  1. 50 runs

50 for Craig Overton with a sixpublished at 12:39 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 187-9

Lunch will be delayed by up to half an hour with Somerset nine down.

Craig Overton goes big, belting Ben Cliff just over the head of Sam Whiteman deep in the off side. Six!

That's a priceless 50 off 103 balls with five fours plus that maximum.

His sixth score of 50 or more this season sealed with a six.

You can't help but admire the symmetry.

  2. Lunch at Bristolpublished at 12:39 BST 16 September

    Gloucestershire 68-1 v Middlesex 326

Gloucestershire get through to lunch with only one wicket down after making short work of Middlesex's final-wicket pairing this morning.

The visitors only added two to their total before JT Langridge removed Danru Ferns, leaving Toby Roland-Jones on 45 not out.

TRJ then bowled typical new-ball spell of seven overs which cost just 15 runs, but it was first-change Seb Morgan who picked up the only wicket so far, Joe Phillips falling caught behind for 23.

Ollie Pirice is 15 not out at the interval with Tommy Boorman on 14.

  3. 50 runs

50 partnership for Sussexpublished at 12:38 BST 16 September

    Sussex 87-2 v Notts 240

Tom Clark pushes Mukesh Kumar through the covers for three.

Clark (43*) and Charlie Tear (13*) have now put on 52 runs for the third wicket.

  4. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 12:37 BST 16 September

    Essex 134 & 67-1 v Warwickshire 191

Time for some lunch after a busy morning which saw Essex end the Bears' innings and retake a slender lead shortly before the interval.

Resuming on 151-9 Sam Hain (88*) and Olly Hannon-Dalby pushed Warwickshire's lead out to 57 before the latter was last man out.

Essex's openers started confidently, Dean Elgar the foil to Paul Walter's more attacking strokes as the home side got their noses back in front.

But Walter tried one expansive shot too many and was caught by Chris Woakes in the deep with Essex 10 runs ahead.

  5. Disappointment for Robinson in CLSpublished at 12:36 BST 16 September

    Durham 465 v Worcestershire 60-0 - lunch

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Ollie Robinson had been batting nicely in the Durham first innings, but then seemed to struggle with uneven bounce from the Lumley End.

He played a few one-handed shots to balls which pitched and didn't get up. And sadly he was out just three runs short of what would have been his first century for more than a year.

He was on 97 when he chipped a ball from Tom Taylor straight to sub Fateh Singh at mid-on. His last century was 141 in a home win against Notts, in May last year. It's been a long, hard road since then.

Worcestershire have lost the services of Ben Gibbon and Usama Mir to injury. They have been replaced by Fateh Singh and George O'Connor, the latter making his first-class debut.

Worcestershire will need to make 316 to avoid the follow on. Good luck on that front - but they have reached lunch on 60-0.

A win would see Durham reach 10 victories in a season, equalling their record from the title-winning season of 2013. It would also be seven wins in a row for the first time.

  6. Postpublished at 12:34 BST 16 September

    Sussex 83-2 v Notts 240

Tom Clark edges Liam Patterson-White behind square on the off-side but it races away for four.

Clark is 11 runs shy of his 50 now.

  7. Lunch at Grace Roadpublished at 12:34 BST 16 September

    Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 212 & 20-0

Nick Gubbins is up and running with a brace of fours off Nathan Gilchrist, both aesthetically pleasing drives through the off side.

A maiden over from Ian Holland follows and Hampshire go into lunch 10 behind Leicestershire on first innings with all 10 wickets in hand.

  8. Lunch at St Lawrence Groundpublished at 12:33 BST 16 September

    Kent 214 v Lancashire 161 & 38-1

Kent built up a lead of 53 runs this morning before they were bowled out for 214.

The hosts then got the early wicket of Keaton Jennings but Lancashire have steadied the ship with Michael Jones (20*) and Josh Bohannon (14*) to reduce the deficit to just 15 runs at lunch.

This contest is very much still in the balance as things stand.

Much will hinge on whether Lancashire can produce better than they managed in their first innings.

  9. Lunch at the Ovalpublished at 12:33 BST 16 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 115-2

Tense stuff at the Oval this morning following yesterday's bowler-dominated proceedings and Glamorgan may be slightly the happier side at lunch.

They have added 85 to their overnight 30-0, stretching their lead to 132, but have lost Zain ul-Hassan and Jack Hope-Bell in the process, both dismissed by Surrey replacement James Taylor.

