  1. 'We got the point, so very happy'published at 11:29 BST 11 September

    2UP Henseleit/Maguire v Lee/Duncan

Team Europe's Leona Maguire and Esther Henseleit, speaking to Sky Sports...

Henseleit: "I think we played really well at the beginning, made a lot of birdies. The back nine is tricky and playing a bit long with the wind and the rain.

"The last six-seven holes were a grind. We made putts and made ups and downs. In the end, we got the point, so very happy."

Maguire: "When the weather got bad and miserable - it was that extra little bit to grind it out. The crowds were amazing this morning. A few new chants and a few more songs that we haven't heard, so that was keeping us entertained."

After a nervy couple of holes, Leona Maguire and Esther Henseleit really gathered themselves nicely for that final hole to bring home a full point.

They'd have felt those nerves too having been in charge all day only to let Andrea Lee and Lindy Duncan back into the contest late on.

Coming down the final hole in foursomes is also a nervous time, but the European pair handled it brilliantly and after all that we're back to where we started the day with the Solheim Cup level at 2-2.

  4. Europe closing inpublished at 11:19 BST 11 September

    1UP Henseleit/Maguire v Lee/Duncan (17)

While America have to lay up out of the sand and then hit a wedge to about 15 feet, Leona Maguire goes for the green, just comes up short before Esther Henseleit hits a lovely chip pretty much stone dead.

The USA have to make this and somehow hope Europe miss...

  5. 'If someone messes up, we don't stress'published at 11:13 BST 11 September

    Stark/Grant beat Zhang/Kupcho 3&2

Linn Grant of Team Europe and Maja StarkImage source, Getty Images

Team Europe's Swedish duo Maja Stark and Linn Grant, speaking to Sky Sports...

Stark: "I think we're pretty decent players. That helps and that makes it a lot easier. It felt like we hit good shots from the start.

"I think we're just so calm. If someone messes up, we don't stress out. It is easier to play in a pair. You never think that's a hard shot. You take so much pressure off of yourself. It is also pretty fun."

Grant on holing out from the bunker on the 9th: "It was like a really good shot. Obviously, the three shots before that weren't very great."

  6. Final holepublished at 11:11 BST 11 September

    1UP Henseleit/Maguire v Lee/Duncan (17)

It's a great matchplay hole the 18th this week with a creek snaking across the middle of the fairway which really makes club selection crucial.

Both Lindy Duncan and Esther Henseleit take three woods to stay well back of the trouble - both go a little right off the tee but Europe have an advantage as the USA fell into the bunker.

And remember they only need to halve this hole to win the match.

  7. Huge halfpublished at 11:05 BST 11 September

    1UP Henseleit/Maguire v Lee/Duncan (17)

For as bad as their first two shots were, the recoveries were top draw. Leona Maguire played a blinder of a chip up over a big mound and onto a downslope but managing to stop it about five feet away.

It's a nervy putt still for Esther Henseleit but she rolls it in beautifully to guarantee Europe at least a half in this match as they head to the 18th tee.

Anna Nordqvist will want the full point though and get out of the opening session level.

  8. Europe notch first pointpublished at 10:59 BST 11 September

    Stark/Grant beat Zhang/Kupcho 3&2

    Leaderboard

Rose Zhang puts a modicum of pressure on the Europeans by rolling in from around 15 feet.

Two putts for the win for Europe. Maja Stark with a tentative stab. Yikes. That's not dead.

Linn Grant now has a four-footer to win the match. Nanna Koerstz Madsen missed one from similar range a little earlier. But Grant makes no mistake. Blue point on the board.

  9. Advantage USApublished at 10:58 BST 11 September

    1UP Henseleit/Maguire v Lee/Duncan (16)

Uh oh! The Europeans have been in control of this match most of the day but it could all be falling apart now as we get our first look of the 17th today.

The Americans hit the fairway and then the green but Leona Maguire sprayed her tee shot wide right before Esther Henseleit sliced a blind approach wide right of the green.

    This could be trouble.

