  3. Pacesetting Plymouth host injury-hit Terrierspublished at 14:57 BST 17 October

    Plymouth v Huddersfield (15:00 BST)

    Marc Webber
BBC Final Score commentator at Home Park

The city of Plymouth is a hotbed of football today.

Here at Home Park, an Argyle side unbeaten in three league and trophy games this month look to conquer an injury-ridden Huddersfield Town.

The visitors will want to forget surrendering a 2-0 second-half lead to draw with Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.

Meanwhile, two miles up the road, non-league side Plymouth Parkway are 90 minutes away from making the first round proper of the FA Cup for the first time, as they take on Southern League rivals Chertsey Town.

El Plymico in the first round, anyone?

It's been a pretty strange few weeks for Bradford City fans. All was well and Graham Alexander was leading their charge in League One having secured promotion from League Two.

Then Preston come calling and Alexander is gone and Michael Duff is chosen to continue the great work done by his predecessor.

Duff drew his first game in charge and is looking to get a first win of his reign today against Stevenage.

Today's visitors arrive here in great form having lost just once in their past six games in all competitions. Alex Revell's side will provide a stern test and it will be interesting times in this part of West Yorkshire in the coming weeks to see what the post-Alexander period brings!

  5. Terriers 'in a situation' against Pilgrimspublished at 14:51 BST 17 October

    Plymouth v Huddersfield (15:00 BST)

    Media caption,

Martin Drury faces a defensive reshuffle as they head to League One leaders Plymouth.

Huddersfield Town would have been sitting cosy in the top two this afternoon had they not thrown away their 2-0 lead late on in a dramatic conclusion against Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.

They won't have much time to blush over the own goal and penalty that saw two points slip away from them though.

Now they face the men at the top in Plymouth Argyle, who have won five of the past six league games - and it is not great timing.

"We are in a bit of situation with injuries at the minute," Terriers boss Martin Drury told BBC Radio Leeds.

"We've got seven players out now. You got to Plymouth, who are statistically one of the most direct teams in the league, and you lose two of your best aerial defenders. It's obviously frustrating."

  6. Owls having a hoot but for how long?published at 14:49 BST 17 October

Sheff Wed v AFC Wimbledon (15:00 BST)

Just outside the play-offs, only one loss under the belt this season; not usually the recipe for a manger under serious pressure but it is the case for Sheffield Wednesday's Henrik Pedersen.

Fans question his formulas and their draw against Huddersfield Town last time out was something of a gift after the Terriers conceded both an own goal and a penalty. A whole hour went by before the Owls even took a shot.

The Dane doesn't just need to keep the results flowing, he also needs to be a crowd pleaser and the Hillsborough faithful will want to see something more befitting a club of their calibre in this afternoon's game.

AFC Wimbledon, meanwhile, are suffering something of a dip after three winless games (D2 L1). Even if the future could be looking brighter.

  7. Under-fire Martin looking for home comfort against in-form Doncasterpublished at 14:47 BST 17 October

Leicester City v Doncaster (15:00 BST)

Boy, could Russell Martin do with three points today.

The former Southampton and Rangers boss is already under mounting pressure at the King Power after Leicester slumped to a third league home defeat in four this season.

Last weekend's 3-1 defeat by Robbie Savage's Peterborough left the Foxes down in 17th with nine points - one place below today's visitors Doncaster - their lowest points tally at this stage of the season outside the top flight since 2010-11.

Rovers manager Grant McCann may have also been feeling the heat after a six-match winless start to the league campaign.

But a corner of sorts may have been turned after back-to-back league wins, without conceding a goal.

  8. Will Tranmere or Barnet enjoy sweet taste of success?published at 14:44 BST 17 October

    Tranmere v Barnet (15:00 BST)

    Ben Mundy
BBC Final Score reporter at Prenton Park

    Trick, or treat?

I know Halloween isn’t for a couple of weeks, but I arrived at Prenton Park just as a man in a suit was entering with several tubs of sweets under his arm.

Tranmere’s Tom Ince was man marking him through the car park.

We could be in for a sweet game today, too.

Barnet are unbeaten in their past 16 matches, while their hosts haven’t lost at home this season.

Tranmere manager, Darrell Clarke says his side are looking forward to the game. And, I suspect, cracking open those sweets if they win.

