    Sussex 393 v Surrey 128-3

Ryan Patel is forward to Jack Carson, glancing the ball fine for two.

Some sharp turn and bounce at times for Carson and Patel switches to survival mode to see out the over.

  2. Postpublished at 14:13 BST 10 September

    Lancashire 63-4 v Glos - target 248

The floodlights are on at Old Trafford and it has become very gloomy.

This is not an easy time for batting for young pair Rocky Flintoff and Arav Shetty.

  3. Postpublished at 14:11 BST 10 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 171 & 65-5 f/o

Paul Walter drives Kuldeep Yadav straight, so straight in fact that he's drilled the ball into the stumps at the other end.

Kuldeep hasn't got a hand to it beforehand though and George Bell is safe.

Walter gets a single and George Bell works the wrist spinner square for one.

Shaikh lbw Overton 24 (Leicestershire 46-4 v Somerset, target 523)

    Another Leicestershire wicket goes down!

Hamza Shaikh is the latest to succumb to Somerset's bowling unit.

Craig Overton has another; this time he darts the ball into Shaikh and it raps him on his front pad. Looks plum and the finger goes up.

    Allison b Procter 8 (Worcs 200 & 177-8 v Northants 289)

Ben Allison drives at a wide one from Luke Procter and a big inside edge flattens his off stump.

He kneels ruefully with his chin on his left hand before walking back to the dressing room.

Can you 'kneel ruefully'? One for the grammar experts.

    Notts 377 & 57-6 v Hants 304

Momentary delay as Fraser Sheat sends for a new bat after a ball from Scott Currie sends part of the shoulder of his original selection flying.

"How many bats would you bring with you from New Zealand," wonders BBc Radio Nottingham's Dave Bracegirdle.

  7. Postpublished at 14:06 BST 10 September

    Sussex 393 v Surrey 124-3

Ryan Patel picks up four runs off Jack Carson - sweeping the off spinner behind square with a flourish.

  9. Postpublished at 14:05 BST 10 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 171 & 57-5 f/o

Four more for George Bell - who lofts a sweep in front of square facing Kuldeep Yadav.

Kuldeep appeals for a leg slip catch as Bell tries to repeat the shot but it's not out. A bump ball.

Here comes Jaydev Unadkat, back in the attack from the Cromwell Road End.

    Harris c Hammond b Taylor 9 (Lancs 55-4 v Glos - target 248)

A first over of the innings for Matt Taylor and the left-armer only needs three balls to get into the wickets.

Marcus Harris is unsure about his off-stump and the Australia batter goes fishing and the ball is well pouched by Miles Hammond at third slip.

A third good catch from Hammond in the innings and Lancashire's two main batters are out with still another 193 runs needed.

Gloucestershire are well placed for back-to-back wins now.

    Leicestershire 37-3 v Somerset (Target: 523)

Not much for Leicestershire to shout about today, but Hamza Shaikh has just sent a couple of delightful cover drives to the boundary off successive Jake Ball deliveries.

The young batter moves onto 16.

    Derbys 238-5 & 300 v Kent 219

Luis Reece has had that bang on his head but, having passed concussion protocols, has proceeded to take the attack back to Kent.

Bertie Foreman has taken a little bit of tap here as Reece heaves him over long-on to prompt the umpire to raise both arms.

  14. Postpublished at 13:58 BST 10 September

    Sussex 393 v Surrey 111-3

Off spinner Jack Carson is back in the attack for Sussex.

Ben Foakes is forward to work the ball into the leg side for one.

Ryan Patel is back and across to cut to deep point for one.

Foakes leaves outside off to see out the over. Calmer waters for Surrey after a tough session with the bat this morning.

    Patterson-White c Weatherley b Currie 1 (Notts 377 & 47-6 v Hants 304)

    Notts are in meltdown.

Liam Patterson-White - only six balls into his innings - tries to pull Scott Currie and top edges to Joe Weatherley, who takes a few steps back from third slip to position himself under the catch.

When was the last time Hampshire took the first six wickets in an innings and none of them were for Kyle Abbott?

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 171 & 48-5 f/o

Dom Bess is having a bowl for the first time in the innings and the tall left-handed opener Paul Walter goes downtown to loft the ball over long-on for six.

Bess floats one up to Walter, who drags the ball into the legside to see out the over.

  17. Time for spinpublished at 13:55 BST 10 September

    Lancashire 52-3 v Glos - target 248

After eight overs from JT Langridge with wickets of both openers, it's time for some spin.

India tweaker Sai Kishore has the ball in hand. This could be interesting to see if the left-armer can find any purchase.

  18. Postpublished at 13:52 BST 10 September

    Sussex 393 v Surrey 106-3

Shot! Width from Sean Hunt and Ryan Patel cuts with style and power through backward point for four.

He gets a thick outside edge driving and that brings a run to deep third to reach 34.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:52 BST 10 September

    D'Oliveira c McManus b Chahal 64 (Worcs 200 & 162-7 v Northants 289)

Brett D'Oliveira tries to run the ball down to third man but it's far too close to him for the shot and sub keeper Stuart van der Merwe takes the catch to give Yuzi Chahal his second wicket.

With Kent finding life tough in their match against Derbyshire, Northants have every chance to moving into second spot if they win this match.

Worcestershire are only 73 ahead as D'Oliveira departs.
