    Lancs v Glos 171-7

Daz Ahmed runs a ball from James Anderson down to third man for four as he and Sai Kishore post a 50 stand at Old Trafford.

The partnership comes to an end in the next over as George Balderson produces an excellent delivery to flatten Kishore's off stump - his fourth wickets in the innings.

    Sussex 16-0 v Surrey

Two slips in for Dan Worrall and Surrey captain Rory Burns moves into silly mid off, to use an old fashioned term.

An LBW shout is turned down for height but a fine delivery even so from Worrall, nipping back just a tad short of a length.

Another LBW shout turned down by umpire Nigel Llong.

Nipping back too much perhaps. Maiden over.

  3. 50 runs

50 partnership for Warwickshirepublished at 10:51 BST 9 September

    Glamorgan 69 v Warks 179-3

Sam Hain strokes a ball from Usama Mir to the cover boundary and then adds a couple of bring up a 50 partnership off 63 balls with Vansh Jani, who got away with an edge a few moments ago which flew just wide of the slips off Timm van der Gugten.

WICKETpublished at 10:50 BST 9 September

    Crawley c Reece b Aitchison 6 (Derbys 300 v Kent 21-2)

An early wicket for Derbyshire as Ben Aitchinson removes Zak Crawley.

He’s looking to work a length ball angled in to leg but it straightens and takes the shoulder of his crooked bat to point.

  5. Postpublished at 10:47 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 251-6 v Essex

A pause in play here as one of the ground staff is adding a bit of sawdust to the crease.

Zaman Akhter is ready to bowl now but his first delivery is too full and wide of leg stump to trouble Dom Bess.

Much better now from Akhter, drawing Bess forward and beating him outside off.

The over ends with Bess swinging and missing from the crease outside the off stump. Maiden.

  6. wicket

Somerset all outpublished at 10:46 BST 9 September

Rew lbw Gilchrist 61 (Leics v Somerset 363)

James Rew pulled another poor ball from Nathan Gilchrist for four before the bowler gets his man and Somerset are all done.

Rew tried to slog sweep a full ball, missed and was plumb lbw.

10-182 is a decent return for Leicestershire - unfortunately for them they allowed a 181 opening stand.

    Somerset will be very pleased.

What have the Foxes got with the bat?

  7. Postpublished at 10:44 BST 9 September

    Durham 252 v Middlesex 74-2

Nathan Fernandes and Max Holden continue for Middlesex against Durham at Chester-le-Street.

Only four runs added to the overnight total as the hosts keep things tight.

  8. Postpublished at 10:43 BST 9 September

    Glamorgan 69 v Warks 165-3

First boundary of the day at Sophia Gardens as Vansh Jani hammers a wide ball from Timm van der Gugten away through the covers.

Warwickshire are very excited by this young man's potential - let's see what he can produce today.

  9. Postpublished at 10:43 BST 9 September

    Sussex 16-0 v Surrey

George Thomas is off to a fine start and picks up his third four with a lovely straight drive down the ground off Dan Worrall, one delivery after being beaten outside the off stump.

A bit of width from Matt Fisher in the next over and Tom Haines smashes that behind square on the off side for four. He's off the mark.

He's also just broken his bat and waits for a replacement to be brought on to the field.

  10. First batting point for Yorkshirepublished at 10:40 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 250-6 v Essex

A steady start for Yorkshire, who are facing the pace of Zaman Akhter at one end and Matt Critchley's leg spin at the other.

Nonetheless, the Tykes pick up a batting bonus point within three overs of the resumption - as Dom Bess nudges Akhter into the leg side for one to bring up the 250 in 72.1 overs.

  11. Postpublished at 10:40 BST 9 September

    Leics v Som 359-9

With James Rew there, Somerset have a chance of adding a few more against the old ball this morning.

Rew has proved very adept at working with the tail and strikes the first boundary of the morning as he pulls Nathan Gilchrist to the backward-square fence.

  12. Postpublished at 10:38 BST 9 September

    Sussex 8-0 v Surrey

Not a great start for Dan Worrall. A bit too full a length.

Worrall's second and third balls both disappear for fours, the latter via a flashing drive through cover by George Thomas.

Matt Fisher (6-25 in the last round v his former county Yorkshire) will open the bowling at the Cromwell Road End.

Tom Haines is forward, defending into the on side.

The fourth ball is a bit leg side and clipped square, stopped by Rahul Chahar. Maiden over.

  13. Division Two updatepublished at 10:37 BST 9 September

An early setback for third-placed Northamptonshire at New Road as Ricardo Vasconcelos falls lbw to Worcestershire paceman Tom Taylor's third ball of the day. The visitors are 16-1 in the ninth over.

    Organ c Hay b Stone 6 (Notts 377 v Hampshire 12-1)

    First ball of the morning!

No time to waste for Olly Stone as he dismisses Felix Organ for six with his first delivery.

Organ tries to block it out but gets a thin edge behind to wicketkeeper Mitch Hay.

What a start for Notts and Olly Stone who is bang on the money early on.

I cannot believe that Felix Organ has been given out there - clearly has hit the back hip rather than the outside edge. Weak umpiring giving into the appeal like that.

  15. Play begins at Hovepublished at 10:32 BST 9 September

    Sussex 0-0 v Surrey

    After a rain-ruined day one, we're underway!

Here comes George Thomas and Tom Haines to open the Sussex innings.

Dan Worrall will bowl the first ball of the match to Thomas.

  16. Postpublished at 10:31 BST 9 September

    Glamorgan 69 v Warks 154-3

So how big a lead can Warwickshire build in their first innings?

There are certainly not enough 'demons' in the pitch to explain Glamorgan's way below par batting effort yesterday.

Sam Hain resumes on 25 not out for the Bears, and Vansh Jani has 12, with Timm van der Gugten to bowl the opening over.

"They'll expect Glamorgan to put up a better fight in the second innings, so they'll want as big a lead as possible," says BBC CWR commentator Clive Eakin.

  17. Day 2 begins at Headingleypublished at 10:30 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 241-6 v Essex

Dom Bess will face the first ball of the day - bowled by Zaman Akhter.

Expect extended sessions of play today after time lost to rain on Day One.
