KENT 214 ALL OUTpublished at 11:38 BST 16 September
    Breaking

    Quinn b Stanley 13 (Kent 214 v Lancashire 161)

Well it was fun while it lasted for the Kent tailender.

Matt Quinn hits two fours off Mitch Stanley and then goes for another big heave-ho.

This time, he completely misses it and Stanley clatters his stumps.

Kent have built up a lead of 53 runs, which in a relatively low-scoring contest, might prove to be incredibly valuable.

We'll find out just how valuable when Lancashire come out to bat shortly.

  2. Postpublished at 11:38 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 117-8

Migael Pretorius is no silent partner in this ninth wicket stand with Craig Overton.

He seizes on a bit of width from George Hill and stays back to carve the bowler over the slips for four.

A fuller ball is driven through long off for four more.

  3. Division Two updatepublished at 11:38 BST 16 September

Worcestershire have just begun their reply to Durham's 465 all out at the Riverside. Ben Raine's opening over is a maiden to Jake Libby.

Gloucestershire are 35-0 in the 11th over, replying to Middlesex's 326 all out. Joe Phillips is 18 not out and Olly Price has nine.

  4. Postpublished at 11:38 BST 16 September

    Kent 214-9 v Lancashire 161

The home crowd are enjoying what they're seeing here from tailender Matt Quinn.

He smashes one down the ground for four off Mitch Stanley and then repeats the trick with another four to cow corner.

That's his third boundary in relatively quick succession and he moves onto 13.

More importantly, Kent's lead is more than 50 now.

  5. Postpublished at 11:36 BST 16 September

    Sussex 30-1 v Notts 240

George Thomas flicks one off his legs from Olly Stone and that races away to the boundary for four.

Sussex are 30-1 after 11 overs.

  6. Foxes move aheadpublished at 11:36 BST 16 September

    Leicestershire 217-8 v Hampshire 214

Successive boundaries for Ajaz Patel, who drives Manny Lumsden through the off side and pulls a shorter ball stylishly over mid wicket.

There's some punishment for Scott Currie in the next over too as Patel craves the bowler through backward point.

Leicestershire move in front on first innings.

  7. Postpublished at 11:36 BST 16 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 78-0

Over an hour gone and still no breakthrough for Surrey at the Oval.

Asa Tribe is 31 not out and Zain ul-Hassan has 28.

Tom Lawes will bowl the next over.

As a neutral, Somerset winning the championship would be amazing. That would mean Somerset not performing like Somerset of the past and casting away the near misses. Remaining optimistic in spite of ongoing events!

    Matt, Sussex

  9. Postpublished at 11:33 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 107-8

A single to Migael Pretorious - and a superb drive to long on from Craig Overton brings four.

    Matthew Revis overpitching.

Overton gets a single off the last ball of the over to keep the strike.

  10. Postpublished at 11:32 BST 16 September

    Kent 206-9 v Lancashire 161

Hello, Matt Quinn. How about this from the number 11.

A wonderfully timed straight drive to ease Mitch Stanley down the ground for four.

Kent will really hope Quinn can eke out a few more of those.

The hosts lead by 45 runs.

  11. 50 runs

50 up for Northantspublished at 11:31 BST 16 September

    Northants 60-0 v Derbyshire 372

Northants' openers have upped the ante and pushed their side past 50 in their reply.

Vasconcelos on 33 and Procter on 20 and together they have put on 45 runs in the opening hour.

  12. Postpublished at 11:31 BST 16 September

    Leicestershire 202-8 v Hampshire 214

A batting point feels a bit far off for Leicestershire in this innings but the team passes 200 in the 55th over, as Ajaz Patel scrambles a leg bye off a Scott Currie no ball.

  13. Postpublished at 11:29 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 102-8

A double change. George Hill comes on in place of Ben Coad.

Migael Pretorius is back driving into the off side. No run.

He gets one into the leg side driving off an inside edge to keep the strike, which Yorkshire probably won't mind at this stage.

  14. 200 runs

200 up for Kentpublished at 11:29 BST 16 September

    Kent 201-9 v Lancashire 161

    Kent have stumbled to 200.

From looking in a promising position to push for a batting point when they were 198-7 with Zak Crawley at the crease, it now looks increasingly unlikely the hosts will get to 250.

  15. 'A splendid innings by Hain'published at 11:28 BST 16 September

    Essex 134 v Warwickshire 191 - Warwicks lead by 57 runs

    Dick Davies
    BBC Essex

A splendid innings by Hain who really guided the good ship Warwickshire to a challenging total.

Hain has 884 runs for the season, putting him fourth in the Division One run-scorers chart. He has hit eight half-centuries but has only once reached 100.

Over the moon for Ben Cliff. Seems like a lovely lad and looks to have worked hard to make a name in the Yorkshire squad!

    Katie, York

The 23-year-old has taken a career-best 6-44 for Yorkshire in Somerset's first innings.

    Haines c Slater b Stone 13 (Sussex 25-1 v Notts 240)

    Breakthrough for Nottinghamshire!

Stand-in Sussex captain Tom Haines flicks through mid-wicket from Olly Stone but Ben Slater is there to dive low to his right and take a fine catch.

Just as we were about to say Sussex have been largely untroubled so far in the first nine overs.

    That's cricket for you!

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:24 BST 16 September

    Shaikh c Currie b Lumsden 63 - Leicestershire 196-8 v Hampshire 214

A very important partnership of 48 is broken by Manny Lumsden in the first over of a new spell.

Hamza Shaikh is back, trying to withdraw the bat and edging high to a crouching Scott Currie, who takes it comfortably in front of his face at second slip.

    Ajaz Patel is in.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:24 BST 16 September

    Robinson c Singh b Taylor 97 (Durham 465 v Worcs)

    What a shame.

Having waited for the one to hit, Ollie Robinson attempts a cover drive but gets an inside edge and the ball lobs to mid-on where replacement Fateh Singh takes the catch to deny him a century.

Robinson faced 129 balls and hit nine fours, but does have the consolation of maximum batting points for his team.

The wicket gives Tom Taylor final figures of 3-66.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:23 BST 16 September

    Khaled lbw b Stanley 0 (Kent 198-9 v Lancashire 161)

    Don't leave the straight one...

From 198-7, Kent are now 198-9 after Khaled Ahmed throws his arms up to let it go but it's gun-barrel straight from Mitch Stanley and that's two in one over for the Lancashire bowler.