  9. Can Swindon show signs of life by breaking down Saddlers?published at 14:42 BST 17 October

    Swindon v Walsall (15:00 BST)

Swindon Town manager Ian Holloway, wearing a pink shirt, gestures from the touchline with his right arm outstretchedImage source, Shutterstock

Swindon will need to end Walsall’s unbeaten start to the season if they’re to provide ‘dead man walking’ Ian Holloway with a new lease of life this afternoon.

The Robins manager’s recent, typically colourful description of his job security has not yet triggered an upturn in form from his side, with 1-0 defeats by both Rochdale and Crewe leaving them 17th in the table.

Finding the net might be a good start for Swindon. Joe Hungbo’s equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Accrington three weeks ago represents their only goal in the past five games.

Unfortunately for Town, they take on a Walsall side whose defensive record is the joint most miserly in League Two, with just six goals conceded to date.

The Saddlers, who are in the play-off positions as they kick off today, have developed into draw specialists with five of their last six games finishing all square

  12. 'One step forward, one step back'published at 14:35 BST 17 October

    FT: MK Dons 2-1 Luton

    Paul Dixon
    BBC Three Counties Radio commentator

It's one step forward then one step back from Luton's persepctive.

The Dons kept them at bay, there was lots of possession from Luton, but they were just taking too long to get the ball into the middle. The Dons back three did really well.

The reaction from the Luton fans now is interesting, there's quite a few boos.

  13. 'Certainly does something for the blood pressure'published at 14:33 BST 17 October

    FT: Peterborough 2-2 Burton

    Ben Stevenson
    BBC Radio Cambridgeshire reporter

It could have been all over at half-time and we could have had out feet up in the second half.

Each matchday there's another iconic scene. It's crazy, it's like football on no medication, the midfield is quite easy to break through at times.

It certainly does something for the blood pressure at 90 minutes.

  14. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:28 BST 17 October

    Peterborough 2-2 Burton

Matthew Garbett's last-gasp equaliser is enough to keep Robbie Savage's unbeaten record intact as Peterborough boss.

Hard on Burton who fought back brilliantly and looked to have won it with Gbemi Arubi's stunning 89th-minute effort from the halfway line.

  15. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:28 BST 17 October

    Shrewsbury 1-0 Bristol Rovers

The nine men hold on and Shrewsbury can celebrate beating Bristol Rovers for the first time in the last seven meetings.

Plenty of controversy about this one in the final 15 or 20 minutes, with the penalty award and then red cards for Shrewsbury pair Jay Turner-Cooke and Isaac Fletcher.

But it's Salop who take the points and start nudging up the table.

  16. Postpublished at 14:25 BST 17 October

    Shrewsbury 1-0 Bristol Rovers

Chance for an equaliser as Arvin Appiah's cross finds its way through to Fabrizio Cavegn and the striker's shot on the turn is held by Will Brook.

Still two added minutes to play...

  17. goal

GOAL: Peterborough 2-2 Burtonpublished at 14:24 BST 17 October

    Matthew Garbett (90+6 mins)

What a finish to the game!

In the final minute of stoppage time, Vernon Masara gets away and cuts the ball back towards Matthew Garbett who stretches to guide the ball in off the left-hand post.

Robbie Savage gets a yellow for his 'exuberant' celebration.

  18. Postpublished at 14:23 BST 17 October

    Peterborough 1-2 Burton

That early promise of a second-minute goal look to be fading for Robbie Savage's side.

Kgaogelo Chauke so nearly gives Burton a third but Harley Mills hooks his effort off the line.

  19. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:23 BST 17 October

    MK Dons 2-1 Luton

Aaron Collins' penalty earns MK Dons their first league victory of the season against Luton Town.

Luton levelled the score through Jordan Clark's sharp shooting but after the Dons had been denied a penalty for a handball against Callum Marshall, they get the call when George Johnston trips up Collins.

A tough one for Luton to swallow on the short trip home.

  20. RED CARDpublished at 14:23 BST 17 October

    Shrewsbury 1-0 Bristol Rovers

Boos ring out around Croud Meadow as Shrewsbury go down to nine men in added time!

Substitute Isaac Fletcher has been sent off by referee Ben Toner following a high challenge on Arvin Appiah.