There is still movement there for the seamers and Asa Tribe has been beaten countless times by Dan Worrall, but the opener has battled through to reach 44 not out at the interval.

Kiran Carlsion drove Worrall for four in the final over of the morning session and he has 11.

  10. Woakes' 'wonderful' catch to dismiss Walterpublished at 12:31 BST 16 September

    Essex 134 & 62-1 v Warwickshire 191

    Kit Harris
    BBC Sport commentator

Walter's slog sweep is really high and Woakes takes a wonderful diving catch. He had to track that about 25 yards and he had his eye on it the whole time. Walter looked to mow it over mid-wicket but he has fallen as he flourished, attempting a big shot into the leg side.

  11. Postpublished at 12:30 BST 16 September

    Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 180-9

Jake Ball is off the mark with a back foot drive behind point for four.

Ball nearly takes a run off the last ball of the Ben Cliff over to deep third but Craig Overton isn't having a bar of it.

He'll now face Ben Coad on 44.

  12. 6 runs

for Josh Bohannonpublished at 12:30 BST 16 September

    Kent 214 v Lancashire 161 & 36-1

It's back of a length from Khaled Ahmed and it's maximum profit for Josh Bohannon, who goes with a big pull over mid-wicket for six.

The very next ball, the Kent fielders think Bohannon has nicked off to Chris Benjamin but it's a half-hearted appeal and the umpires says no.

  13. Postpublished at 12:28 BST 16 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 106-2

That's the danger of standing up to the quicks.

Ben Foakes takes a painful one on the bicep as Auqib Nabi finds some extra bounce to Kiran Carlson.

The ball rebounds to second slip who ensures no extras are added to the score.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:26 BST 16 September

    Pretorius c Hill b Cliff 58 - Yorkshire 212 v Somerset 176-9

Seven wickets for Ben Cliff - who has prized out Migael Pretorius.

The Somerset number 10 is back to chop the bowler to deep third and edges high to George Hill at first slip.

That stand with Craig Overton was worth 90.

Jake Ball to face the next ball.

  15. Postpublished at 12:26 BST 16 September

    Kent 214 v Lancashire 161 & 28-1

Michael Jones drives straight down the ground for four off Khaled Ahmed and that just chips away a little more at Kent's lead.

Lancashire are now just 25 runs behind with nine wickets still in the hut.

Tom Scriven has scored back-to-back half centuries

Cricket is a funny game, isn't it? The Grace Road crowd waited with baited breath to see if Leicestershire could squeak past Hampshire's first innings total and also get a batting bonus point.

They did the former, but not the latter. Hampshire, of all teams, can tell you the value of one point (having stayed up by that margin last year).

The Foxes added 96 to their overnight total for a lead of 30 but Tom Scriven, who batted wonderfully for his half century, perhaps could have managed the strike better to get to 250.

The tail has got them out of the mire again, their batting line-up need to stand up in the fourth innings to take advantage of a slim lead.

They will now hope to skittle out Hampshire and head towards a much needed win.

  17. Postpublished at 12:23 BST 16 September

    Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 214 & 7-0

A single off the opening over from Ian Holland.

Felix Organ latches on to a short and wide ball from Tom Scriven, guiding it away for a four.

Scriven gets one to nip away on a good length though.

Nick Gubbins is getting some away movement to deal with from Holland's second over but survives.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:23 BST 16 September

    Walter c Woakes b Suthar 42 (Essex 134 & 62-1 v Warwickshire 191)

Essex get their noses in front... but lose Paul Walter.

Tall Paul tried a lofted sweep but it flies off the top of the bat very high into the sky - Chris Woakes follows it nicely and takes a great catch!

It came off the back of a couple of lovely shots for four but Walter mistimed that one - it felt like it was in the air for ages.

  19. Postpublished at 12:22 BST 16 September

    Kent 214 v Lancashire 161 & 23-1

Short from Khaled Ahmed and Lancashire opening bat Michael Jones says thank you very much.

He swats it away for four on the hook with real power.

Jones was the top scorer for Lancashire in their first innings with 44 and is onto 14 in the second.

His side really need him to produce again this afternoon.

  20. 50 runs

50 for Ricardo Vasconcelospublished at 12:21 BST 16 September

    Northants 89-0 v Derbyshire 372

The Northants opener moves to 50 runs from 116 balls.

His skipper Luke Procter is also unbeaten on 30 at the other end.

The duo safely saw out ten overs last night and have moved things along nicely today.
