Gus Atkinson has been relentless with his accuracy here at a good pace this morning. He has hit a good line and length with 60% of his deliveries at an average speed of 87 mph. In no opening spell of any Test match (of 4 overs or more) in his career has he been more accurate than this morning.

If Pakistan want any chance of this going into tomorrow, these two are going to have to play until lunch.

Ben Duckett is among the more animated slip fielders. Three times he jumps up with his hands in the air as Gus Atkinson challenges Shan Masood's edge.

Mid-over, Masood strides down for a stern word with Saud Shakeel at the non-striker's. Don't think he's happy with the calling.

Robinson gets his reward with one of the fuller balls he has bowled this morning. On average his length has been 7m today, over 50cm shorter than in the first innings. He also hasn’t been challenging the stumps nearly as much, with just 9% of balls on a stump line compared to 17% in the first innings

That's beautiful bowling from Ollie Robinson. He found the length and neatly held in the second slip there. Abdullah Shafique just going in a little heavy there, got it wrong after a dogged defence, he's gone.

    Pakistan will suffer.

Good smart catch by Harry Brook, Ollie Robinson has got Shafique again. He was looking secure.

Thinking of the Ashes, next year and a likely hot summer apparently, does the talk of the need for a high-class spinner become even greater? If so, surely there needs to be a plan, such as identifying three or four candidates and putting them through intensive coaching now?

There's been a combined 14 bowleds and lbws in the first two innings, which is the highest figure in a Test in England since 1963 and the joint highest since 1964.

Lovely timing and placement from Shan Masood, twice dispatching Ollie Robinson to the rope - one square, the other through the covers. Dot, dot, four x2.

This partnership is up to 33 (49), with Masood on 26 (33) and Abdullah Shafique on 11 (20).

The fight is on. This partnership has got to work, and for a very long time. Pakistan are up against it.

If they can survive the next 20 minutes, it will be great.

Lunch is at 13:15. It's getting very complicated all of this.

We could even see the extra half an hour being taken at the end of the day. That's a lot of extra time for Pakistan to try and force a fourth day.