  10. The end is nighpublished at 10:55 BST 11 September

    3UP Stark/Grant v Zhang/Kupcho (15)

Linn Grant of Team Europe plays her second shotImage source, Getty Images

Linn Grant is in prime position for shot three. Just 69 yards to the flag. No need to take it on with the Americans in the water.

She flicks a wedge on to the green and leaves Maya Stark a 20-footer down the hill.

Jen Kupcho is heading to the drop zone, which is actually further away than Grant was. She has 80 yards left. And it has to go in close. It's decent but only a couple of feet inside the European ball.

US have played four. Europe three. US need to win the hole to keep the match alive.

  11. Europe closing in on first pointpublished at 10:50 BST 11 September

    3UP Stark/Grant v Zhang/Kupcho (15)

Back up the 16th and Rose Zhang is in the middle of the fairway. Will she take on the creek that runs in front of the green?

She's got a three-wood in her hand and is deep in conversation with her caddie.

The left hand comes off the club and she looks forlornly after her ball as it takes a hop short of the water and dives into it.

If Maja Stark had any thoughts of also taking on the water, that Zhang shot made up her mind. It's a lay-up.

This match is almost done in Europe's favour.

  12. Getting tensepublished at 10:48 BST 11 September

    1UP Henseleit/Maguire v Lee/Duncan (16)

That Esther Henseleit mistake off the tee ultimately costs Europe the hole on 16, and now the lead is just one with two holes to play.

It's all getting a bit tight in this one now...

  13. As it stands...published at 10:47 BST 11 September

Team USA could not have asked for a better start. Two matches and two points.

However, Team Europe as it stands have two points coming their way if they hold their nerve.

  14. 'We played super consistent'published at 10:44 BST 11 September

    Koerstz Madsen/Boutier lose to Coughlin/Lee 3&2

Team USA's Alison Lee, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was great. The first time we were paired together in the Solheim Cup.

"This morning we played super consistent. We gave each other birdie chances when we could. Super happy with how we performed."

  15. Europe v USA head-to-headpublished at 10:44 BST 11 September

    Solheim Cup

USA power into a 2-0 lead, but Europe are ahead in the remaining two matches and if it ends up level in this first session it would be no surprise given how recent Solheim Cups have gone.

Looking at the two sides coming in, USA held the advantage with a lower average world ranking and more major wins under their belts, but it's actually Europe that has more experience.

Anna Nordqvist's side arrived with more Solheim Cup appearances and more points won than the Americans, even though they have twice as many rookies this week.

Who do you see as the favourite? Thumbs up for Europe and down for USA.

  16. US win second pointpublished at 10:39 BST 11 September

    Koerstz Madsen/Boutier lose to Coughlin/Lee 3&2

Celine Boutier is a little tentative with the birdie putt on 16. And that means Alison Lee has a putt to win the match.

Right-to-left but she's borrowed a fraction too much. Tap-in par.

NKM has to hole a four footer to extend this game down the 17th. No! Pulled it.

And for a second there, nobody seems to know what that means. I can tell you. It's a second US point of the morning.

  17. Splashdown again...published at 10:36 BST 11 September

    2UP Henseleit/Maguire v Lee/Duncan (15)

There's been plenty of golf balls in the water at 15, but 16 is claiming a few scalps now as well with the stream that runs down the right hand side waiting as the fairway tilts from left to right and feeds balls down there.

Of course, it doesn't help when you aim for the right half, push it and add a touch of fade as Esther Henseleit has just done - producing a lower runner that scurries along and drops into the drink.

    Advantage USA on this one.

  19. Europe dormie in bottom matchpublished at 10:35 BST 11 September

    3UP Stark/Grant v Zhang/Kupcho (15)

Jen Kupcho from the drop zone on the 15th fires into the heart of the green but that leaves Europe with two putts for the hole and to go three up with three to play and guarantee at least a half point.

Linn Grant cosies the ball down to a foot.

  20. Postpublished at 10:33 BST 11 September

    Koerstz Madsen/Boutier v Coughlin/Lee 2UP (15)

Nanna Koerstz Madsen has just under 100 yards to the flag but cannot capitalise, leaking the ball out to the right a little, and it's a touch long. Maybe 30 feet from the hole.

The American ball is five feet closer, also in three shots.
