  1. Hants 97-4 v Yorks 173

    There is a mix-up going for a single after Tom Prest, on 31, pushes the ball back towards the bowler Ben Coad and sets off for a single.

    Coad tries to throw a boot in the ball's way and it goes under his foot but is picked up by mid-off who hurls the ball back in as the batter turns and tries to regain his ground.

    Prest is 15 yards down the wicket but turns and runs back right down in line with the striker's stumps and the ball hits him on the back of the leg.

    Yorkshire appeal to the umpires for what they think was a deliberate obstruction (he would not have made it home) but after a bit of discussion the game continues.

    Probably the right call as he can't have done that deliberately.

    KENT ALL OUT FOR 350

    Milnes b Higgins 32 (Middlesex v Kent 350 all out)

    Matt Milnes drives Ryan Higgins handsomely for four to bring up the 350 and Kent's third batting point.

    But his innings ends on 32, when he walks across his stumps and tries to paddle-sweep it.

    The end result is a simple bowled for Higgins, who looks a tad bemused by Milnes' decision making.

    Anyway, the innings is over and Toby Roland-Jones leaves Middlesex off after his 5-71.

    Zaib b Walkden 3 (Lancashire v Northants 92-5)

    Great stuff from Ben Walkden as coming round the wicket to left-hander Saif Zaib, he gets through the batter's rather airy-fairy drive.

    That's a third for Walkden on debut, who recently was playing for Newton-le-Willows.

    He could be the biggest thing to come out of Newton-le-Willows since Rick Astley!

    Scriven c Ingram b Toole 15 (Leics 151 all out v Glamorgan)

    Tom Scriven is hit on the glove by a rising delivery and is caught low at slip by Colin Ingram.

    That gives Ray Toole three wickets on his Glamorgan debut.

    The pitch has looked two-paced and Glamorgan know batting won't be easy when they get in shortly.

    Leics 151-9 v Glamorgan

    Tom Scriven turns one round his pads to the boundary to take Leicestershire to a landmark that looked some way off at the start of the day when they resumed on 113-7.

  6. Five-wicket haul for Toby Roland-Jones

    Parkinson c Cracknell b Roland-Jones 0 (Middlesex v Kent 344-9)

    The evergreen Toby Roland-Jones does the business again for Middlesex.

    On the money and Matt Parkinson obliges by nicking it behind.

    It's the 36th time in first-class cricket that the 38-year-old has bagged a five-fer as he remains a potent force in red-ball cricket.

    Lovely delivery from Nick Potts and Alex Lees drives and edges behind.

    110 overs up at Taunton and neither side can force an extra point.

    James Rew still there on 47 for Somerset as he eases Shane Snater off the back foot backward of point for his eighth four.

    The flurry of wickets continues around the grounds!

    A second in quick succession at Old Trafford as Tom Bailey offers a bit of width and Luke Procter drives uppishly straight to point.

    The respite was brief for Sussex as they lose another wicket.

    Henry Crocombe drove, edged and whipped three boundaries but falls, driving again and he nicks Olly Hannon-Dalby behind.

    Essex also need to find two quick wickets for another point - and here's one of them.

    Shane Snater skids a full ball into Lewis Gregory, who totally misjudges the length and is caught in the crease bang in front of all three.

    The definition of catching practice, normally seen about half 10 every morning.

    Aman Rao dangles the bat and effectively guides into the hands of first slip.

    Yes, it was that simple and a fourth wicket of the innings for Ben Allison.

    Ekansh Singh carefully tries to leave one that darts back in from Toby Roland-Jones but it brushes the top of the pad.

    It misses the stumps but the decision is LBW as the pad effectively lifts it over the bails.

    Boorman c Lategan b Swanepoel 60 (Glos 133-8 v Worcs)

    Tommy Boorman's resistance is ended.

    After finding uneven bounce to get rid of Ed Middleton, Beyers Swanepoel gets extra lift to unsettle Boorman, who can only guide it aerially to gully.

    But from 28-4, he has played a good hand for his side.

  15. Hants 93-4 v Yorks 173

    Tom Prest lifts Dom Bess for four over wide mid-off as this pair continue to build a decent partnership.

    Nick Gubbins and Prest have added 33 this morning on a pitch which was misbehaving last night but has seemingly returned with better manners this morning.

    Hants felt that one partnership could tilt this game their way and this one is looking as likely as any to do just that.

    Lancashire strike and it's a second first-class wicket in his first over of the morning for Ben Walkden.

    He's on the money, trapping Nathan McSweeney in front and he now has figures of 2-8 on debut.

  17. Somerset 380-7 v Essex

    Somerset are trying to find another partnership after the loss of two early wickets.

    Lewis Gregory is there on 10 with James Rew, who has 41, and the pair have a chance to provide another bonus point.

    They need another 19 in three overs.

    Patel b Toole 12 (Leics 136-9 v Glamorgan)

    Ajaz Patel wasn't gong to die wondering. He drove at everything and managed three impressive boundaries.

    He also missed a few and was eventually bowled by his New Zealand compatriot Ray Toole.

    A second wicket for Toole who's joined Glamorgan for the rest of the season after playing club cricket in Lincolnshire.

    50 up for Surrey

    Surrey 51-2 v Nottinghamshire 184

    Although they've lost Matt Fisher it's been a decent start for Surrey this morning in what still look like testing batting conditions.

    Rory Burns has managed to produce some good shots on his way to 33.

    Fisher's LBW dismissal, by the way, was the first in the match not to be caught.

    All 10 of Notts' batters and Surrey's Dom Sibley fell to catches on day one.
