At the end of the day, it is match play and I feel this is the perfect format for Angel Yin.

If you hit the odd bad shot, it doesn't matter as much in fourballs.

You don't have to be firing on all cylinders.

A lovely approach shot in there from Charley Hull on the par three. She will have a look at birdie.

That was the shot you would expect from Angel Yin after the amount of golf she has played.

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin A/S (3)

Charley Hull has not really been at her best yet today but that's a beauty from the Englishwoman, who zips in close off the right bank on the par-three fourth.

Angel Yin comes up a little short with her effort but she has some insurance with Yealimi Noh already on the green.

    Ciganda/Ramirez v Korda/Coughlin A/S (1)

Nelly Korda of Team United States reactsImage source, Getty Images

One of Julia Lopez Ramirez or Carlota Ciganda needs to make their similar putts from about 15 feet away since Nelly Korda is in there nice and close.

Ramirez goes first and slides it by the left edge, didn't move much in the end, but that gave Ciganda the perfect read as she then rolls it in dead centre of the cup.

Korda taps in for the half but she'll be disappointed as she was odds-on to win that hole.

    Nadaud/Rhodes v Corpuz/Kim 1UP (1)

Oh my word. Where is Auston Kim going there? The American tries to smoke her second on the par-five second and pulls it badly left, way over the spectators and into trouble.

Nelly coming in from 75 yards. Staring it up and down. The ball bounces just short of the pin.

She is showing how good she is with the wedges. She rolls it to within four feet of the hole. If Nelly doesn't win points this week, then it will be a difficult week for the Americans.

  7. Woad levels matchpublished at 13:04 BST 11 September

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin A/S (3)

Lottie Woad is running hot with her putter and with Charley Hull and Angel Yin watching on, the Englishwoman drains another of those mid-range efforts to draw Europe level on the third green.

    1UP Koerstz Madsen/Boutier v Khang/Lee (2)

The European duo can only make a five on the second and both Americans have great chances to win it.

Alison Lee missing her putt is a surprise, but not as much as Megan Khang missing from only about four feet away as the Europeans get a huge left off there to keep their lead.

  9. Unerring Corpuz sticks more red on the boardpublished at 12:57 BST 11 September

    Nadaud/Rhodes v Corpuz/Kim 1UP (1)

Nastasia Nadaud's putt up the slope at least applied some pressure but with two birdie looks the United States stick some more red up on the board as Allisen Corpuz drains her effort from around seven or eight feet.

    That was unerring.

  10. Match fourpublished at 12:53 BST 11 September

    Ciganda/Ramirez v Korda/Coughlin

Here we go, this anchor match could be quite something as world number one Nelly Korda returns and this time has Lauren Coughlin alongside her. And after her win this morning Coughlin remains unbeaten in the Solheim Cup as she went 3-0-1 in her debut in 2024.

We've got Spanish stalwart Carlota Ciganda, who secured the 14-14 tie on her home turf back in 2023 against Korda in the Sunday singles - and she can rub her opponents up the wrong way with her tenacity and also deliberate (some would say slow) style of play.

And completing the fourball is exciting Spanish rookie Julia Lopez Ramirez. Just watch how far this girl can smash it, as despite there being nothing of her, the 23-year-old topped the LPGA driving stats in her rookie year in 2025.

    Rhodes/Nadaud v Corpuz/Kim (12:35)

    Amy Boulden

Imagine the nerves on that first hole. Nastasia Nadaud did not get the strike with that wedge.

  12. Postpublished at 12:49 BST 11 September

    Nadaud/Rhodes v Corpuz/Kim (12:35 BST)

Auston Kim and Allisen Corpuz both stick their irons in close and Europe are under pressure on the first hole.

Mimi Rhodes comes up well short of the hole and Nastasia Nadaud, now chunks at her approach and doesn't even find the putting surface. Oh dear.

First-hole nerves? Nadaud has her putter out playing up a huge slope and runs her ball into a couple of feet. What an effort, nobody was taking on that shot with a putter in practice.

  13. Early lead for Europepublished at 12:46 BST 11 September

    1UP Koerstz Madsen/Boutier v Khang/Lee (1)

Those fun and games on the first tee didn't upset Celine Boutier who rolls in a birdie putt on the opening green to win the hole for Europe and put this pair into an early lead.

Always good for the hosts to get some quick blue on the board.

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin 1UP (2)

Lottie Woad walks her birdie putt in on the second to a huge roar.

But Angel Yin makes an early contribution for the United States by securing a four from around six feet, that ensures the hole is halved.

Anna Nordqvist sends out the four players who are out of form and benches the four who are in form, including Maguire, the player with the best Solheim record in history and a player who was poorly treated in the last Solheim. Not a good idea, methinks.

  16. 'Huge call' to pair rookies togetherpublished at 12:40 BST 11 September

    Rhodes/Nadaud v Corpuz/Kim (12:35)

    Amy Boulden
Former LET Tour player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 3 at Bernardus Golf Club

Two rookies paired together and you don't see that often. That is a huge call.

They are two players, who are definitely up for it today.

  17. Postpublished at 12:40 BST 11 September

    Nadaud/Rhodes v Corpuz/Kim (12:35 BST)

Auston Kim and Allisen Corpuz both get away safely and their balls come up short of the fairway bunker no more than eight to 10 yards away from each other.

England's Mimi Rhodes belts her drive into a similar spot and France's Nastasia Nadaud absolutely leathers hers way beyond the three other drives, while finding the left of the fairway.

The biggest event in women's golf, and it always seems without fail to generate great sporting drama and great sporting matches. There is a great rivalry between the United States and Europe.

  19. 'Happy with the way we played'published at 12:33 BST 11 September

United States captain Angela Stanford: "Really happy with it. First session out away from home, two points on the board, happy with the way we played.

"I liked what we did out there and we fought until the end. I like where we are. So far we're doing everything that we set out to do today.

"We rearranged some just to give some people some rest."

  20. Drive for show....published at 12:32 BST 11 September

    Koerstz Madsen/Boutier v Khang/Lee

Superb drive off the first tee by Nanna Koerstz Madsen, or is it Celine Boutier? Or Maja Stark? Who knows...

Enough of that nonsense - it's a ripper of a drive but the short game lets her down as she flicks a wedge into the green but leaves it well short.
