Re: Dylan at 17:40. Captains have to speak to the referee so you can't really give a keeper the armband anymore. Iraola said Alisson is a vice-captain but won't actually serve as captain in a game.

Decent stuff from Lewis Koumas there to round Lukas Jungwirth but the angle is incredibly tight for a shot.

He does well to win a corner, though.

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola speaking to TNT Sport before kick-off on trusting young players: "For me Trey [Nyoni], [Lewis] Koumas and Rio [Ngumoha] are young players coming in from the academy but they are first team players.

"They are first team players because we trust them, and in our situation, where we have some injuries, and we come from playing three days ago. I think they can play well, and I hope they do well."

On what a convincing win would mean: "Confidence, and especially the points, because this is the Champions League and in the Champions League it's very costly, especially away from home, where we have to be ready to play very well. We won the first game, let's win today and put ourselves in a better position."

Van Dijk rested is a surprise but understandable at his age. Mac Allister dropped is sensible given he has to play at weekend with Gravenberch suspended. Biggest shock for me is Ali not being given the armband ahead of Tsimikas.

    Can't beat some supercomputer predictions.

No Austrian team has beaten an English team in European competition since Austria Vienna's 1-0 win over Arsenal in the 1991 European Cup. There have been 34 matches since, with English teams winning 27 of the games.

    No pressure then, Liverpool.

For the very first time, Champions League league phase football is coming to the Raiffeisen Arena and what better opponent for LASK than six-time winners Liverpool.

LASK have never won a game in the Champions League beyond the qualifying stages, but this evening they can cause an almighty upset.

I’m firmly in the ‘drop Wirtz’ camp. He has been given another opportunity. If he cannot perform against LASK (with all due respect) - it’s time to move on.

When Manchester City played their last home game against Sunderland 24 days ago, little did the fans know what was coming.

It has felt like a long time since then, hasn't it?

A three-week international break and a guilty verdict of breaches of the Premier League's financial rules later, here we are.

City have, of course, appealed against the decision but while we wait for the result of that appeal and any possible sanctions, the show must go on.

Remember, the rule breaches are in relation to the Premier League, not the Champions League.

If there was any time for Wirtz to shine it’s now. A Champions League game where I'm sure there will be goals. It’s about time Wirtz started getting on the score sheet.

I can just picture him beating himself up on how his Liverpool thing has started. This kid is a major talent in my opinion. I've seen enough to believe and give him a chance. I think he needs help and support now.
