  1. CLOSE!published at 15:23 BST 26 September

    Bristol Rovers 0-0 Exeter

This game is beginning to light up now.

Exeter earn a corner on the left and Jack Taylor rises highest at the back post. His header is tame but is flapped at by Brad Young.

Luckily for Young, Rovers clear the danger - and then they break.

Ellis Harrison is played in but, at a tight angle, his effort is scuffed and Jack Bycroft makes an easy save.

It's goalless in the three other games in League One so far.

Cambridge are hosting AFC Wimbledon, Peterborough are at Stockport and Reading are playing Wycombe at Adams Park who have Danny Ings on the bench today.

The former Burnley, Liverpool and England striker signed for the Chairboys yesterday after starting this season without a club.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:20 BST 26 September

    Tranmere 0-0 Walsall

Sven Sprangler goes into the book for Walsall, who brings down Zane Okoro on the run.

Jacob Slater has another shot on target for Tranmere, from distance, but this one is also easily held by Jed Ward in the visiting goal.

These two sides, who have gone well in League Two at the beginning of the season, are still getting a feel for each other.

  4. CLOSE!published at 15:20 BST 26 September

    Bristol Rovers 0-0 Exeter

Oh, what a chance for Exeter!

A pass is slipped through into the path of Ethan Sutherland and he is in one-on-one.

The Sunderland loanee's effort is very tame and Rovers keeper Brad Young makes a simple gather. Sutherland should have made more of that.

At the other end, Shaq Forde has a good opportunity for Rovers but his attempt is straight at Jack Bycroft.

  5. Postpublished at 15:16 BST 26 September

    York 1-0 Gillingham

    Big opportunity for 2-0 already.

York hit Gills on the counter-attack and Joe Grey is in but his touch is too heavy and he's smothered by Ollie Wright in the Gillingham goal.

  6. Postpublished at 15:15 BST 26 September

    Plymouth 0-0 Burton

Great chance for Plymouth to take the lead.

Ronan Curtis' cross beats Burton keeper Corey Addai and it reaches Aribim Pepple, but he puts his header wide.

First big moment of the game.

  7. Postpublished at 15:14 BST 26 September

    York 1-0 Gillingham

Gillingham's Harry Waldock has a good opportunity to put the ball in from a similar angle from where York grabbed their early goal.

However, unlike Ollie Pearce, Waldock gets his delivery all wrong and the ball goes out behind for a goal kick.

  8. Postpublished at 15:10 BST 26 September

    Tranmere 0-0 Walsall

Moments after some excellent skill by Will Vaulks led to a shot straight at Walsall keeper Jed Ward, Saddlers winger Reece Smith drives forwards down the left and wins a corner under pressure from recovering defender Bobby Faulkner.

Walsall cannot make their set-piece opportunity count.

  9. Postpublished at 15:09 BST 26 September

    Bristol Rovers 0-0 Exeter

Both teams playing their parts in this one early on.

Exeter earn a long throw which is cleared at the front post and, at the other end, Fabrizio Cavegn threatens in behind down the left channel but Jack Fitzwater gets a toe in for the away side.

    Lively enough start.

  10. Postpublished at 15:08 BST 26 September

    Plymouth 0-0 Burton

Burton win a couple of corners early doors but Plymouth deal with them both.

Plenty of longs balls without any shots on target to speak of.

Quiet start to proceedings at Home Park.

  11. Postpublished at 15:04 BST 26 September

    Tranmere 0-0 Walsall

There is an immediate stoppage at Prenton Park, where there has been some treatment for Walsall captain James Connolly, who collided with team-mate Elicha Ahui in the air within 20 seconds of the game beginning.

Connolly is back on his feet and cleared to continue.

GOAL: York 1-0 Gillinghampublished at 15:03 BST 26 September

    Joe Grey (2 mins)

    How's that for starters?

A fine first-time cross from the right by Ollie Pearce finds Joe Grey completely unmarked at the far post. Gillingham completely switch off early on here.

Grey's volley isn't the cleanest strike you'll ever see but it bounces into the ground and, almost in slow-motion, loops into the far corner.

    Gillingham haven't got going yet.

  13. Postpublished at 15:01 BST 26 September

    Bristol Rovers 0-0 Exeter

Before kick-off, there was a brilliantly observed minute's applause inside the Memorial Stadium in memory of Kevin Miller.

