    Fisher c Luxton b Hill 33 (Surrey 170-8 v Yorks - target 185)

    Oh my days!

Is there hope for Yorkshire? Matt Fisher's positive innings is ended as he edges George Hill to Will Luxton at third slip.

Surrey need 15, Yorkshire need two wickets.

    A tie anybody?

  2. wicket

    Jack lbw Hannon-Dalby 2 (Hants 115 & 149-9 f/o v Warks 398)

    Warwickshire one wicket away.

Olly Hannon-Dalby continues a good season for the Pears and the Bears with his fifth wicket of the match and Eddie Jack is gone.

  3. Postpublished at 16:53 BST 4 September

    Surrey 170-7 v Yorks - target 185

An inside edge from Matt Fisher misses the stumps and further frustrates bowler Ben Coad.

    Shaikh c Haynes b Stone 39 (Notts 451-8 dec v Leics 206-4)

A wicket has fallen at Trent Bridge - for just the second time today.

And it's not Josh Hull who is still on for a maiden century - he's just 14 runs away now.

The man to depart is Hamza Shaikh for 39 as Olly Stone grabs his first dismissal.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:50 BST 4 September

    Balderson b Helm 0 (Lancs 108-8 Target 297)

Pace. A decent line. Tentative prod with the bat. Check. Check. Check.

All a recipe for off stump being removed after a decent delivery from Tom Helm who now has 3-29.

George Balderson lasts just three balls as Lancs go from 107-4 to 108-8 inside 12 deliveries.

  6. Chaos at The Ovalpublished at 16:49 BST 4 September

    Surrey 168-7 v Yorks - target 185

    It's all happening.

Matt Fisher believes he's hit a boundary only to be denied by a brilliant stop from Kuldeep Yadav.

Fisher then goes for a run, is sent back and has to dive into the dust to avoid being run out.

  7. Durham chugging onpublished at 16:49 BST 4 September

    Northants 263 v Durham 205 & 175-4

Ben Stokes plays a shotImage source, Getty Images

After two wickets in 13 balls, Durham have calmed the situation.

Ben Stokes and Mayank Agarwal have taken the lead out to 114 with six wickets in the bank.

Stokes has been watchful but also improved well - reverse lashing Yuzvendra Chahal to the fence and then bunting Ben Sanderson through mid-off for four more.

    He has 15 from 31, Agarwal 17 from 34

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:47 BST 4 September

    Currie b Hannon-Dalby 3 (Hants 115 & 145-8 f/o v Warks 398)

Lovely delivery from Olly Hannon-Dalby which nips back and knocks Scott Currie's bails off.

Two wickets needed by Warwickshire and only the fading light can surely prevent them getting there today.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:46 BST 4 September

    Walkden c Duke b Roland Jones 1 (Lancs 108-7 Target 297)

Ben Walkden thinks about playing, decides not to but flicks the bottom of the bat as he tries to withdraw.

The edge goes through to Harry Duke and Lancs lose a third wicket in seven deliveries.

This is going to be over pretty soon.

  10. 50 runs

50 partnership for Surreypublished at 16:44 BST 4 September

    Surrey 168-7 v Yorks - target 185

Jack White can't believe he hasn't made the breakthrough.

It's a brilliant inswinger which beats Matt Fisher and misses the stumps by a lick of varnish.

Two balls later Fisher hits another boundary followed by a single and Surrey need 17.

  11. Yorkshire bowlers still hopingpublished at 16:41 BST 4 September

    Surrey 161-7 v Yorks - target 185

This appears to be slipping away from Yorkshire but their bowlers are still making the ball do things. It's just not translating into wickets.

George Hill bowls a maiden during which he beats the bat a couple of times.

Josh Blake is showing incredible patience and Matt Fisher adds a couple more to get Surrey to within 22.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:41 BST 4 September

    Shetty lbw b Helm 8 (Lancs 108-6 Target 297)

It's two in three balls for Tom Helm who now has 2-29 and five in the match.

Fired in from wide on the crease and arrowing straight at middle stump this hits Arav Shetty low on the back pad.

