  1. Lunch at Hovepublished at 12:46 BST 10 September

    Sussex 393 v Surrey 80-3

An encouraging rebuild from Ben Foakes (14*) and Ryan Patel (19*) after Surrey slipped to 47-3 in the 22nd over this morning.

We have seen quality bowling, seam movement and turn at Hove this morning and a tough afternoon awaits for Surrey.

  2. Lunch at Worcesterpublished at 12:46 BST 10 September

    Worcestershire 200 & 136-6 v Northamptonshire 289

A boundary to mid-wicket for Tom Taylor off Saif Zaib, but Worcestershire are only 47 ahead as the players go in for lunch at New Road.

The Pears added 81 runs during the morning but lost three wickets in the process - one each for Luke Procter, Ben Sanderson and Yuzi Chahal.

Brett D'Oliveira is playing a lone hand for the home side at the moment, and has 50 not out from 133 balls.

Northants will still be hopeful of wrapping this one up today and earning themselves a day off.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:45 BST 10 September

    Jennings c Hammond b Langridge 16 (Lancs 25-3 v Glos - target 248)

Only nine overs before lunch for Gloucestershire to bowl and they may have already done enough to win this game.

JT Langridge follows up his yorker of Matty Hurst with another cracker to remove the dangerous Keaton Jennings.

Left-armer to left-hander and it's on or around off-stump with another pace and movement to get Jennings' edge and Miles Hammond is again a safe pair of hands at third slip.

  4. wicket

WICKET AND LUNCHpublished at 12:43 BST 10 September

    Critchley b Kuldeep 0 - Yorkshire 390 v Essex 171 & 14-4 f/o

First ball - and that will be a chastening lunch break for Essex.

Matt Critchley hasn't played for the turn and Kuldeep Yadav strikes middle and leg via the back pad.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:40 BST 10 September

    Ahmed c Overton b Gregory 6 (Leicestershire 10-2 v Somerset, target: 523)

That is out! A carbon copy delivery does the trick for Somerset.

Bowled Gregory, caught Overton. This one for Rehan Ahmed was not too dissimilar to the one which dismissed Rishi Patel earlier. Ahmed had missed a couple of balls before this but plays at this one and it ends with Overton taking it in his midriff.

    That is lunch.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:39 BST 10 September

    Allison c Wharton b Kuldeep 1 - Yorkshire 390 v Essex 171 & 14-3 f/o

Charlie Allison plays with a closed face to Kuldeep Yadav and lofts the ball to James Wharton on the on side.

Essex are in freefall as Matt Critchley comes in to bat.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:38 BST 10 September

    Lancashire 19-2 v Glos - target 248

Will Williams strikes again versus his former club!

A seventh of the match after his 6-24 yesterday and it's typical Williams.

He has given little away so far and he's on the money again and Harry Singh gets twitchy and edges it to the slip cordon, where Miles Hammond gobbles it up at third.

The Lancashire innings is getting a familiar feel to it.

  8. Postpublished at 12:38 BST 10 September

    Sussex 393 v Surrey 73-3

A neat checked drive from Ryan Patel off Ari Karvelas sends the ball skimming through wide mid off for four runs.

Lunch will be taken at the slightly later time of 12.40 as we have extended sessions of play today.

Now Jack Carson is on to bowl some off spin.

Ben Foakes works the ball around the corner for one.

There is some turn for Carson away from the left-handed Patel, who nonetheless sees out the over with Foakes.

  9. 50 runs

for Brett D'Oliveirapublished at 12:38 BST 10 September

    Worcs 200 & 129-6 v Northants 289

    Brett D'OliveiraImage source, Getty Images

His team are on the back foot but Worcestershire skipper Brett D'Oliveira reaches 50 off 130 balls by nudging James Sales for a single.

They are just 40 ahead, though, and it's crucial they afford further loss before a belated lunch.

  10. Lunch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 12:35 BST 10 September

    Durham 252 & 322-5 v Middlesex 203

The wicket of Ben McKinney is followed by the exit of all the players from the field for a slightly early lunch.

McKinney's 184 has been the highlight of a morning in which Durham have smoothly added 118 for the loss of three wickets.

