Mimi Rhodes makes no mistake from a couple of feet away. Rhodes for birdie, which means another line of blue on the leaderboard.

There's bold and there's well careless. And that falls under the latter from from Auston Kim. The American rookie is putting from downtown for a birdie on the 10th but there's way too much gas on that and her effort sails six feet past.

It allows Mimi Rhodes, who almost holed out with her pitch for eagle to tidy up and take the hole for Europe.

  3. Ramirez holds her nervepublished at 15:35 BST 11 September

    2UP Ciganda/Ramirez v Korda/Coughlin (9)

Julia Lopez Ramirez goes close with a birdie putt to win the ninth, but after hitting the lip the ball rolls to that dodgy little distance nobody really likes on crucial putts.

She's had a couple of those now though and really does knock them in confidently with the minimum of fuss. That's how to deal with those stinky ones.

  4. Birdie bonus for Khangpublished at 15:33 BST 11 September

    Koerstz Madsen/Boutier v Khang/Lee 2UP (11)

Megan Khang just about rolls in a birdie putt, on the very last roll, to take a two-hole lead on Celine Boutier and the struggling Nanna Koerstz Madsen.

It's looking like this match is getting away from Europe now.

    2UP Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin (12)

Lottie Woad and Charley Hull are both in close on the 12th and so is Yealimi Noh, who drains her effort.

The English duo can't repeat the feat and it's a hole frittered away.

Charley Hull and Lottie Woad are three-up, and they are doing a great job, but it is far from over. They face tough opposition.

It is interesting. Speaking to a member of the European team, Nanna Koerstz Madsen came in on her lunch break and was on the phone to her golf coach trying to fix something in her swing...

    3UP Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin (11)

Lottie Woad has a horrible lie down the right of the 12th fairway but almost dunks her apporach into the hole from 100 yards.

    Wow.

Birdie chance incoming from three or four feet.

  9. Madsen really strugglingpublished at 15:26 BST 11 September

    Koerstz Madsen/Boutier v Khang/Lee 1UP (10)

Nanna Koerstz Madsen of Team Europe acknowledges the crowdImage source, Getty Images

It's all hindsight of course, but Nanna Koerstz Madsen did not play too well this morning and she's looked all out of sorts this afternoon, as she fires her tee shot on 11 wildly into the crowd.

It's tough on Anna Nordqvist because you could argue that Charley Hull and Lottie Woad were poor this morning but have bounced back this afternoon.

But Madsen looks a bit lost out there right now, and when you had performances like those from Leona Maguire, Esther Henseleit, Maja Stark and Linn Grant this morning it's hard not to think one of those would've been better deployed in fourballs.

  10. American eagle!published at 15:18 BST 11 September

    Koerstz Madsen/Boutier v Khang/Lee 1UP (10)

Alison Lee just loves the par-five 10th hole as she makes her second eagle of the day on it - this time on her own ball as she puts the American duo into the lead for the first time in this fourball match.

    Rhodes/Naduad v Corpuz/Kim A/S (9)

Allisen Corpuz watches her putt swirl around the top left of the cup before dropping. This is a tight affair but that keeps the European rookies at bay for now.

Why were Stark/Grant not back out in the fourballs? Nothing helps the confidence as much as having won already you’d think.

Team Europe's captain, Anna Nordqvist commented on her decision before the fourballs got under way. You can read more on that here, Bruce.

  13. Hull & Woad pull further clearpublished at 15:14 BST 11 September

    3UP Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin (11)

Textbook stuff from Lottie Woad and Charley Hull. The English duo are pouring it on at present and both find the heart of the 11th green off the tee.

Yealimi Noh then has to watch Hull confidently knock in her birdie putt and simply can't respond with Angel Yin out of the hole.

  14. Hat-trick for red-hot Spaniardspublished at 15:14 BST 11 September

    2UP Ciganda/Ramirez v Korda/Coughlin (8)

Julia Lopez Ramirez only needed a three wood to drive the green on the eighth, to set up a putt for an eagle. She got a bit excited with that attempt but held her nerve to hit the one coming back for a birdie to win the hole.

That's three holes in a row for the Spanish duo, and that'll really fire Lopez up after watching Ciganda spark this fightback.

    Iain Carter

That is an important moment for the top pair. They were under the cosh, and now they go back to two-up. They do it in brilliant style.

Never in doubt. The pressure is on Lottie Woad after Angel Yin and Yealimi Noah roll into birdie range but the English debutant strokes in for eagle to double Europe's advantage.

Mimi Rhodes has looked good. She looks comfortable out there. I think it is a big call to go with two young rookies, but Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud bring an energy. It injects some fire into the European team.

  18. Ciganda on firepublished at 14:56 BST 11 September

    Solheim CupImage source, Getty Images

Carlota Ciganda is feeling it now, with back-to-back birdies flipping this match on its head and putting Europe into the lead.

It's been flawless iron play by the Spaniard, knocking it close on the sixth and the seventh and leaving Nelly Korda and Lauren Coughlin helpless as they tried to match here.

    Sparkling stuff.

    1UP Hull/Woad v Noh/Yin (9)

Lottie Woad of Team Europe looks onImage source, Getty Images

Look at that grin from Lottie Woad.

The ideal line down the 10th is down the left but Woad, goes right and then draws a shot in that creeps on to the front edge and gives her a good look at eagle from no more than five feet.

Yealimi Noh, plays her approach off her tip toes to negate a raised section on the fair way. Not sure I've seen that too much but the American powers her ball on to the green, albeit she is long way back.

I feel like Charley Hull has been a very good golfer her whole professional career.

Every area of her game has improved massively. Every area is fantastic.

With Charley, it's not so much confidence, but she seems to get off to a slow start in tournaments.
