  1. 6 runs

    Eng 90-3published at 8 overs

    Target 146

Rathnayake switches from his left-arm tweakers to right-arm off-breaks, though he probably regretting it now he's been pumped for six by Tom Banton.

Want to know my hot take? He shouldn't have to tell the umpire which he's going to bowl before doing so. Why punish the bowler if they're talented enough to do it?

  2. Eng 82-3published at 7.3 overs

That's the first time Harry Brook has been dismissed in T20 internationals in July.

Sri Lanka have now brought on Tharindu Rathnayake, who can bowl with his right and left arm. He's started bowling with his left.

Sri Lanka really celebrated, they know how important that wicket is. Harry Brook has done a lot of damage though.

That was hit flat and hard. That is an unbelievable catch. It's really good to see Eshan Malinga wanting that, he takes it inches from the ground.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7 overs

    Brook c Malinga c Hasaranga 23 (Eng 79-3)

It was going to take something special and this is a brilliant catch to see off Harry Brook!

Brook hammers another Hasaranga short ball hard and flat but Eshan Malinga comes flying around from fine leg before diving to his left to take the catch.

  6. 6 runs

    Eng 79-2published at 6.5 overs

    The biggest of the lot!

It's the transfer of the weight and the ability to hit the good-length delivery off the back foot. Harry Brook has mastered that technique.

  8. 6 runs

    Eng 73-2published at 6.4 overs

And again from Harry Brook. This wasn't even that short.

It doesn't skid through, it sits up and Harry Brook only finds the middle of the bat.

  10. 6 runs

    Eng 67-2published at 6.2 overs

Sri Lanka turn to their trump card in leggie Wanindu Hasaranga and Harry Brook is in far too good form for half-trackers. He sends this a mile over square leg.

The fielders have a role to play here. Chameera is bowling with pace and energy, they need to creep in and make sure there isn't a single.

England are well and truly in control. Unless something extra special comes from Sri Lanka, England should make these runs.

  12. Eng 60-2published at 6 overs

Need 86 more runs to win from 84 balls

Sri Lanka are just hunting in the field a bit more intently, their fans cheering a bit louder after those two wickets. Tom Banton struggled the other night and chips a top-edge over the in-field here.

    That's the powerplay done.

Not sure about Donald so far - looks like he's trying to swing at everything. And, as I type this, he gets out. Wild slogging isn't good enough, surely.

That wicket brings in Tom Banton.

Back of a length, it looked like it was going to drop on point's head but wicketkeeper Kamil Mishara kept calling for it.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 5.1 overs

    Buttler c Mishara b Chameera 30 (Eng 55-2)

Well. Maybe Sri Lanka aren't done yet. Jos Buttler has another swing to a back-of-the-length ball from the pacey Chameera. He slices it up into the sky and the wicketkeeper takes command to take the catch.

Not a lot of width on offer. Jeez, so easy. He watches it so closely, as it passes him a slight flick of the wrist to get the ball over the slip fielder.

  18. Eng 55-1published at 5 overs

Need 91 more runs to win

Outrageous. As if to emphasize his form shown by those stats below, Harry Brook just guides his first ball from seamer Malinga through gully for four. It's a beautiful shot amid the swinging.

The ball I mentioned, by the way. Some young lad has found it and is running away down the riverside path.

  19. Brook's unbeaten runpublished at 20:40 BST 17 September
