    Ahmed c Patterson-White b Pennington 54 (Notts 451-8 dec v Leics 111-3)

Notts do finally have a wicket today!

Rehan Ahmed, playing full of confidence, takes a swipe at an outswinger from Dillon Pennington but doesn't time it right and he nicks it behind to first slip.

Ahmed departs for 54 and Notts have broken his partnership with Josh Hull which had been frustrating them all day so far.

More wickets to come now for Notts?

  2. 50 runs

50 partnership for Hampshirepublished at 14:17 BST 4 September

    Hants 115 & 62-2 v Warks 398

Still a long way to go for Hampshire even to just avoid an innings defeat. They're still 221 runs away from that.

But they've managed their first 50 partnership of the match through Jake Lehmann and Toby Albert.

Albert did survive a low chance at slip off Manav Suthar but they are steadying the ship

  3. Durham leadpublished at 14:14 BST 4 September

    Northants 263 v Durham 205 & 65-1

Alex Lees and Will Rhodes have taken the Division Two leaders into the black in this game.

Lees has 41 now as we very definitely enter a one-innings shootout.

    Durham lead by seven.

    Game. On.

    O'Riordan b Gregory 0 (Glam 150-9, trail by 97 runs)

That is a lovely shape from Lewis Gregory.

Fired in at middle and leg it has straightened a touch and evades Connor O'Riordan's speculative defence.

Somerset are one wicket away from going top of the Division One table, at least until Notts finish their game against Leics.

    Well batted Rehan Ahmed!

He's reached 50 runs from 86 balls in a little over two hours of batting.

After a single takes him to a half-century he promptly cracks a four away to the rope.

Josh Hull is also batting very well at the other end - he's on 34 from 11 balls - and has broken his defensive style to drop down to one knee and smash a six!

A reminder that Notts are yet to take a wicket today.

    Dudgeon c Allison b Taylor 0 (Kent 238 & 295-7 v Worcestershire 205)

    Tom Taylor again!

Three in three overs for the Pears seamer as Keith Dudgeon offers an obliging slightly open face to edge it to Ben Allison at first slip.

He takes it in front of his face. Worcestershire are fighting, but they're miles behind.

  7. wicket

SUSSEX 230 ALL OUTpublished at 14:10 BST 4 September

    Coles c Harmer b Akhter 79

Zaman Akhter has banged one in short and James Coles has tried to lift it over cow corner.

Simon Harmer scuttling around from deep midwicket makes the ground and takes the catch to end the Sussex innings.

Akhter finishes with 3-51 and Sussex finish with a lead of 328 which, nine times out of 10 you would think, would be enough.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:07 BST 4 September

    Dickson c Abell b Gregory 47 (Glam 150-8, trail by 97 runs)

Sean Dickson punches his bat in frustration after edging Lewis Gregory high to second slip where Tom Abell sticks up his mitts and grabs it.

Smart catch and, judging by the celebrations, Somerset feel that could be the key wicket.

  9. Back under way at Northwoodpublished at 14:04 BST 4 September

    Middx 247 & 200 v Lancs 151 & 7-0

Toby Roland-Jones has a lunch inside him and the ball in hand as Keaton Jennings (7*) taps the crease at the other end. Matty Hurst is yet to score at the non-striker's end.

  10. Back underway at The Ovalpublished at 14:03 BST 4 September

    Surrey 90-5 v Yorks - target 185

Josh Blake scores a boundary off the second ball of the session as Surrey resume their run chase in this extraordinary and crucial match.

Surrey have got their target down to double figures needing 95 more but Yorkshire still look favourites requiring five more wickets.

Yorkshire have three absolute quality bowlers. An amazing fightback!

    Neil, Keighley

An absolutely vintage Ben Coad performance thus far in what has been a freak of a game. Come on White Rose!

    Dean, Leeds

So what has happened to Surrey's superstars? Is there something going on behind the scenes?

