I was lucky enough to see Harry Brook first hand at Yorkshire before he came into the England side. In his second year he came back and he was at a different level, he'd progressed so much.

I always thought I was alright on the short ball but he just kept banging it into the stands. You see a player at that age being to take on quick bowling, then find his feet in international cricket from day one. He is probably the best all-format batter in the world.

  3. 'Everyone was outstanding in the field'published at 21:42 BST 17 September

England captain Harry Brook: "I think tonight was a special performance. It was very clinical, they got off to a flier, the way we dragged it back was outstanding with the ball.

"We looked at the stats and it still suggested spin would play a part on this pitch. Everyone was outstanding in the field, and Tom Banton was outstanding. Liam Dawson is ever reliable, a great bloke as well. Uses his nous."

On Jos Buttler reaching 15,000 T20 runs: "Long may it continue, he's been phenomenal for 15 years. He's a man you want on the field and by your side."

On what he wants from his side in the final T20: "Just more of the side really. Adapt to conditions, we did that well here, it was a completely different pitch tonight."

You get picked for a role. Aneurin Donald has been selected to play the role Phil Salt plays, to be able to hit the first ball for four. The next question is whether he can sustain that, international cricket is all about pressure.

Player-of-the-match Liam Dawson: "The pitch offered a little bit tonight so it was quite simple what you had to do.

"I am the defensive option. Jacksy [Will Jacks] bowls in the powerplay sometimes, I do, we have all bases covered.

"You come here knowing it is big square. I don't mind it because you can bowl into the wicket."

  6. 'We are not up to the mark right now'published at 21:36 BST 17 September

Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka: "Really disappointed about the performance. When we were starting we were in the game and scored 60-odd runs [in the powerplay]. We gave wickets at regular intervals. That was disappointing.

"They were too good. We have to improve a lot, honestly, because we are not up to the mark right now."

England's players play a lot of T20 cricket. A lot of these players don't play Test cricket, so when you play a lot of a format you get a lot better at it.

Brendon McCullum has a clear method in white-ball cricket and his players have bought into that. England have got a great depth chart, they could almost play two teams.

When you have a team like that and a squad like that it's incredibly exciting because players are going to push one another.

England have been clincal. They started quite slowly with the ball today and managed to change the momentum of the game. Since then they have not looked back.

Every single bat came out look to dominate and they were able to kill this chase.

The Sri Lanka players look a bit beaten up as the two teams shake hands. They have been outclassed in both matches.

Need two more runs to win

Rubbish all round. Jacks skies a slog and the catch is dropped. It doesn't matter because it was a free-hit but it's all very messy.

It's a good thing they had a three-minute discussion about that delivery.

"Where am I going to bowl it, skip?"

    "I reckon a wide."

That's one of the better innings Tom Banton has played for England. He's found his feet in his new role in the middle-order, a very mature innings.
