    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 10-0

Paul Walter is struggling for fluency with just one run off 14 balls - and Ben Cliff, in his third over - angles a ball across him for a drive and miss.

The fifth ball however is leg side and nudged away for two runs - the first runs Ben Cliff has conceded in his spell.

  2. Postpublished at 15:01 BST 9 September

    Durham 252 & 57-0 v Middlesex 203

Durham openers Ben McKinney (30*) and Alex Lees (25*) have started well to push the home side's advantage over 100 runs already.

No joy yet for the Middlesex bowlers.

    Mahmud c Madsen b Andersson 4 (Derbys 300 v Kent 182-9)

Kent almost done as Hasan Mahmud becomes a second wicket for Martin Andersson.

He tries to force a back-of-a-length ball outside off that climbs on him slightly and gets a thick outside edge that’s well held at first slip.

Looks like Kent doing their best to avoid promotion

  4. Postpublished at 14:59 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 8-0

Jack White continues to cause problems.

Dean Elgar is squared up trying to defend at times but also gets a straight drive away down the ground for four.

Arav Shetty chops Daz Ahmed away for a single as he and George Balderson bring up a 50 partnership for Lancashire, having come together at 43-6.

Balderson ends the over by driving through backward point for his eighth boundary - he moves to 35 not out off 30 balls.

  6. Postpublished at 14:57 BST 9 September

    Sussex 211-4 v Surrey

John Simpson defends a little off an outside edge into the off side to see out the over from Dan Worrall.

Leg spinner Rahul Chahar is into the second over of his spell and Charlie Tear gets a single off the third ball.

A full toss is hammered down the ground and a sliding stop by mid on keeps it to a single.

Charlie Tear moves on to 71 with two through cover.

  7. Postpublished at 14:56 BST 9 September

    Glamorgan 69 v Warks 378-9

Number 11 Olly Hannon-Dalby clips Ben Kellaway to the mid-wicket boundary. Warwickshire inch closer to the 400 target they need to reach within the next 15 overs for a fourth batting point.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:53 BST 9 September

    Singh c Madsen b Andersson 16 (Derbys 300 v Kent 174-8)

Ekansh Singh got himself to 16 but then drives far too loosely at a Martin Andersson delivery that’s not full enough outside off and sends a thick edge straight to first slip.

  9. Postpublished at 14:53 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 4-0

Jack White cuts one into Dean Elgar and a big LBW shout is turned down.

He's bowling round the wicket, angling it in - perhaps not quite straightening enough on that occasion.

Pressure is on here, with three slips and a gully in place.

  10. Sussex pass 200 at Hovepublished at 14:50 BST 9 September

    Sussex 204-4 v Surrey

Charlie Tear takes Sussex to 200 in the 53rd over with a flick to leg on the back foot, facing Mahipal Lomror.

Four runs to John Simpson, driving the spinner to long off, beating his outstretched hand.

    Mayes c Hay b Sheat 1 (Notts 377 v Hampshire 167-6)

Fraser Sheat now has two wickets at Trent Bridge!

Ben Mayes takes on the short ball bouncer but feathers it and it's a leg side strangle.

It was going down leg side and Mayes wanted to have a swing at it but only ends up edging it behind to wicketkeeper Mitch Hay who follows it across behind the stumps.

  12. Postpublished at 14:47 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 4-0

Dean Elgar is off the mark third ball with three driven into cover off Jack White.

Paul Walter defends down the ground and then tucks his next ball away leg side for one.

Ben Cliff gets a bit of shape away from the bat of Walter in the next over - a maiden.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Jake Lehmannpublished at 14:47 BST 9 September

    Notts 377 v Hampshire 163-5

Jack Lehmann reaches 50 in 88 balls with seven fours.

It felt like those seven fours came very early after his arrival when he was punishing anything on offer to him with a boundary.

He has since settled down and is playing a fine knock which is proving vital to his side.

That's his eighth half-century of the season - one of which has been converted to a century - and his total of 858 runs puts him third in the Division One run-scoring standings, behind only Joe Clarke and Tom Abell.

  14. wicket

    Bamber c Kellaway b Hamza 0 (Glamorgan 69 v Warks 371-9)

All of a sudden it looks like Warwickshire might have to settle for three batting bonus points.

Ethan Bamber drives a wide one from Mir Hamza but straight to Ben Kellaway who hangs onto the catch at point - and registers a second-ball duck.

Olly Hannon-Dalby comes out at number 11 and his job now is to try and back up Kai Smith while he tries to push the total at least as far as 400.

Glamorgan have all three bowling points.

  15. Postpublished at 14:42 BST 9 September

    Lancs 84-6 v Glos 212

George Balderson has decided to meet the crisis with positive batting.

Three fours in an over off JT Langridge, the last one edged between slips and gully, carry him to 30 not out from only 22 balls faced.

  16. First Trent Bridge wicket for Sheatpublished at 14:41 BST 9 September

    Notts 377 v Hampshire 163-5

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

A first Notts wicket at Trent Bridge for Fraser Sheat.

He’s had to wait a while for it. He didn’t get any last week against Leics and this is his ninth over in this innings. He got one a couple of weeks ago at Edgbaston on debut and he’ll feel a little happier now.

Brown went really hard at it and it just came off a square cut top edge and went very quickly to Liam Patterson-White with safe hands, good catch.

  17. Essex batting at Headingleypublished at 14:40 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 0-0

The left-handed South African opener Dean Elgar will face Jack White first up.

Paul Walter is at the other end.

  18. Postpublished at 14:39 BST 9 September

    Sussex 198-4 v Surrey

John Simpson is off the mark first ball with two against Lomror and he gets a four in the next over, tucking Dan Worrall away in front of square on the leg side.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:37 BST 9 September

    Hull b Ball 0 (Leics 130-9 v Somerset)

A 24-ball duck for Josh Hull. No rescue act this week from the tailender after his 97 at Trent Bridge.

Jake Ball is full and straight and Hull drives all over it to lose his middle and off poles.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:36 BST 9 September

    Suthar c Carlson b Kellaway 370-8 (Glamorgan 69 v Warks 370-8)

Ben Kellaway claims a third wicket as Manav Suthar is caught at cover by Kiran Carlson. The batsman looks pretty furious with himself, but his soft dismissal brings 'man of the moment' Ethan Bamber to the crease.
