    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

Jordan Pickford's ball out from the back is sloppy and James Maddison is onto it. He finds Lucas Bergvall in space and the youngster's bending strike is turned around the post by Pickford.

    Redemption for that mistake.

Everton punching well above their weight with a very small squad. Very impressive, and they haven't spent the megabucks that Spurs have.

One genuine effort on target in two games for Spurs.

Cries of despair from the terraces every time they pass the ball backwards.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 86 mins

A final roll of the dice for Roberto de Zerbi.

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea and Fulham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

My worry is you're relying on Jan Paul van Hecke for a lot of deliveries in the box. Your centre half, you've got all this creativity on the team and van Hecke is almost like their play maker.

This has been no thriller and Everton have got issues of their own when it comes to going forward.

But what a defensive display this has been from the Toffees - defending a point away from home.

Savio is fouled by James Garner in the middle of the park and he goes into the book for it.

Spurs have the same issue as Liverpool. Too much change all at once. Man City, Klopp's Liverpool and Arsenal built slowly over several years making micro-improvements every year. That way they knew exactly what they needed next. Spurs have tried to do the whole rebuild at once and hoped that it works.

Into the last 10 minutes as unbeaten Everton continue to dig in.

Jarrad Branthwaite blocks from Mohammed Kudus. Spurs continue to pass, pass, pass but the end product remains absent.

Nicely worked by Spurs, building across the pitch to Sandro Tonali and he gets a shot away but it's blocked.

The ball comes back in and they win a corner off Savio.

Big cheers from the home supporters, they are desperate to see their side score here.

Everton have been bossing it these last 10 minutes. The substitutions for Spurs haven't really worked at all.

  15. 'Massive chance'published at 19:06 BST 12 September

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea and Fulham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Massive chance, absolutely huge. You can see there it's a brilliant cross from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, really good.

He knows exactly where Brennan Johnson is, he opens up his body and with an open foot he kind of slides across the ball and it goes out high and right of the goal

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 78 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

That is Brennan Johnson's last action of the match. He's replaced by Hayden Hackney.

Also on is Jake O'Brien for Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

And for Spurs, big cheers as James Maddison replaces Omar Marmoush.

In response to Kurt - I don't know what you mean about there being something rotten and I don't think a relegation would have improved things - unless you are an Arsenal supporter!

Brennan Johnson is usually a good finisher, but he should have done better. He's hardly been in the game, but what a chance that was.

You sense there might be more some more opportunities for Everton in the later stages of this game as Tottenham commit more men forward.

  19. Postpublished at 76 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    A huge opportunity for Everton.

The ball comes to Brennan Johnson just inside the area and he tries to open his body up but his effort blasts over the bar. He should have done better with that.

We're at the point where one goal could win this and that could well have been it.

  20. Postpublished at 74 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

Sandro Tonali makes a clearance inside the 18-yard box and it hits Micky van de Ven on the way out.

Everton fans want a penalty, they think it touched his arm. Nothing given.