Not much doubt about that one. It is be hoped Lancs checked out of their hotel this morning because they are checking out of this game.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:38 BST 4 September

    Hurst c Geddes b Helm 38 (Lancs 107-5 Target 297)

Tom Helm has got this to lift ferociously at Matty Hurst and the batsman can only try to fend it with soft hands down into the slip cordon.

It takes the edge too high on the bat and pops up to Ben Geddes at first slip. The game is sliding out of Lancs grasp here.

  14. Can Hull reach a remarkable century?published at 16:38 BST 4 September

    Leicestershire 202-3 v Nottinghamshire 451-8 dec

    Josh HullImage source, Rex Features

Before today, Josh Hull's best score was 35*, now, he is moving towards a remarkable century.

He's relied on four shots essentially, driving down the ground and through midwicket, a late dab fine on the off-side and the slog-sweep to a tiny boundary.

He has played seemingly unincumbered. A calm and determined innings - and, with Hamza Shaikh similarly watchful, The Foxes are building a solid reply.

But surely, surely, Josh Hull cannot get a century? If he does, it will be a remarkable innings, one of true grit.

A small issue, the run rate, the visitors need bonus points to stay up. They have 29 overs to get to 250 and one bonus point (which they should do) but going at 2.3 an over, they may not get many more than that.

However, a draw is much better than risking defeat. Though Surrey closing in on victory means this watchful approach may count against them later in the season. Now that they should be thinking about that.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:37 BST 4 September

    Libby c Benjamin b Milnes 18 (Kent 238 & 358 v Worcestershire 217 & 39-3)

    Worcestershire pear-ishing.

It's the type of dismissal when the game's against you, seem to happen.

Jake Libby, on 18, has tried to take his bat out of the way at the last moment but he's just not quick enough as he tugs it away and the ball flicks the under edge and flies through to Chris Benjamin.

    Kent cock-a-hoop.

    Worcestershire feeling hoopless.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:35 BST 4 September

    Allison c Carter b Carson 42 (Essex 150-4 Target 329)

    Charlie AllisonImage source, Shutterstock

A third big hit off Jack Carson proves one bite too many.

Charlie Allison takes a step towards going big again but doesn't quite reach it, the ball turns and his swipe flicks out to midwicket where Oli Carter takes a low catch.

That is a massive blow for Essex.

  17. Postpublished at 16:35 BST 4 September

    Essex 150-3 Target 329

Charlie Allison is staying on the front foot despite the match situation and has just lifted Jack Carson for a second consecutive huge six back over his head.

Allison has moved on to 42 from 62 balls with shots to long off and long on and Matt Critchley is not hanging around either with 35 from 35 balls.

That brings up the 150 for Essex.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:34 BST 4 September

    Fuller c Barnard b Suthar 2 (Hants 115 & 134-7 f/o v Warks 398)

Manav Suthar gets his sixth of the match.

James Fuller can only guide the ball straight to Ed Barnard at slip.

    Warwickshire need three more.

  19. England call-ups for Donald & Crocombepublished at 16:29 BST 4 September

Some breaking news regarding a couple of players involved in this round of County Championship fixtures.

England have named the uncapped Aneurin Donald and Henry Crocombe in their squads for the white-ball series against Sri Lanka.

Derbyshire's Donald has been included in the 16-player squad for the T20 series, while Sussex seamer Crocombe makes the 16-man line-up for the one-day internationals.

Jacob Bethell misses out because of injury and Durham seamer Brydon Carse has not been included.

The opening T20 of the three-match series is at Southampton on 15 September, followed by three ODIs starting at Chester-le-Street on 22 September.

Crocombe made himself difficult to ignore, taking hat-tricks in his past two County Championship matches.

  20. Surrey fans getting excitedpublished at 16:29 BST 4 September

    Surrey 161-7 v Yorks - target 185

Every run being heartily cheered now by the Surrey supporters at The Oval.

Matt Fisher pushes one through and runs three.

He practically gets a standing ovation.

Surrey 24 away. Yorkshire still need three wickets.
