  1. Tea at Old Traffordpublished at 15:36 BST 9 September

    Lancashire 130-8 v Gloucestershire 212

    Will WilliamsImage source, Shutterstock

Lancashire lost their eighth wicket two overs before tea at Old Trafford as Arav Shetty's inside edge was caught by wicketkeeper James Bracey.

Shetty (31) is another victime for former Red Rose seamer Will Williams, who now has 4-20 from 13 overs bowled.

Gloucestershire lead by 82 but the first-innings deficit looked like being much larger when Lancashire were 43-6 before Shetty and George Balderson 39) put on 66 for the seventh wicket.

  2. 50 runs

50 for Ben McKinneypublished at 15:36 BST 9 September

    Durham 252 & 93-1 v Middlesex 203

Better news for Durham's other opener after the loss of Alex Lees as Ben McKinney reaches a half-century in 70 balls.

He's struck eight fours in that total and is closing in on 800 runs for the season.

  3. Somerset bat againpublished at 15:34 BST 9 September

    Leics v Somerset 2-0 lead by 208

Somerset decide not to enforce the follow-on despite a lead of 206.

So much time left in the game and they will hope to bat Leicestershire into submission now.

The wicket you’d think though will only get better from here.

  4. Tea at Hovepublished at 15:34 BST 9 September

    Sussex 255-4 v Surrey

A very satisfying session for Sussex - with Charlie Tear on a career best 83 not out.

John Simpson has 43. Time for a cuppa.

  5. 200 runs

up for Kentpublished at 15:33 BST 9 September

    Derbys 300 v Kent 204-9

Grant Stewart backs away and then flays Ben Aitchison over point for four to bring the 200 up.

Kent still facing a big deficit but have at least got it down into double figures.

Still surely too much to ask this final pair to get them to a batting point.

  6. wicket

WICKET AND TEApublished at 15:32 BST 9 September

    Westley b Kuldeep 0 - Yorkshire 390 v Essex 15-2

Two down! Kuldeep Yadav strikes again!

Flighted, straight, dipping into middle stump and turning to hit off.

Absolute poetry in motion from the wrist spinner.

    Too good for Tom Westley.

    Calamity for Essex.

    Back in 20 minutes.

  7. Postpublished at 15:31 BST 9 September

    Sussex 251-4 v Surrey

Full Tom Lawes and John Simpson drives through cover for four.

Four more from a shorter ball, pulled square.

The Sussex 250 arrives in the last ball of the 69th over, two more runs to Simpson driving through wide mid off.

He's on 41 and the partnership with Charlie Tear is worth 61.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:31 BST 9 September

    Lees b Higgins 37 (Durham 252 & 86-1 v Middlesex 203)

The Durham skipper had been motoring along nicely but is clean bowled by Ryan Higgins who darts one under the bat to beat Alex Lees all ends up.

He has given his side a great start in their second innings though with their lead up to almost 150.

  9. 50 runs

for James Salespublished at 15:30 BST 9 September

    Worcs 200 v Northants 233-5

Just one slip in place as Tom Taylor runs up to bowl and he gets his fingertips to a thick edge by James Sales, but can't stop it running away for four runs, carrying the Northants batter to 50 off 81 balls.

Sales edges again from the next delivery and this time it is much closer to Ben Allison who takes the catch moving to his left.

He departs for 52 and that will be tea - with Saif Zaib still there at the other end on 110 not out.

  10. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:29 BST 9 September

    Notts 377 v Hampshire 190-6 - Hampshire trail by 187 runs

    Jake LehmannImage source, Getty Images

Jake Lehmann is the key for both sides here at tea.

As long as he sticks around Hampshire will be able to keep adding runs to their total but if Notts get him out that would be a huge boost to the hosts.

Lehmann is on 72 not out at the interval with Scott Currie playing a good supporting role with a watchful five from 46 balls.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:25 BST 9 September

    Walter LBW b Kuldeep 4 - Yorkshire 390 v Essex 15-1

Very frugal from Ben Coad, who has figures of 5-3-7-0.

Left arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav joins the attack in the 11th over.

