    Sharp work from Jamie Smith behind the stumps, diving and sticking out a big right paw to stop a rapid delivery from Jofra Archer. That drifted right across the left-handed Shan Masood.

    Masood and Abdullah Shafique trade singles to finish to over. Pakistan's deficit is an even 200.

    Surprised by the Smith criticisms. He has been a highlight for me in this Test, his keeping in the first innings was excellent, far better than it’s ever been. Props as well to Sarah Taylor who has clearly had a massive influence.

    That is the 10th catch taken at leg slip under Joe Root's captaincy, more than under any other England skipper since 2006.

    Virat Kohli is the only other Test captain to have seen more catches taken at leg-slip (20 catches) in the same time frame.

    Shan Masood, so familiar with Headingley having spent two seasons at Yorkshire, is yet to settle. Ollie Robinson has beaten his outside edge a couple of times, getting the ball to jag off the surface.

    Masood averages just under 25 against right-arm pace from over the wicket, compared to 37 from round the wicket.

    Jamie Smith averages 39 batting mostly at seven and whilst I understand since the Ashes he's struggled, how many number sevens are averaging more? His keeping has looked a lot better this summer too. Been up to the stumps this game and done well.
