PNG want the win which would put England out of their misery.

Dudley Dotoi breaks over but AJ Brimson - one of the only England players to come out of this with credit - holds him up.

This England side don’t deserve to qualify for the semi finals. They had PNG where they wanted them after 20 minutes, then started going away from the game plan, made mistakes and gave PNG confidence.

As it stands, England need Tonga to beat Samoa by 56 points.

    That will not happen.

England were so dominant in the first half. They were putting pressure on Papua New Guinea when they were defending. Now it's the opposite. Where have PNG got this energy from? They must have been saving it for the second half.

This feels like a slow, painful death for England at this World Cup.

A tackle in the air from Matty Ashton gives PNG a penalty near the try line.

    Oh my word.

Jez Litten with one of the worst passes tonight, PNG have a massive chance to break but Gairo Voro cannot quite grab it.

PNG may even feel they can get a result here.

That stray arm gives England a jump-start that they will welcome. They've been pressurised and pinned down.

Harry Smith takes a risk with a chipped kick on the third tackle near the England try line.

It pays off, but Herbie Farnworth is denied the chance to break by a nasty high tackle.

Should have been a sin-bin, but PNG get away with it.

Poor discipline costing the English again! Two games they think they're the big boys and twice they're being humbled again! Poor attitude towards this World Cup!

The sting has gone from England. We've seen 10 minutes of the Kumuls throwing everything they've got at England.

It will be interesting to see when Brian McDermott thinks about getting that starting front row of Luke Thompson and Max King back on.

The Kumuls are always going to have their say. The passion they play with, they will never go away. England wanted them to come out and throw the towel in. It's not what Papua New Guinea are about.

They're playing with intensity, doing good numbers, Voro gets the opportunity, sniffs half a gap and takes it on.

England don't need to pass their way out of trouble. They've got powerful enough players to cause havoc in the middle of the park with strong carries. That's what we talk about with earning the right. You do the tough stuff first before passing the ball.

    Gairo Voro (50 mins)

    PNG smell blood.

Robbie Darby nearly jinks through on the right, but while England get away with that one they concede another set to the Kumuls.

And PNG take full advantage as they go back the other way and Gairo Voro powers through.

Converted, and England's half time lead has been cut in half.
