    Benkenstein LBW b Bess 10 - Yorkshire 390 v Essex 66-5

Dom Bess comes on in place of Jack White and strikes with the first ball of his spell.

It's a beauty. Luc Benkenstein is foxed trying to work the ball to leg, misses and is hit on the knee roll in front of middle.

The bell rings for George Bell.

  3. Postpublished at 17:19 BST 9 September

    Sussex 331-8 v Surrey

Spin at both ends now as Mahipal Lomror returns to the attack.

Ari Karvelas is forward to defend up the pitch.

A short leg comes in for Rahul Chahar and Sean Hunt gets a single into the leg side safely.

Single to Karvelas and a miscued pull is stopped by Tom Lawes at mid on for another single.

Is that caught behind? No. The ball spins past the edge and goes straight through to the keeper.

    Crane b Barnard 0 (Glam 69 & 65-7 v Warks 391)

Airy shot by Mason Crane who is bowled through the gate by Ed Barnard.

Glamorgan might manage to scrape past their first-innings total but that's not going to be any kind of consolation after a confidence-free batting effort in this innings - and the entire match.

Barnard now has 4-13 as Timm van der Gugten comes to the crease.

  5. Postpublished at 17:17 BST 9 September

    Glam 69 & 65-6 v Warks 391

Manav Suthar finds sharp turn with his left-arm spin, but the ball flies past the edge of Chris Cooke's bat and keeper Kai Smith and away for four byes.

  6. Postpublished at 17:15 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 62-4

Essex are starting to pick up a little momentum here as Dean Elgar picks up four more with a well-executed late push through cover point off Jack White.

Luc Benkenstein is beaten outside off by Kuldeep Yadav, who is into his 12th successive over.

  7. Postpublished at 17:13 BST 9 September

    Sussex 324-8 v Surrey

A slip and silly mid off are in for spinner Rahul Chahar.

Sean Hunt is forward to a googly, pushing a single via the inside edge into mid-wicket for a single.

Ari Karvelas looks a little ill at ease, beaten outside the off stump - and then has to dig out a ball that keeps unusually low.

  8. Northamptonshire all outpublished at 17:11 BST 9 September

    Worcestershire 200 v Northamptonshire 289

Only one batting point for promotion hopefuls Northants as Ben Allison brings their first innings to an end with two wickets from successive balls and finishes with 3-44 to his credit.

Lewis McManus goes for 30 as he hooks a short one to Dan Lategan at long leg and Yuzi Chahal edges the next delivery to second slip.

It's a useful lead but nowhere near as big as it looked like being when they were 233-4 just before tea.

  9. Postpublished at 17:10 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 55-4

Four runs to Luc Benkenstein, back and across to Kuldeep Yadav to flay through the off side.

Just shy of 14 overs of resistance with Dean Elgar.

  10. 50s for Thomas and Lammonbypublished at 17:10 BST 9 September

    Leics v Somerset - 104-0 lead by 310

A thick edge of Ajaz Patel for two brings Tom Lammonby a half-century in 70 balls.

Josh Thomas soon follows with a top-edged pull over the wicketkeeper for a 69-ball fifty.

100 up and nothing stopping Somerset it seems.

    Dickson lbw Barnard 4 (Glam 69 & 59-6 v Warks 391)

    Quite incredible.

This is by no means an unplayable pitch but Sean Dickson pushes forward in defence down the wrong line and falls lbw.

Ed Barnard has 3-12 from four and a bit overs and the Bears are now fully intent on getting the job done tonight.

  12. Postpublished at 17:08 BST 9 September

    Glam 69 & 57-5 v Warks 391

Glamorgan reach 50 as Chris Cooke forces Olly Hannon-Dalby away backward of point for four.

OHD is too full with his next one and Cooke strokes it past mid-on for another boundary.

There are 23 overs remaining of day two - at 4.50pm - and if the light holds. The floodlights have just come on.

The scheduled close is meant to be 5.37pm, which they will miss by a long chalk. They went off yesterday at 6.50pm!

Amazingly the over rate is level, which I find astonishing because the game is crawling along at the moment. We have just had a ball change as well, which doesn't help.

As far as Durham are concerned they are nearing a 200 lead over Middlesex and have only lost one second innings wicket so far.

Ben McKinney and Will Rhodes have added 57 runs. Durham are 140-1 and lead by 189. McKinney has 75 and Rhodes 25

  14. Women's One-Day Cup updatepublished at 17:04 BST 9 September

    Carson LBW b Chahar 19 - Sussex 321-8 v Surrey

That's a third in the innings for Rahul Chahar - who once again celebrates with a superbly executed bow, stooping from the waist.

Jack Carson is stuck on the crease, squared up and struck on the pad in front of off stump.

Sean Hunt is in at 10 for Sussex.

  16. Hampshire bag a bonus pointpublished at 17:03 BST 9 September

    Notts 377 v Hampshire 251-6

Hampshire do get their first batting bonus point in the bag.

Lehmann (108*) and Currie (30*) are closing in on a 100 partnership now.

  17. Postpublished at 17:03 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 390 v Essex 51-4

Dean Elgar is behind the line of the ball from Jack White, defending back up the pitch.

He's faced more than 90 deliveries for his 20 runs and bringing all his experience to bear under huge scoreboard pressure.

Wide of off stump and a rare four is guided by Elgar through deep third. He's on 24 and Essex pass 50 in the 30th over. tough oging.

  19. Postpublished at 17:00 BST 9 September

    Leics v Somerset - 84-0 lead by 290

This game is already skipping well away from Leicestershire.

20 overs into the Somerset second innings and the visitors are barrelling along at over four-an-over.

Josh Thomas and Tom Lammonby, who shared 181 in the first innings, are at it again.

Lammonby glances Ben Mike to fine leg for four before Thomas drives a thick outside edge though where third slip would have been. Next ball a perfect on drive finds four more.

Just nowhere near enough discipline with the ball from Leicestershire, who are looking a doomed side.

  20. wicket

    Bracey c Hurst b Stanley 13 (Lancs 134 v Glos 212 & 43-5)

James Bracey is very close to 1,000 runs for the season but he's not going to reach that milestone in this game.

Mitch Stanley finds a little bit of movement away from the left-hander's bat and he is caught behind by Matty Hurst.

From looking like a team with nowhere to go, Lancashire have now given themselves an opportunity to win this game.
