  1. CLOSE!published at 20:12 BST 1 September

    Birmingham 0-0 Southampton

Big let-off for Blues as they almost gift Southampton a calamitous opener.

Cristoph Klarer and keeper James Beadle try to play it out from the back but the defender's pass back to his No1 from the left-back position is missed by Beadle with the ball running across the face of goal with the lurking Finn Azaz unable to capitalise.

  2. Bielica unlucky for Derby openerpublished at 20:11 BST 1 September

    Portsmouth 0-1 Derby

    Dan George
BBC Sport England at Fratton Park

Portsmouth goalkeeper Daniel Bielica seemed to be a tad unlucky there as Sam Szmodics somehow slipped the ball past him for the Derby opener.

He was a late inclusion to the Pompey side this evening, coming in as a bit of a surprise replacement for Nicolas Schmid.

Portsmouth haven't started badly and have knocked it around well at times but there does seem to be some frustration around me when they lose the ball high up so far.

The Derby fans have travelled well, packing out their allocation in the Milton End to my right, and enjoyed that one.

  3. 'West Ham look vulnerable when attacked'published at 20:09 BST 1 September

    West Ham 0-0 Wolves

This looks like a bottom third Premier League game. It doesn't feel like a top-of-the-table Championship occasion at the moment.

West Ham probably look a little vulnerable when attacked.

  4. Postpublished at 20:08 BST 1 September

    Stoke 0-0 Norwich

It's the visitors who have started the brighter at the Bet365, with Million Manhoef starting for the Potters in place of the absent, and potentially Hull-bound Sorba Thomas who has been so crucial to Stoke's attacking play in recent seasons.

  5. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:08 BST 1 September

    Preston 0-1 Bristol City

    The home side pushing now.

Chelsea loanee Caleb Wiley heads against the post from close range as they search for a leveller.

  6. Postpublished at 20:07 BST 1 September

    Preston 0-1 Bristol City

Sam Tickle in the Bristol City goal is forced into a decent save from Jordan Thompson's free-kick.

  7. goal

GOAL: Portsmouth 0-1 Derbypublished at 20:05 BST 1 September

    Sam Szmodics (16 mins)

Sam Szmodics returns to the starting line-up and rewards manager John Eustace with the opener at Portsmouth, firing a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner, squeezing home Bobby Clark's pull-back.

Derby needed that after Saturday's heavy defeat at home by Swansea as they search for a first win of the campaign.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:03 BST 1 September

    Swansea 1-0 Watford

Watford have been under the cosh at Swansea but the Hornets show they possess a threat from set-pieces, captain Matty Pollock forcing Swansea keeper Lawrence Vigouroux into a fine diving save to stop his bullet header from a corner.

  9. 'I'm looking forward to how Schlotterbeck settles'published at 20:03 BST 1 September

    Birmingham 0-0 Southampton

    Jo Tessem
Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio Solent

What we saw from Southampton on Saturday was good.

Keven Schlotterbeck's positioning against Millwall was fantastic from crosses into the box. I'm looking forward to how he's going to settle into this team.

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:00 BST 1 September

Two games kick-off at 20:00 BST

As if it wasn't lively enough, we have the games at Birmingham and Stoke entering the fray.

  11. Postpublished at 20:00 BST 1 September

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Bolton

Great goal-line clearance from Chris Forino stops Patrick Bamford from putting the home side in front.

The one-time England man will want that one back.

  12. Swans impressing early onpublished at 19:58 BST 1 September

    Swansea 1-0 Watford

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

This is a very impressive opening spell from Swansea.

Vitor Matos' team are playing with intensity and confidence after a bright start to the season and the home crowd are responding.

Watford have not been in the game as yet.

  13. Saints try to keep run going at Bluespublished at 19:57 BST 1 September

    Birmingham v Southampton (20:00 BST)

Back-to-back wins have lifted Southampton out of the red after their four-point penalty but they face a tough test to continue that momentum at a Blues side who remain unbeaten across their opening three matches.

Saints tonked Millwall 5-1 on Saturday, having beaten Stoke the previous week following their nightmare start on the road at Watford, where they lost 2-1.

Blues salvaged a point in their opening home game against Bristol City with a contentious stoppage-time penalty but, after a stalemate at Sheffield United on the opening day, made it four points from two on the road with a 2-1 victory at Wrexham last Friday.

Blues have taken just two points from the past six meetings, last beating Saints under Alex McLeish in 2009 but Saints have taken five points from their past three visits to St Andrew's.

Tonda Eckert's men also have a stellar record on the road under the lights, taking 31 points from their past 13 midweek away games.

Can they keep the run going to continue their climb up the table?

  14. Postpublished at 19:57 BST 1 September

    Lincoln 0-0 Blackburn

Nothing doing in the opening minutes of this one.

  15. Postpublished at 19:56 BST 1 September

    West Ham 0-0 Wolves

A couple of forays forward from West Ham but neither Jarrod Bowen nor Joel Piroe can trouble keeper Jose Sa.

We're back to Wolves on the attack as Fer Lopez threads through for Mateus Mane whose angled effort from the left is blocked behind by Kyle Walker-Peters.

    Crucial intervention that.

  16. Postpublished at 19:55 BST 1 September

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Bolton

ALL-action in the opening stages of this one.

Blades striker Patrick Bamford curls an effort just over the bar as the home side look to turn this one its head inside the opening 10 minutes.

Eom Ji-sung taps in at the back post after being expertly found by a low centre from Adam Idah.

    Watford don't know what's hit them - it's one-way traffic at Swansea.

  18. Potters seek to stop the rot as Canaries callpublished at 19:53 BST 1 September

    Stoke v Norwich (20:00 BST)

    This will be interesting.

Stoke have endured a pretty torrid start to the campaign, losing all three league matches, shipping nine goals in total, and have now lost seven in a row dating back to last season, ramping up the pressure on boss Mark Robins.

Much was expected of Norwich this year after their impressive turnaround under Philippe Clement last season - the Canaries' season was a near mirror of the Potters - but they had lost their opening two matches before thumping Burnley 4-1 at the weekend after a blistering start.

They also have a fine record against Stoke, taking 22 points from the past 10 league encounters before ending that run with a 2-0 success in their last meeting in January.

Stoke are winless in their past six clashes at the Bet365 and Robins has only beaten the Canaries once in 12 attempts as a manager with Barnsley, Coventry and the Potters, earning just six points in total.

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:52 BST 1 September

    Swansea 0-0 Watford

There was applause from all sides of the ground here before kick off as Swansea marked the passing of Kenny Jackett - who managed the Swans and Watford - with a tribute to their former boss.

It's the Swans that have started on the front foot, with an early shot from outside the box from Adam Idah providing a comfortable save for Watford stopper Federico Ravaglia.

There is then chaos in the Watford box as Marko Stamenic meets a corner and heads against the post from a yard out before a free-kick is awarded to Watford following the resulting scramble.

  20. Postpublished at 19:52 BST 1 September

    West Ham 0-0 Wolves

It's been pretty much all Wolves in the opening moments but Fer Lopez has seen an angled low strike claimed by Mads Hermansen, who also cannoned a clearance kick into the back of Mateus Mane, getting a stroke of luck as it looped away from goal.
