Viktor Hovland is looking to become just the third player to win multiple FedEx Cups, after Rory McIlroy (2016, 2019 and 2022) and Tiger Woods (2007 and 2009).

The Norwegian, winner in 2023, when he was ranked as high as fourth in the world, slipped outside the top 30 earlier this year.

But he seems to be rediscovering his form and is now back up to 15th.

Scottie Scheffler and Chris Gotterup are deep in conversation as they stride onto the second green.

We've all been there, on top of the world and happy to chat to anyone after hitting a shot like that.

Gotterup's tee shot is pin-high, 25 feet to the right of the hole. Decent by most standards! He trundles his birdie putt to within three feet. Another par.

Oh my. An absolute laser of a tee shot by Scottie Scheffler on the par-three second. His ball lands on the front of the green and releases up to the hole... rolling... rolling... tracking right on line... drifts an inch right at the death.

I think, while he's walking up to blow that in the hole, we can mark him down for a birdie two.

The world number one is in the mood for this.

Cam Young had a birdie putt from 10 feet on the opening hole and couldn't make it. So of course he now drains a 32 footer on the second for the birdie he probably thought he should have had a little earlier.

Rory McIlroy is way short of the hole on the par-three second and takes two with his flatstick.

Ludvig Aberg and Adam Scott both strike the ball so beautifully and both get under way with decent tee shots that'll give them the chance to find the dance floor with their approaches.

Scottie Scheffler fires his second on the first out of the cabbage and he muscles his ball up to the front edge of the green but it's not stopping there.

The ball kicks off into a dell to the left. But he clips a beautiful wedge into a foot for simple tap-in par.

The TV director is not as interested in showing us Chris Gotterup's journey down the first. But he's holed a three-footer for par after finding the green in two.

Rory McIlroy has had a shocker. Splash straight out of the sand but then scooting across and over the green at the first. His recovery chip carries him in to around a foot but it'll be a bogey start for the three-time Fedex Cup winner.

Not a huge amount of surprise that there's been a lot of focus on world number one and 2024 FedEx Cup champion Scottie Scheffler today.

But that's not a great start from the American who, for the fourth successive round, leaks his opening drive into the rough down the right.

Not as much chat about his playing partner Chris Gotterup but the New Jersey native, who won the Scottish Open in 2025, has three wins on the PGA Tour this season so knows how to get over the line.

He's away with a fairway finder off the tee.

Alex Fitzpatrick is one of six debuntants at the season-ending Tour Championship and he is going along nicely.

The Englishman dropped a shot on the opening hole but has recovered with a birdie courtesy of a 41-foot putt on the fifth. And now on the six he plays a little wedge into three feet and rolls in another birdie.

At the moment he is one stroke ahead of his older brother Matt.

Adam Scott is looking for his 15th success on the PGA Tour in his 444th start, having laste tasted that winning feeling in 2020.

Could he become the oldest winner of the FedExCup, later today. The Australian, 46, is aiming to surpass Vijay Singh, who was 45 when he triumphed in 2008.

And here's a little quirk...

The last time the Tour Championship was contested before the FedEx Cup was conceived, Scott was the champion in 2006.

Rory McIlroy and Cameron Young are both in the fairway after negotiating a tee shot over the pond at the first on what is arguably the hardest hole on the course.

But the Northern Irishman then finds the right greenside bunker with his approach. Cam Young makes no mistake with his iron on to the putting surface and will have a look at a birdie from inside 10 feet.

The reigning Fedex Cup champion is Tommy Fleetwood.

However, the Englishman is well out of the picture this time around.

Starting the fourth round at seven under he has already dropped two shots in the opening four holes.

Good evening, it's hot and humid in Atlanta and the big question is can anyone catch Norway's Viktor Hovland?

Well, we know Rory McIlroy will give it a go don't we after he rocketed into contention on Saturday with a seven-under 63 although he starts his final round five shots off the lead.

However, Hovland is very much in the box seat in the final round of the PGA Tour season and as he looks for his second Fedex Cup title after winning his first in 2023.

Debutant Ryan Gerard is a stroke back, while Adam Scott, Ludvig Aberg and world number one Scottie Scheffler are starting three back in the chase for a winner's cheque of a smidgen under £7.4m.
