Stark."

Wrong again! Nanna Koerstz Madsen is in fits of laughter as eventually Anna Nordqvist comes over and grabs the microphone to announce the Dane on the tee preoperly.

Not sure I've seen the announcer get the wrong player name twice before!

  5. Khang brings the noisepublished at 12:24 BST 11 September

    Koerstz Madsen/Boutier v Khang/Lee

Megan Khang brings the noise to the first tee as she tells the crowd to keep cheering as she lines up and swipes a driver away down the left side of the fairway.

I believe Bubba Watson was the first to do that with the crowd in these types of events, it may have been Medinah in 2012? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

That didn't work out too well for them that year did it?

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin (12:05 BST)

Angel Yin, who has played just once since June because of stomach issues knocks her second a smidgen long and it trickles off the dance floor to leave an awkward stance.

Helpfully though Yealimi Noh zips her ball into 10 feet or so, to give herself a look at a birdie.

Charley Hull's approach is a little strong and does find the sand but the Englishwoman, perhaps helped by seeing Lottie Woad clip into six feet, plays a delicious sand wedge to gimme range.

    Koerstz Madsen/Boutier v Khang/Lee (12:20)

Nanna Koerstz Madsen and Celine Boutier lost to Alison Lee this morning, and the American now gets a new partner this afternoon in the lively Megan Khang - who is on a stellar Solheim Cup run.

Angela Stanford just had to use a pick on Khang, who has won her last five Solheim Cup matches in a row including going 3-0 last time out in 2024.

So the Europeans are certainly in for a rough ride this afternoon.

While Anna Nordqvist opted for three rookies [Julia Lopez Ramirez, Nastasia Nadaud and Mimi Rhodes] alongside Leona Maguire in her four captain's picks, Angela Stanford went for just one debutant, Lindy Duncan, with her two other wildcards, more like trump cards.

That's because Rose Zhang (right) and Megan Khang have proved to be absolutely formidable in recent Solheim Cups.

Zhang delivered one of the most dominant performances in Solheim Cup history in 2024, winning all four of her matches prior to reaching the 17th hole.

While Khang, has won seven of her last eight Solheim Cup matches dating back to her singles victory against Sophia Popov in 2021.

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin (12:05 BST)

    Amy Boulden
Former LET Tour player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 3 at Bernardus Golf Club

Fourball is definitely more suited to Charley Hull's game than foursomes. She's a very aggressive player. She has struggled with her back this morning. She had a physio out on the course giving her back a rub, and she really stiffened up out there.

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin (12:05 BST)

Yealimi Noh and Angel Yin both find the fairway on the opening hole and now Lottie Woad does the same.

Charley Hull, who says she's lost a bit of driving power since the last Solheim Cup in Virginia, follows suit and it's four balls in play as the fourballs get under way.

    On Anna Nordqvist's fourball pairings...

It's an interesting one. I am sure Anna Nordqvist would have had her pairings set out for the week. It is maybe a surprise some of those partnerships.

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin (12:05 BST)

The umbrellas and waterproof gear is still out and Charley Hull, Lottie Woad, Yealimi Noh and Angel Yin are all having a good laugh down ton the first tee.

The pins have been shifted to the back left of the first green since this morning.

And now the English duo get a huge roar from the fans as they are announced.

Europe's Leona Maguire has a stunning record when it comes to the Solheim Cup.

Never mind that she's slipped down the world rankings, when it comes to the biggest team competition in women's golf, she is now statistically unequalled in Europe's ranks.

Her points percentage is 73.1% (9-3-1), which is better than Janice Moody, who previously had the record at 72.7% (7-2-2).

  16. Nordvist's fourballs gamble?published at 11:52 BST 11 September

Not long until the fourballs get under way now. And just how will Europe fare?

And is European captain Anna Nordqvist taking a gamble?

Leona Maguire and the three other players who secured the two European points this morning are all sitting out this afternoon's session.

The United States have all four of the players to win points for them in action again in the fourballs.

Europe have done really well to fight back and level it at 2-2 after being 2-0 down. Maguire/Henseleit and Stark/Grant were brilliant under pressure. Game on for the afternoon!

That's a big hold on the last, to win the match and get a second point. 2-2 feels important, even this early.

  18. Hull & Woad lead out Europe again in fourballspublished at 11:40 BST 11 September

Charley Hull and Lottie Woad get an immediate chance to make amends after being well beaten by Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz in this morning's first foursomes match.

Anna Nordqvist has also paired France's Nastasia Nadaud and England's Mimi Rhodes together, while fellow rookie Julia Lopez Ramirez heads out with her Spanish compatriot Carlota Ciganda.

The action gets back under way with four fourballs at 12:05 BST.

Charley Hull and Lottie Woad are back out first for the Europeans, with each player playing their own ball with the lowest score counting.

    The match-ups are coming up...

  20. Postpublished at 11:37 BST 11 September

    Talk about a rarity.

Prior to today, Europe and the United States had only been level twice after the first session in 19 previous Solheim Cups.

That was back in 2011 in Ireland (Europe ultimately won 15-13) and in 2015 in Germany (the US won 14½-13½).
