England need to get to at least the 50-mark. That should put them in good stead.

The players are back out for the second half. Hopefully England won't be spooked.

Points are key. They need them to rack up with frequency.

HT: England 24-0 Papua New Guinea

In order to reach the semi-finals, England need to beat PNG and hope Tonga defeat Samoa on Sunday.

That would bring it down to points difference between England and Samoa - and England's is currently 68 points worse than Samoa.

So a win by 68 points tonight would mean any win for Tonga is good enough for England. But if the English don't reach that mark, they need the Tongans to really rack up a score against a Samoan side who reached the World Cup final four years ago.

And at this rate, England will be well short.

A great performance by England. They came out, they were physical in defence and that's where it begins and finishes.

When they carried the ball, the contact and metres after contact have been such a state of fact for England, drawing so much energy out of the opposition. England have done that in bucket-loads.

But where they've fallen down is the finishing touches. When they got it wrong, they got bored of doing it. Against France, they stuck to the system, the process. I promise that's what Brian McDermott is saying now. You're trying to score points without gaining the right to do so.

The quality difference between the top teams (NZ & Aus) and the rest of the teams is massive. Having watched the NRL all season, I feel like some of the club teams there would have a good chance against most international sides in the tournament.

England are winning, but not by enough.

They will need around 40 points in the second half to be happy here.

All those points in first 20 great. Second 20 too many mistakes. Going to need a big second half.

This is what I'm talking about with England letting Papua New Guinea off the hook. They've made them go sideline to sideline, there's space in the middle of the park. The play was on but the execution was poor.

White line fever is setting in for England.

They have the space and numbers to play it out to the left, but Morgan Knowles rushes on the overlap and the ball is knocked on three yards from home.

It was 22-0 after 22 minutes, England have failed to add any more points in the last 15 or so.

You can see why they cut the number of teams. England have made a ridiculously large number of stupid errors, and are still on track for the 60-odd points they need. Tournament could just be Tonga, Samoa, England, Australia and New Zealand.
