    We have just seen the first bowling of slow left-armer Noman Ali in county cricket.

    He has signed for Lancashire for these last six games of the season.

    Noman will hope to do better than his Pakistan team-mates seem to be faring over the Pennines at Headingley this week.

    Max Holden goes on the hook but it comes off the gloves and goes behind but it seems to go through the gloves of wicketkeeper Chris Benjamin and it runs down for four.

    Man alive do Sussex need a comeback with the ball and here's a start as Fynn Hudson-Prentice is full and straight and too quick for Zen Malik, who walks forward in the shot and is caught plumb lbw on the crease.

    They call it "Bang-Bang", a wicket followed quickly by another.

    Ollie Pope has gone for a five-ball duck, edging Olly Stone to Jack Haynes who takes the catch at third slip.

    Two wickets in the over and three in the innings for Stone. Notts are right back in the match.

    Migael Pretorius is playing an excellent final hand here for Somerset.

    Three sweeps for four off Simon Harmer, two of them reverse, are followed by a textbook back-foot punch to put Shane Snater to the point fence.

    Handy bonus runs for the hosts.

    Absolutely stunning catch from Tawanda Muyeye!

    Sam Robson plays forward to Matt Milnes and it's a wide edge towards second and third slip.

    Muyeye takes off from third and takes a brilliant one-handed effort with his left and the Middlesex opener is gone.

    That was travelling at some speed, so it's a super grab.

    After batting so well that's a cheap dismissal for Rory Burns which has him shaking his head as he walks off.

    He slaps Olly Stone to third where Dillon Pennington turns to his left to take a good catch.

    It's the first ball of Stone's over and comes after Adam Thomas was dropped off a regulation slip chance by Freddie McCann from the last ball of a Brett Hutton over.

    Ben Stokes is looking to turn this into the leg side but is through the shot a little early and pops a leading edge back to Anuj Dal who makes no mistake taking the ball in his follow-through.

    A good little cameo from the former England Test skipper who departs having made 53 in 60 balls and leaves Durham in a healthier position than they were at 107-3 when he arrived.

    Adam Lyth has the breakthrough Yorks needed, drawing Nick Gubbins forward and finding the edge with one which leaves him.

    George Hill takes the catch at slip and the game tilts back level.

    I'm sure many Leicestershire fans might fume at a low first innings total, and therefore no batting bonus points, in what feels like a vital game.

    To boost their survival hopes, they would have viewed Glamorgan's visit as a winnable game.

    But some context is needed. Firstly, this is clearly a pitch full of life - it's two-tone element with a green middle and shaven ends has caused uneven pace and bounce.

    But Glamorgan played wonderfully - bowing with accuracy and relentlessness. Timm van der Gugten, Andy Gorvin and Ray Toole in particular constantly varied their line and lengths, and got the ball hooping both ways. It was an excellent team performance, with real variety among their three main pacemen.

    Bar a comical run out, and maybe some Rehan Ahmed looseness, no dismissals were silly.

    I noted that yesterday's match report started with the words 'title contenders Glamorgan' - it may sound a tad loony on the face of it, but from what I can see, this is a team playing great four-day cricket.

    Weirder things have happened.

    Ben Stokes drives with a thick edge through gully for four off Anuj Dal to get within a run. And now he has his half-century with a fine edge through the slip cordon to the rope.

    That is 53 in 56 balls and has contained 11 fours. Not in the mood for running much this morning.

    Surrey 75-2 v Nottinghamshire 184

    Notts' bowlers have restricted Surrey's run scoring of late but haven't been able to make a breakthrough since the early dismissal of Matt Fisher.

    Rory Burns and Adam Thomas have accumulated enough runs to bring up the 50 partnership.

    Notts managed only one of those in their innings and that was ended on 56 so Surrey are well placed in a low scoring game.

  15. Derbys v Durham 168-4

    That was a cracker as Ben Stokes drops on to one knee to smash Nick Potts through cover for four.

    And now he bullies another one to the rope.

    The Durham all-rounder moves on to 44 from 51 balls and is looking in the mood.

    SUSSEX ALL OUT FOR 156

    Hunt c Davies b Booth 10 (Warks v Sussex 156)

    Jaydev Unadkat swung two sixes to give Sussex a few more runs but they're all done now as Sean Hunt pokes the bat outside off and edges Michael Booth low to the wicketkeeper.

    A shocking morning for Sussex, who resumed 99-3, lost 5-1 in three overs, and have now been rolled for just 156.

    But plenty was happening off this pitch, so we'll see how the Bears go with the bat.

    A difficult chance for Notts wicket keeper Kyle Verreynne diving in front of slip as he gets a glove to the ball just above the ground but can't hold on.

    It wouldn't have carried to slip so Verreynne was right to go for it.

    Adam Thomas survives on 21.

    He'll have to do it without Jack Leach, who becomes a fourth wicket for Sam Cook.

    Cook is full from round the wicket and Leach, trying to flick to leg, gets a big leading edge that loops to mid-off.

    After a poor Test debut earlier in the summer, it could be a while before we see James Rew back in an England shirt.

    But all he can do is keep the runs coming in county cricket and here he is again with another milestone.

    A half-century in 89 balls with eight fours.

    Can he squeeze out a few more with the lower order?