    Norman, Milford

I would like to reassure Colin from Wales (13:26) that there is a rigorous protocol in place for pitch inspections pre, during and post matches against an agreed standard. No county gets special treatment. There are other factors to consider including quality of batting & bowling and overhead conditions.

    Chris, Hants

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:01 BST 4 September

    Stewart b Taylor 15 (Kent 238 & 294-6 v Worcestershire 205)

It's official: Tom Taylor hates ANY stump in the ground.

Fresh from removing Sam Northeast's middle and leg poles the Worcestershire seamer has plucked out Grant Stewart's centre stump and sent it backflipping.

Stewart's a little late on it - again there's a touch of in-jag - as he plays forward and loses his furniture.

Keith Dudgeon's the new man - half expected him to walk out with some spring-loaded stumps to save the umpires time. But he hasn't.

    Kent's lead a mighty 315

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:59 BST 4 September

Douthwaite lbw b Leach 0 (Glam 148-7, trail by 99 runs)

Jack Leach has another and that is two since lunch.

No doubts about the first after Chris Cooke was tempted to take on Craig Overton's bumper.

But there could en a little bit of a question mark over this one with Dan Douthwaite hit pretty high on his back pad/inside thigh.

Replays would suggest that could be given or could be refused so it was not a howler by any stretch.

Just three more to get now and Somerset are circling.

  14. Son of Darren trying to fight backpublished at 13:57 BST 4 September

    Hants 115 & 49-2 v Warks 398

Jake Lehmann whips a Manav Suthar delivery away through the covers for his fifth boundary.

Son of Australian international and current Northants coach Darren, Lehmann has been Hampshire's best batter this season averaging nearly 50.

He could be the key if Hampshire are to change the flow of this match.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:56 BST 4 September

    Karvelas c Westley b Ahkter 22 (Sussex 207-9, lead by 305 runs)

Ari Karvelas his mistimed this drive but he thought he had got away with it but Tom Westley has timed a jump perfectly to pluck it out of the air at mid off.

Sussex look to have enough already but with James Coles still going well on 62 they will hope hat-trick hero Henry Crocombe can help them to another 20 or 30 runs.

  16. wicket

WICKETSpublished at 13:54 BST 4 September

    Glos 237 v Derbyshire 269-7

Gloucestershire have made some early inroads in the afternoon session in Bristol with a couple of quick scalps.

Sai Kishore bowled Aneurin Donald (26) attempting to scoop the spinner, before Ollie Price picked up his third wicket, having Brooke Guest caught for a four-ball duck at short leg.

Derbyshire have added 16 since lunch for those two losses and lead by 32.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:52 BST 4 September

    Cooke c Thomas b Overton 20 (Glam 143-6, trail by 104 runs)

Big breakthrough for Somerset as Chris Cooke is tempted into the hook by Craig Overton and holes out to Josh Thomas at deep square leg.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:46 BST 4 September

    Northeast b Taylor 132 (238 & 278-5 v Worcestershire 205)

    Third ball of the afternoon!

Northeast's princely innings comes to an end as two thirds of his stumps are splattered by Tom Taylor.

Might have been an inside edge, maybe not, as it whistled though bat and pad but the there's no doubt about the end of his knock - nor the quality of it.

Brilliant effort. Worcestershire's heavy shoulders ever so slighty lifted after finally seeing the back of him.

  19. Back after lunch at Southamptonpublished at 13:41 BST 4 September

    Hants 115 & 40-2 v Warks 398

The umpires and players are walking back to the middle after lunch on day three at Southampton.

Can Warwickshire get the eight wickets they need for victory during this session?

  20. Postpublished at 13:41 BST 4 September

    Somerset 441 v Glam 194 & 135-5

After a watchful start following lunch, Sean Dickson and Chris Cooke are rattling along at a decent clip now with 22 runs coming from the last 13 balls.
