Jake Lehmann releases some of the pressure by cracking consecutive fours.

    Geddes c Ackermann b Raine 11 (Durham 252 v Middlesex 136-5)

How often do we see this? Two batters looking fairly well set and then both depart in quick succession.

Shortly after Fernandes trudged back to the changing rooms then he is joined by Ben Geddes.

A first wicket for Ben Raine who ties up Geddes who can't get his bat in the right position and edges it straight to Ackermann who has taken four catches in the innings.

Two new batters now for Middlesex in Ryan Higgins and Harry Duke.

  8. Division Two updatepublished at 12:12 BST 9 September

Poor start for Lancashire, replying to Gloucestershire's 212 all out, with Matty Hurst edging a good one from JT Langridge to the keeper. The home side are 6-1 in the third over of their reply.

Northants are now 72-3 in the 31st against Worcestershire at New Road. George Bartlett has now joined Saif Zaib, who is 10 not out.

    Ahmed c Rew b Ball 23 (Leics 53-4 v Somerset 363)

And now Jake Ball removes Rehan Ahmed and Leicestershire are in trouble.

A flat-footed drive to a full, wide delivery and he gets a thin edge off the toe of the ball that just carries to James Rew.

    Poor dismissal.

    Foreman lbw b Aitchison 49 (Derbys 300 v Kent 93-4)

Bertie Foreman falls just shy of his half-century.

He goes to pull a ball from Ben Aitchinson that’s a touch short but keeps a little low and skids into his front pad.

It doesn’t look like he got outside the line and he’s on his way.

    Derbyshire right on top now.

  11. wicket

    Shaikh b Overton 6 (Leics 53-3 v Somerset 363

Hamza Shaikh is bowledImage source, Shutterstock

A third wicket stand of 31 was getting Leicestershire moving but now Craig Overton strikes.

Hamza Shaikh plays too far away from his front pad to a full length ball that shapes back a fraction and gets an inside edge into his stumps.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:10 BST 9 September

    Fernandes b Rhodes 27 (Durham 252 v Middlesex 131-4)

Will Rhodes gives this one a little bit more airtime and it arrows into the stumps on its descent to clean bowl Nathan Fernandes who completely misjudges the line.

He can't be pleased with how we played that one.

  13. Postpublished at 12:09 BST 9 September

    Glamorgan 69 v Warks 250-4

Ed Barnard tries to glance a ball from Jamie McIlroy, but the ball only touches pad as it runs away for four leg byes.

Warwickshire have their first batting bonus point.

  14. Postpublished at 12:08 BST 9 September

    Notts 377 v Hampshire 75-3

Notts really are turning up the heat on Hampshire now.

Plenty of oohs and ahhs from the fielders as the bowlers pepper Joe Weatherley and Jake Lehmann, looking for another wicket while their tails are up.

Can they see off this barrage and make it to lunch?

  15. Postpublished at 12:08 BST 9 September

    Sussex 82-2 v Surrey

Mahipal Lomror completes his sixth over. 0-18 off six so far with good control albeit not much help for turn from the pitch at this stage.

Matt Fisher is into his seventh over and Charile Tear pushes the ball away off the back foot for three.

Four runs to Oli Carter, who gets a thick outside edge steering to deep third.

Carter punches through cover point and Mahipal Lomror chases it to the boundary and keeps it to three.

Three more to cover point - this time from Charlie Tear.

More work for Lomror in the field.

    13 runs off the over.

    Glamorgan 69 v Warks 245-4

Mir Hamza steams in, but Sam Hain steers the ball with some comfort down to third man for four as he and Ed Barnard post a 50 stand from 86 balls.

No alarms of late and Glamorgan desperately need another breakthrough before the lunch interval.

As a Yorkshireman I am loathe to say this as he is the glue holding our side together, but Dom Bess really is contributing in all aspects of the game on a constant basis - surely worthy of England consideration when discussing a spinning option?

    Boris, Yorkshire

Looks like Bashir is the spin man as far as England are concerned, Boris.

Really poor from the ECB pulling Cook out last week, hindering Essex, when they clearly had no intention of picking Cook

  18. Tykes reach 300 at Headingleypublished at 12:00 BST 9 September

    Yorkshire 300-7 v Essex

A half volley outside off is played to point by Kuldeep Yadav for one.

One more to Dom Bess square on the off side.

Shane Snater gets a ball to fly off the shoulder of Kuldeep's bat, safely over slip and down to deep third for four to bring up the 300 and a second batting point.

Not intended from Kuldeep, who was trying to defend - but precious runs nonetheless.

  19. Latest from New Roadpublished at 11:59 BST 9 September

Worcestershire have their third wicket at New Road with Luke Procter edging Mattew Waite to third slip, where Jake Libby took a good low catch, moving to his left.

One brings two and Notts are on the charge!

Dillon Pennington gets a full one to nip back in and trap Nick Gubbins lbw.

That's two wickets without a run being added.

Toby Albert (31) and Nick Gubbins (35) had looked like they had weathered the storm this morning, fending off some fine bowling but both are now gone in the blink of an eye.

Middlesex in a bit of trouble now with two new batters at the crease in Jake Lehmann and Joe Weatherley.