The lead now is 371, so the big question is when the hosts decide they have enough runs on the board before sending Middlesex in.

  11. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 12:34 BST 10 September

    Nottinghamshire 377 & 18-2 v Hampshire 304

Title-chasing Notts collected maximum bowling points - but it may be Hampshire who are the happier side as they tuck into lunch at Trent Bridge.

The visitors only added 37 to their overnight 267-7 as Jake Lehmann ran out of partners on 133 not out - Dillon Pennington taking two of the three wickets to fall.

Leading by 73 on first innings, Notts then lost Haseeb Hameed and Freddie McCann in the nine overs they had to face before lunch.

Both fell to promising paceman Eddie Jack, who has 2-9.

  12. Postpublished at 12:33 BST 10 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 171 & 14-2 f/o

Paul Walter sees out the latest Kuldeep over, playing the left arm wrist spinner safely into the leg side.

Charlie Allison has been off strike since he came in but now he will face George Hill.

Allison gets a thick inside edge past his stumps and down to long leg for a single.

Walter is drawn forward into a play and miss. And again.

Hill is a nightmare for Essex here today.

  13. wicket

    McKinney c Holden b Hollman 184 (Durham 252 & 322-5 v Middlesex 203)

What a shame, Ben McKinney can't push on to his double hundred.

He goes for a big shot off the spin of Luke Hollman, but the ball goes more offside than he was looking for and stand-in Middlesex captain Max Holden takes the catch.

It's a marvellous knock off 250 balls with 23 fours and a six that has surely batted Durham into a position where they certainly cannot lose.

The 21-year-old has once again demonstrated why he is so highly regarded.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:31 BST 10 September

    Andersson lbw Singh 50 (Derbys 200-5 & 300 v Kent 219)

The commentator's curse. Martin Andersson, three balls after bringing up his half-century, is trapped in front by Ekansh Singh and the umpire obliges.

That is, in fact, lunch and Derbyshire lead at the interval by 281 with five second innings wickets in hand.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:30 BST 10 September

    R Patel c Overton b Gregory 2 (Leicestershire 4-1 v Somerset, target 523)

    Breakthrough for Somerset before lunch!

Captain Lewis Gregory has the new ball and does the early damage. His length ball, outside of off, proves too tempting for Rishi Patel, who pushes at it and finds the hands of Craig Overton at third slip.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Martin Anderssonpublished at 12:30 BST 10 September

    Derbys 200-4 & 300 v Kent 219

A fifth half-century for Martin Andersson of the County Championship season - this has been a dynamic innings, including six fours and one six.

Interestingly, as is pointed out on comms, in three of his previous four fifties this season, Andersson has gone on to reach three figures.

In the same innings, Derbyshire bring up 200.

  17. Postpublished at 12:29 BST 10 September

    Sussex 393 v Surrey 65-3

A slip and a silly mid off for James Coles and Ben Foakes plays the ball through mid wicket for two.

A single is steered to backward. Ryan Patel is back and across to a short ball, cutting through extra cover for three.

  18. Postpublished at 12:28 BST 10 September

    Durham 252 & 321-4 v Middlesex 203

Durham lead by 370 as this game ticks towards lunch on day three and this stand between Ben McKinney and Colin Ackermann is now worth 68.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:27 BST 10 September

    McCann c Lumsden b Jack 4 (Notts 377 & 17-2 v Hants 304)

"If that was a plan, it's worked beautifully," says commentator Mel Farrell.

Eddie Jack angles a short one across Freddie McCann, who uppercuts over the slips for four.

Undeterred, the Hampshire paceman repeats it next ball and this time McCann picks out 17-year-old Manny Lumsden who takes a fine catch.

The Notts batter cannot believe what he has done.

WICKETpublished at 12:26 BST 10 September

    Westley LBW b Hill 0 - Yorkshire 390 v Essex 171 & 13-2 f/o

An appeal for caught behind is turned down and Tom Westley survives facing George Hill. Pad only perhaps.

A shorter ball is dropped into the off side for no run.

Out! Tom Westley has missed playing across the line in front of the stumps.

Hill has two and Essex remain 206 behind.

    Charlie Allison is in.
