James Garner strikes well round the wall and Antonin Kinsky does well to paw it away, it dropped awkwardly.

Re. Kev, I think we'll get GTA 7 before Spurs get a goal, let alone 6.

    Tom, Poole

Maybe another £350 million might buy a goal?

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall holds off Mateus Fernandes but the Spurs man is all over him and the referee decides it's worth a free-kick for Everton.

    Oh dear.

Andy Robertson and Omar Marmoush try to get something going down the left but the latter strikes the ball out wide while off balance and it's horribly looped out of play.

The Spurs fans are beginning to get frustrated. They've seen that Everton are going to stand firm.

  6. Spurs continue to dominatepublished at 18:11 BST 12 September

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Spurs are in complete control but are struggling to make the breakthrough despite having so much possession. Everton simply cannot get hold of the ball for any period of time. It's a tough old time for Thierno Barry up there on his own. They cannot apply any sustained pressure.

    Bit frustrating for Spurs, though.

Good strong goalkeeping from Jordan Pickford after Andy Robertson controls the ball well but his deflected cross could drop anywhere.

I'm not going to lie it's been a fairly dull half.

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

Jan Paul van Hecke has completed 100% of his passes so far (56/56).

But a few groans are starting to creep in from the home supporters as they will their side to find the back of the net.

That earlier movement from Robertson, busting a gut to get there. It's a cutback towards the penalty spot that's required of him and would've created a better chance.

  11. 'Pickford got caught out a little'published at 18:06 BST 12 September

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea and Fulham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think Jordan Pickford maybe got caught out a little bit. I don't think he thought that ball was going to be so close to him. Throws out a big left foot and does well. It clears the danger.

Tottenham get forward and it results in a classic Andy Robertson square ball across the box but Jordan Pickford saves.

A wry smile from the England goalkeeper, he's seen all that before in the Merseyside derby.

Just as I said that I thought Savio was about to prove me wrong but his pull-back for Archie Gray is cut out and Everton get on the counter attack.

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

Well after that dominant 10-minute period, Spurs have not done a great deal.

They do seem to be lacking an outlet massively.

  17. 'Tonali's ball is unbelievable'published at 17:59 BST 12 September

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea and Fulham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Sandro Tonali's ball is unbelievable. It's perfectly weighted over the top of the Everton defence. As Archie Gray is running through it lands right on his foot, but he just can't get the control.

As a Spurs fan, I am sad to say that what we have is a neat, tidy team with absolutely zero goal threat. The lack of urgency to get shots away is staggering.

Brilliant defending from James Garner. His well-timed tackle takes the ball off the toes of Archie Gray.

Spurs have a corner but Jordan Pickford punches away before Mateus Fernandes bops one over the bar.
