There's only been two teams in a three-match series that have been bowled out six times for under 200 and they were both in the 19th century. The 1888 Australians and South Africa in 1895-96.

Ooo. You not see it in a textbook but this a decent shot from Muhammad Abbas. He steps to leg slightly and guides a wider ball from Josh Tongue down to third man.

This is the second-longest partnership of the innings which tells you a lot.

I have a horrible feeling Pat Cummins might be playing the role of William the Conqueror and his Norman army.

It looks like Mohammad Ali is going to continue. He's padded himself back up. He could do with some 1066-style protection while facing Tongue and Archer.

Mohammad Ali is still down and spray is being put on the area. He might have to bowl in a short while and it sums up Pakistan's situation if Ali can't bowl for them.

Matt & Peter, I believe we are undefeated at home since 1066, unless you count the time when we had two teams representing us at the same time in the 1642 to 1651 season.

More pain for Pakistan - literally.

Jofra Archer ends his over with a swinging yorker that hits Mohammad Ali on the back ankle. He's hobbling off towards short fine leg.

Ali may be in trouble. Off comes his boot and on comes the physio.

  8. Pak 114-9published at 29 overs

    Abbas 6, Ali 1

Josh Tongue won't have many better chances to wrap up a five-for but fails to find the timbers in this over. Abbas' defence is not up to much.

Jofra Archer is coming back on at the other end. I doubt there'll be as much front-foot swinging as against Robinson in the previous over.

Matt - but the English comprehensively lost the series to a strong Norman touring team later in the season.

Let’s hope the next tour of England doesn’t go the same way as the tour subsequent to the Vikings in 1066…

    Abbas swings and survives again.

We may have started something with our history fans meanwhile...

The one thing you do know as a tailender when you're facing Ollie Robinson is you know where the ball will be, so you can just have a hack at it.

Robinson won't be happy with that.

  12. Pak 111-9published at 27.2 overs

Woooft! Muhammad Abbas clobbers Ollie Robinson through the covers. It's the first boundary Robinson has conceded today.

There might be a bit of frustration in his batters in that shot from Abbas.

England have to make the most of this because just around the corner there is some hard toil. They have South Africa and Australia and there will be tougher times to come.

  14. Pak 107-9published at 27 overs

    Abbas 0, Ali 0

Mohammad Ali grins after missing Tongue's latest. It almost hit off stump too having kept a little low.

There's no fifth wicket for Tongue. Will he get another chance or will Ollie Robinson wrap it up before then?

When everything else has been falling around Shakeel's ears, it's difficult because you really have to be selfish with all these other things going around your head, he's batted well but he's had a beauty from Josh Tongue.

And now Josh Tongue has the chance for a five-for with Mohammad Ali joining Muhammad Abbas.

Bowled him! Knocked one of his stumps out.

Saud Shakeel, who has been the most assured of the Pakistan players so far, goes for 43.

Gone! Saud Shakeel gives a nod of approval to Josh Tongue.

I may have been saying England have bowled one or two bad balls despite the scoreline but this is a beauty. Between bat and pad to hit the top of off stump. That off peg is uprooted from the ground.

Block, block, leave from Muhammad Abbas, who sees out Ollie Robinson's over. A bit of application at least.

The worry for Pakistan is England have not been immaculate today.

Worst performance of a touring side in England since - Harald Hardrada in 1066? Beat the county sides in Northumbria but wiped out and killed by "the English" at the Battle of Stamford Bridge, effectively ending Viking power in Europe forever.

We were trying to avoid the obvious answer, Matt...
