    Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 100-8

Migael Pretorius holds the pose after a lovely straight drive off the bowling of Ben Coad. Four runs and a pleasing advertisement for the bat manufacturer.

Matthew Revis joins the attack from the other end and Craig Overton takes Somerset to 100 in the 40th over with a forward push into the leg side.

  2. Postpublished at 11:20 BST 16 September

    Leicestershire 196-7 v Hampshire 214

Tom Scriven is into the 30s with another four, a back foot punch through cover off James Fuller.

Scott Currie is too full and wide to Hamza Shaikh in the next over and that ball is driven to point for two.

A leg bye follows in the third ball.

Currie gets some late inswing and Scriven jabs a little awkwardly into the leg side.

  3. WARWICKSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 191published at 11:18 BST 16 September

    Hannon-Dalby c Walter b Critchley 4 (Essex 134 v Warwickshire 191)

Paul Walter makes no mistake with this one and Matt Critchley dismisses Olly Hannon-Dalby to bring the Bears innings to a close with Sam Hain stranded on 88 not out.

The Bears duo added exactly 40 runs in about 45 minutes of play to give the visitors a first innings lead of 57 runs.

You get the feeling Hain will be disappointed that the innings ended there but the lead has been pushed out to decent one now.

Hannon-Dalby lasted 29 balls with his only runs coming from a four when Walter dropped a catch in the slips.

    Crawley lbw b Stanley 84 (Kent 198-8 v Lancashire 161)

Big wicket for Lancashire and there will be no ton for Zak Crawley.

The ex-England Test batter is trapped in front by Mitch Stanley and this time he has to go.

An excellent innings by Crawley nonetheless, with 84 from 120 balls and he is the reason Kent have a lead of 37 runs at this stage.

  5. Postpublished at 11:16 BST 16 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 68-0

Too full from Auqib Nabi and Asa Tribe eases it away to left of Rory Burns at mid-on and away for four runs.

Excellent timing and Glamorgan are now 86 ahead.

  6. Postpublished at 11:16 BST 16 September

    Sussex 22-0 v Notts 240

Two more to the total for Sussex as George Thomas drives straight down the ground from Olly Stone. Haseeb Hameed races to the boundary to stop the four.

It's a much brighter day in Hove than we had for most of yesterday so far this morning.

  7. Postpublished at 11:16 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 95-8

Three slips in for Ben Cliff as he bowls to Migael Pretorius, but that ball is leg side and flicked away for one.

Craig Overton is forward to drive but doesn't clear long off.

Pretorius on strike for the next over.

    Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 95-8

A time where Warks and Notts struggling for bonus points and in tight games and somerset could of really cemented themselves at the top.... instead, they decide to bottle it and crumble and take themselves out of even the win. Absolutely pathetic!! All that hard work down the drain

    Craig, Devon

A long way to go yet, Craig, but granted, it's not looking great at this stage for Somerset, who trail by 117 runs with two wickets remaining.

  9. Postpublished at 11:14 BST 16 September

    Leicestershire 186-7 v Hampshire 214

The runs are starting to flow for Leicestershire, now within 30 runs of parity.

Tom Scriven gets another four, driving Kyle Abbott with a flowing blade through cover.

10 runs off the over in total.

  10. 'A palpable chance'published at 11:13 BST 16 September

    Essex 134 v Warwickshire 185-9

    Dick Davies
    BBC Essex

I think it was a palpable chance. It’s Paul Walter to his left at about waist height. At this level, it might sound a little harsh, but there’s no real excuse. Cold hands possibly. He got both hands apparently wrapped around it so very disappointing from Essex’s point of view.

Paul Walter dropping a dolly at first slip that would've ended the Warks innings. If that doesn't sum up Essex's season I don't know what does

    Connor, Southend

Essex letting the tail wag yet again!

    Kent 195-7 v Lancashire 161

Matt Milnes continues to go along at a nice pace for Kent, pulling Mitch Stanley for four through mid-wicket.

He's onto 38 from 62 balls and Kent are now 34 runs ahead of Lancashire.

  13. Postpublished at 11:11 BST 16 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 63-0

So far, so good for Glamorgan as Tom Lawes begins his first over of the second day.

Zain-ul-Hassan tucks it down to long leg for a single and moves to 24 not out.

  14. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:09 BST 16 September

    Essex 134 v Warwickshire 184-9

Of course what might stop Sam Hain reaching a century is batting partner Olly Hannon-Dalby not being able to stay in and he's been given a reprieve here.

Sam Cook finds the edge of Hannon-Dalby's bat but it goes through Paul Walter who gets a hand to it at first slip but can't cling on and even worse for the Essex fielders is that it runs away for four.

  15. Postpublished at 11:09 BST 16 September

    Leicestershire 176-7 v Hampshire 214

A rare boundary for Leicestershire this morning as Tom Scriven scoops Scott Currie fine down the leg side.

    38 behind now.

Crawley dropped at first slip off Anderson - make them pay, Zak!

    Brian, Canterbury

  17. Postpublished at 11:08 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 92-8

Four runs to Craig Overton, hitting between long leg and square leg.

A swing and a miss as Ben Cliff tempts him with width.

An attempted cut to point - missed again. There's a run into the off side via a push to cover.

Migael Pretorius sees out the over.

  18. Postpublished at 11:07 BST 16 September

    Kent 191-7 v Lancashire 161

Zak Crawley was dropped in the slips off the bowling of former England team-mate James Anderson about 10 minutes ago.

Crawley picks up three more - a single and a two - from Anderson's latest over and is now 19 runs shy of a ton.

How much will Lancashire rue that missed chance to get the Kent opener?

  19. 450 up for Durhampublished at 11:05 BST 16 September

    Durham 450-9 v Worcestershire

It was touch and go, but Durham do have the fifth batting point as Ollie Robinson tucks Matthew Waite to square leg for a single.

The question now is 'can Callum Parkinson stay with Robinson while he tries to complete a century?'

He is now 89 not out.

  20. Hain on a mission?published at 11:05 BST 16 September

    Essex 134 v Warwickshire 171-9

Another absolutely beautiful stroke from Sam Hain to move to 77.

I just wonder if Hain is a man on a mission to make it to a century today.

He is the fourth-highest run scorer in Division One with 865 but only has one century this season.
