  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:20 BST 16 September

    Bairstow c Vaughan b Gregory 1 - Yorkshire 212 & 45-5 v Somerset 201

Brilliant catch from Archie Vaughan, diving to his left and taking the ball above his head!

It was not a great ball from Lewis Gregory.

Short, wide and drilled powerfully by Jonny Bairstow into the off side.

Not an easy catch at all. One for the ages.

George Hill is next to face an uphill struggle in the innings.

    The lead is 56.

  2. 200 runs

200 up for Northantspublished at 16:17 BST 16 September

    Northants 201-4 v Derbyshire 372

Calvin Harrison and James Sales have been tasked with the repair job after Northants lost two wickets just before tea.

The duo have moved the hosts over 200 runs and closer to that first batting point.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:16 BST 16 September

    Albert b A Patel 39 - Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 214 & 177-2

Success for left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel, who had largely bowled tidily for no reward up to this point.

Toby Albert goes back to cut and bottom edges the ball into his off stump. Not enough room for the shot really.

    Jake Lehmann to bat next.

  4. Postpublished at 16:16 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 45-4 v Somerset 201

Jake Ball is wide of off stump and Sam Whiteman slaps that gratefully through point for four.

Somerset captain Lewis Gregory takes over bowling duties from the Howard Stand End.

  5. wicket

WARWICKSHIRE NEED 133 RUNS TO WINpublished at 16:15 BST 16 September
    Breaking

    Essex 134 & 189 v Warwickshire 191

Debutant Jack Auld faces four balls before falling lbw to Chris Woakes and that is the end of Essex's innings.

Not nearly as many runs on the board as Essex looked like getting when they went in for tea 167-5.

But the loss of George Bell prompted a collapse as the final five wickets fell for just 20 runs in eight overs.

It all means that the Bears need 133 runs to win, maintain their title push and put the pressure on Somerset and Notts.

There are 20 overs left in the day - how do the visitors approach them?

  6. Postpublished at 16:13 BST 16 September

    Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 214 & 176-1

Tom Scriven is leg side bowling to Toby Albert, who guides the ball away for a single.

    147 in front now.

  7. new ball

New ball at the Ovalpublished at 16:12 BST 16 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 267-3

Plenty of shape away from the bat for Dan Worrall, who returns for a new spell. No real danger, though, with Glamorgan able to leave anything not pitched on the stumps. They lead by 284.

  8. Postpublished at 16:12 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 40-4 v Somerset 201

Big LBW appeal from Craig Overton against Sam Whiteman on 25.

Not out. Nipping in quite a lot and perhaps doing too much.

A drive down the ground is deflected by Overton into the non-striker's stumps.

Jonny Bairstow was in his ground. Actually that ball hit his pad and bounced into the stumps.

    An eventful maiden over.

  9. 6 runs

for Simpsonpublished at 16:11 BST 16 September

    Sussex 208-5 v Notts 240

John Simpson dances down the track and smashes Liam Patterson-White for six over long off.

Big hit and Simpson is onto 20 from 26 balls.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:09 BST 16 September

    Shetty c Benjamin b Khaled 11 (Kent 214 v Lancashire 161 & 145-6)

The tea break does the trick for Kent.

Khaled Ahmed gets it to move a little and Arav Shetty has a nibble outside off stump.

It finds the edge on the way through to Chris Benjamin and Khaled picks up his third wicket of the Lancashire innings and eighth of the match.

    Lancashire lead by 92 runs.

  11. Postpublished at 16:08 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 40-4 v Somerset 201

A beauty from Jake Ball, angled in and nipping away from Matthew Revis - who looked unsure whether to play or leave.

Jonny Bairstow tries to flick his first ball away leg side and almost guides the ball into his leg stump.

Missing by a coat or two of varnish. The lead is 51.

    Wicket maiden for Jake Ball.

  12. 200 runs

200 up for Sussexpublished at 16:08 BST 16 September

    Sussex 200-5 v Notts 240

Sussex reach 200. They need 41 more to go into the lead. They need 50 more to get a batting point.

  13. Postpublished at 16:08 BST 16 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 266-3

Dan Lawrence continues his spell at the Oval.

There's not much turn there but it's certainly a tidy over and Lawrence now has 0-17 from six.

    Time for the new ball.

  14. wicket

FIVE WICKETS FOR SUTHARpublished at 16:07 BST 16 September

    Cook lbw Suthar 2 (Essex 134 & 186-9 v Warwickshire 191)

Manav Suthar pins Sam Cook lbw to pick up his fifth wicket of the innings.

The Essex innings has rather fallen apart in the overs since tea.

They had looked comfortable 167-5 at the interval but since then the Bears bowlers have been on the prowl for wickets.

Debutant Jack Auld, just 17 years of age, is the last man in.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:05 BST 16 September

    Revis c Abell b Ball 2 - Yorkshire 212 & 40-4 v Somerset 201

Matthew Revis has been there for an hour for two runs.

Jake Ball is into the attack. Revis aims a drive to mid off and is blocked by Somerset captain Lewis Gregory.

    Out!

Short of a length and pushed from the crease to Tom Abell at first slip!

Yorkshire captain Jonny Bairstow makes his way to the middle.

  16. Play resumes at St Lawrence Groundpublished at 16:05 BST 16 September

    Kent 214 v Lancashire 161 & 142-5

    Back under way in Canterbury.

This has been a compelling match given the relatively low-scoring nature of it.

Who will take control in this evening session? It's there for either side still.

  17. Women's One-Day Cup updatepublished at 16:03 BST 16 September

Hampshire have completed their 50 overs in the semi-final against Surrey and piled up a score of 303-5.

Maia Bouchier finished on 117 not out from 122 balls, sharing stands of 110 with Freya Kemp (77) and 109 with Abi Norgrove (60).

    Tear b Patterson-White 50 (Sussex 198-5 v Notts 240)

Liam Patterson-White bowls for NottsImage source, Getty Images

That is an absolute jaffa from Liam Patterson-White.

The left-arm spinner gets it to drift across to pitch outside leg stump and it spins an absolute mile to clatter into middle and off and even rip off stump out the ground.

There is nothing Charlie Tear could've done about that and he goes for 50 just after tea.

Not quite Shane Warne to Mike Gatting but it had a similar trajectory.

  19. Postpublished at 16:02 BST 16 September

    Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 214 & 168-1

Leg stump half volley from Tom Scriven and Toby Albert helps the ball away fine for four.

    Little threat there for Hampshire.

Back of a length, leg side - and four more pulled in front of square.

  20. Postpublished at 16:01 BST 16 September

    Sussex 198-4 v Notts 240

Mukesh Kumar starts with a maiden in the first over after tea for Notts.

Liam Patterson-White will bowl some spin from the other end now.
