Portsmouth got their first win of the season after successive losses in the EFL Cup and Championship with a 3-1 success at Lincoln.

Pompey boss John Mousinho told BBC Radio Solent:

"You have to take every performance in context. And in the context of where we have been over the past couple of weeks and pre-season, where we have struggled to pick up results and struggled to put together performances, that was a very good day, a really good result and a really good performance.

"Today was a good combination in that we were very good defensively – were very solid and stood up to a massive test for the most part – and also when we got the ball down we played and did that pretty well too.

"There was a couple of things that really pleased me – the reaction to going a goal up, because we didn't fall apart like we did the last couple of weeks, our reaction to conceding and the second half was a very professional performance."

Lincoln City

Lincoln City's first home game in the second tier for 65 years ended in a 3-1 defeat by Portsmouth.

Imps head coach Tom Shaw told BBC Radio Lincolnshire:

"We are disappointed with the result on what was a really big day for Lincoln City Football Club.

"We started the game superbly well and spent seven or eight minutes in and around their goal with a flurry of set-pieces and it looked like we were a real threat.

"Then we got a proper sucker-punch. We will be really annoyed when we watch that back as a group because it was so preventable.

"The second goal probably knocked the wind out of everyone's sails a little bit, but I was very pleased with how we responded at that point. I thought the lads found a few gears.

"The first-half performance was positive and the second half we just felt we petered out a little."

To say that QPR have been left frustrated would be an understatement. Nine efforts on target and somehow no goals.

That’s largely down to Bolton goalkeeper Jack Bonham though who made great saves throughout - particularly to deny Richard Kone and Harvey Vale.

Somehow both teams remain unbeaten!

There is a lot to answer and a lot to get right. Wolves looked powerful and strong on the counter-attack.

If Preston play this way against Everton in midweek it will be a similar score, if not worse.

The goals conceded were very poor.

The amount of times that Preston lost the ball and allowed the counter attacks was worrying. It could have been a worse scoreline. It was a chastening performance and result.

Jordan Thompson scored late for Preston but Premier League quality was plain to see.

Wrexham have to settle for a point despite hitting the woodwork twice.

They had to come from behind after Luca Kjerrumgaard headed the visitors into the lead.

Danny Imray levelled and then struck a post before Lewis O'Brien spurned a late chance to win it for the home side.

Derby come from behind twice.

Cian Ashford and Yousef Salech had Cardiff ahead only for Carlton Morris and Bobby Clark to level on each occasion.

A point apiece probably about right.

A sticky week for Sheffield United ends with a point on the road.

Attentions now turn to issues off the field for them with the threat of a 12-point deduction because of unpaid monies to the club's former owner.

QPR 0-0 Jack Bonham.

Ridiculous.

17 shots, nine on target, nine corners, but QPR just could not find a way past the inspired Trotters keeper.

Both teams remain unbeaten but on another day the Hoops might have won 6-0.

Jeremy Sarmiento put Boro ahead before the break but Andri Gudjohnsen and Todd Cantwell turned the game on its head and inflict a first defeat on Mowbray's beloved Boro.
