This stage of the Champions League offers some great match-ups between top teams. But it also offers up complete mis-matches, Liverpool have played well but they won’t get an easier game all season!

I don’t want to be mean to LASK by it’s probably an indicator of your performance level when Frimpong is scoring a header!

He's absolutely buzzing. It's good play from Tsimikas and I don't think at the moment there is a Liverpool player having a bad game in terms of their effectiveness, but Frimpong gets himself on the score sheet.

The smallest man on the pitch has just scored a header!

Kostas Tsimikas digs out a ball from the byline and Jeremie Frimpong, in fairness to him, rises like a salmon and heads into the bottom corner.

LASK look to chip away at this three-goal Liverpool lead and the ball drops to Christoph Lang on the edge of the box.

He strikes it well enough and does have Alisson worried for a moment but it flies the wrong side of the post.

Brilliant from Liverpool in the first half, but the amount of time and space we’ve got compared to the Premier League is night and day.

  12. Team news - Maresca goes strong for PSGpublished at 18:48 BST

Man City v PSG (20:00 BST)

Enzo Maresca makes three changes to the side that beat Liverpool 3-0 on Sunday. But it's still a strong line-up for the hosts.

Matheus Nunes and Nico O'Reilly drop to the bench in defence with Abdukodir Khusanov and Josko Gvardiol coming in.

Jeremy Doku, who came on as a substitute at Anfield and scored immediately, is preferred over Iliman Ndiaye. The Belgian has been recovering from an injury but Maresca gives him the nod to start tonight.

Man City XI: Donnarumma, Khusanov, Dias, Guehi, Gvardiol, Anderson, Fernandez, Semenyo, Cherki, Doku, Haaland.

Subs: Bettinelli, Rulli, Ndiaye, Kovacic, Ait-Nouri, Reis, Nunes, Bouaddi, O'Reilly, Allan, Foden, Lewis.

Araujo has been Liverpool’s second best signing over the last two years (Ekitike being the best). Surely it need to be made permanent now?

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

This game is done and, more than anything, it is now an opportunity for Liverpool's young kids to show what they can do.

It's also a chance for Barcola to get some minutes in his legs and get a bit sharper but Iraola's main thinking now must be to rest his key players for Saturday's game at Brentford.

That's the important one and it's going to be a much bigger test than this. So it's the right thing to do to give Van Dijk a break but I am not sure why Alisson is playing and risking a potential injury.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  17. 'Will be good to see how City do against PSG's quality'published at 18:41 BST

Man City v PSG (20:00 BST)

    Chris Sutton
Former Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Etihad Stadium

PSG are notorious slow starters in the Champions League and seem to get going when it matters. A slow start in Ligue 1, they are fortunate in the fact Luis Enrique can rest a lot of players at the weekend.

I expect him to go strong. The truth is tonight, whoever wins, I don't think it matters for the loser. I think both teams will qualify for the next stage. But nonetheless it will be a good to see a team with PSG's quality go up against Manchester City.

It's more about Man City and how they perform because they have been so good in the Premier League but PSG are the team to beat in Europe.

People will say that it is only LASK and Liverpool fans shouldn't get too excited but that first-half was exactly the response that Andoni Iraola would have wanted for his players after Sunday's defeat to Manchester City.

They've shown plenty of intensity and quality and above all, they have been ruthless in front of goal. That's something we've not seen enough of this season, so far.