The former Bristol Rovers and Exeter City goalkeeper's death at the age of 57 was announced last week.

"There's only one Kevin Miller" is chanted around the ground.

Reading visit Wycombe in one of our two other games today in League One.

The Royals have won three of their past four and have a game in hand as they look to climb into the play-off spots.

The Chairboys might be six places below Reading, but are only a point behind, having won two on the bounce.

Stockport will hope to be at least in the play-off mix once more this season and they take on a Peterborough side who start the day second from bottom after a five-game winless run (D2 L3) and with Ryan Harley in the dugout after Luke Williams dismissal last weekend.

  16. U's host Wimbledonpublished at 14:54 BST 26 September

Cambridge v AFC Wimbledon (15:00 BST)

There might only be four games in League One this weekend but one of them pits two teams challenging near the top of the table against each other.

Cambridge have acquitted themselves well since returning to the third tier and are only three points behind leaders Bradford after seven games with just one defeat to their name, while the U's are unbeaten in their past four (W2 D2).

Meanwhile, their visitors AFC Wimbledon have managed to get full value for every goal they’ve scored so far this season.

With five goals, the Dons are the lowest scorers in the division alongside bottom side Wigan, but no-one has kept as many clean sheets as Johnnie Jackson’s side.

That is what has helped Wimbledon win three games - and they are also unbeaten in their past three outings (W2 D1).

Victory for Neil Harris' men would take them at least into the automatic promotion spots and possibly to the summit on goals scored if Plymouth fail to beat Burton.

  17. Argyle aiming to go top against Brewerspublished at 14:52 BST 26 September

    Plymouth v Burton (15:00 BST)

After a slightly shaky start to the season in which Plymouth won just one of their opening four games, they are now on a roll.

Argyle have won three on the bounce to climb from 15th to third and another victory today will take them top of the pile with neither Bradford or Sheffield Wednesday in action.

By slight contrast, Burton are without a victory in their past three outings (D2 L1) after winning two of their opening four games.

Gary Bowyer would love for his side to steer clear of a relegation battle this season following three consecutive campaigns in which they've been scrapping near the bottom but managed to survive.

The Pilgrims are unbeaten in their past nine games against the Brewers (W5 D4), while a win today would also be the first time Plymouth have won four league matches on the bounce since May 2023 - a season in which they won the League One title with 101 points.

  18. Alexander set to leave Bantams for Prestonpublished at 14:50 BST 26 September

Bradford's match against Barnsley may be one of eight League One fixtures which have been postponed because of international call-ups but the club have had anything but a relaxing break.

Head coach Graham Alexander, who led Bradford to League One in 2024-25, is set to leave the club to take over at Championship side Preston North End with Bradford top of League One after seven matches.

Alexander, a former right-back, captained Preston during his playing days and made 372 appearances across two separate spells.

Bradford "reluctantly" gave Preston permission to speak to their gaffer and are set to take on Reading next Saturday.

You can read more about Alexander's proposed appointment here.

The international break has only impacted two matches this afternoon, so there are 20 League Two teams in action - amongst them Oldham Athletic and Salford City, who go head to head this evening.

Third-placed Grimsby Town, unbeaten in seven, make the lengthy journey to lowly Newport County who have managed just a single league win so far this term under Hayden Mullins.

Fellow early pace-setters Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham Town and Gillingham, all who occupy League Two spots, are also in action.

Cheltenham are without the influence of manager Steve Cotterill, who is serving a touchline ban, host Chesterfield.

At the other end of the table, none of relegation zone pair Port Vale and Crawley Town, nor the side who sit above them Northampton Town are in action today so 21st-placed Accrington Stanley will seek to put ground between themselves and the bottom two when they pay a visit to Swindon Town.

Tranmere Rovers v Walsall (15:00 BST)

With current League Two leaders Barnet not playing today due to a number of international call-ups, Walsall can leapfrog the out-of-action Bees with victory over Tranmere Rovers this afternoon.

Lee Grant's Saddlers, who have kept three successive clean sheets, head to Prenton Park unbeaten having collected three wins and four draws from their opening seven league matches - although they were hit for six by Stevenage in the EFL Trophy in the week.

Tranmere, meanwhile, are only three points behind second-placed Walsall despite sitting eight places below them in the early stages of the campaign and, with a healthy win here, the Super White Army could actually move above them today.