A beauty gets a play and a miss from Paul Walter, trying to work it away to leg.

    Two slips in.

A bit of turn, striking low on the back pad in front of the stumps. Out!

    Captain Tom Westley is in.

  12. Glamorgan seek 'some batting confidence'published at 15:24 BST 9 September

    Glamorgan 69 v Warwickshire 391

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

It’s been yet another consistent batting performance from Warwickshire who have been light on centuries but high on overall performance this season.

Sam Hain looked set for three figures before he edged Mason Crane to slip, while Ed Barnard fell just after his half-century hoicking Kiran Carlson to mid-wicket.

Chris Woakes’s cameo for 23 was halted by Timm van der Gugten with the new ball, and the Bears fell short of a fourth batting point.

Glamorgan must now begin the marathon task of trying to salvage either the game or some individual batting confidence after a horrendous few weeks.

  13. Postpublished at 15:20 BST 9 September

    Sussex 234-4 v Surrey

Was that half a chance to forward short leg?

John Simpson (on 29) strikes it very firmly - and that has gone into the shin pads.

  14. Postpublished at 15:18 BST 9 September

    Sussex 234-4 v Surrey

This is quite a shift from Charlie Tear, who is on his highest ever first class score after more than three hours of batting.

He's up on his toes facing Tom Lawes, pushing the ball through extra cover.

Ryan Patel saves the boundary and that's two runs.

Tear has 77 off 180 balls.

  15. Division Two updatepublished at 15:17 BST 9 September

Saif Zaib has completed his second Championship hundred of the season for Northants, reaching three figures off 137 balls with a lofted on-drive for four off Usama Mir at New Road.

The visitors are now 222-4 against Worcestershire, with Zaib's partner James Sales now on 43 not out.

The partnership between George Balderson and Arav Shetty has been broken by Gloucestershire at Old Trafford, with the former caught off Daz Ahmed for 39.

Shetty is still there on 30 not out and Lancashire are 111-7 in the 33rd over.

  16. Postpublished at 15:12 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 10-0

Ben Cliff continues from the Kirkstall Lane End.

Wide of the off stump and that's another loose play and miss from the left-handed opener Paul Walter.

The over ends with another lay and miss, this time off a straighter delivery with Walter trying to defend.

  17. wicket

Leicestershire all outpublished at 15:11 BST 9 September

    Patel c Lammonby b Leach 26 (Leics 157 v Somerset 363)

Ajaz Patel had played nicely for his 26 but goes to slog sweep Jack Leach and is caught at deep midwicket.

Leicestershire all done for 157. Quite a competitive score considering Somerset lost 10 for 182.

But their opening stand of 181 is the big difference between the sides and probably a match-winning stand.

Zero batting points for Leicestershire in their battle against relegation.

They take tea at Grace Road.

  18. Postpublished at 15:08 BST 9 September

    Sussex 222-4 v Surrey

Leg side from Dan Worrall and the ball runs away via the pad of John Simpson for four leg byes.

A sweet drive to backward point brings two more runs.

He'll keep the strike with a single to mid-wicket.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:07 BST 9 September

    Hannon-Dalby lbw Carne 7 (Glamorgan 69 v Warks 391)

Warwickshire will feel they have left at least one bonus point out there.

Olly Hannon-Dalby tries to sweep Mason Crane and is leg-before, bringing Warwickshire's first innings to an end and leaving partner Kai Smith unbeaten just one run short of a half-century.

The Bears were 370-7 at one stage, just 30 short of a fourth batting point, but Glamorgan worked their way through the lower order despite the efforts of 21-year-old Smith.

Warwickshire lead by 322 and will feel very confident that they can go into the final two games of the season on the back of another victory.

Tea will be taken before play resumes.

  20. 100 runs

100 partnership for Northantspublished at 15:06 BST 9 September

    Worcs 200 v Northants 200-4

A looping full toss from Usama Mir is pounded down the ground for six by James Sales.

And Sales brings up a 100 stand with Saif Zaib in the next over, by Adam Finch off his hip for a single.

Sales is 39 not out and Zaib is on 90. The scores are level.
