    Harry Boyes (63 mins)

What a turnaround! Ollie Pearce receives the ball inside the box and, understanding his route to goal is blocked, he feeds Harry Boyes, who takes a touch and then fires a left-footed shot back across goal and into the far corner. Great hit from the debutant.

  4. 'Newby punishes Rovers'published at 16:18 BST 15 August

    York 1-1 Bristol Rovers

    Iain Dunn
Former York City winger on BBC Radio York

There is nobody in this stadium that can deny that York deserve that goal.

There was such a good change of pace, it caught Rovers completely off guard and then Newby was there to punish them.

It always felt like a goal was coming.

  5. goal

GOAL: York 1-1 Bristol Roverspublished at 16:16 BST 15 August

    Alex Newby (60 mins)

Finally a breakthrough for the National League champions - and it's a brilliantly taken goal.

Joe Gray gains ground with the ball, with no-one tracking him, and his drilled cross is turned home by Alex Newby, who charges away in celebration.

That's York's first goal in the EFL for a decade.

Cambridge have taken a 3-0 lead against Wigan, through Isaac Heath, who scored from close range.

Doncaster have levelled at 1-1 against Mansfield. Robbie Gotts did some great work to open up the space for Jack Senior, who slotted it past the home side's keeper

  7. 'We can't ask much more from York'published at 16:14 BST 15 August

    York 0-1 Bristol Rovers

    Iain Dunn
Former York City winger on BBC Radio York

Really good signs from York, here. they just need an effort on target to see what happens.

We can't ask much more from their performance at the moment, the goalkeeper just needs to be tested.

  8. Postpublished at 16:14 BST 15 August

    Barnsley 0-0 Bromley

First glimpse of goal for Bromley hot-shot Michael Cheek in League One but he sees his left-footed effort from the left of the area saved by Reds keeper Rogan Ravenhill.

  9. Postpublished at 16:12 BST 15 August

    York 0-1 Bristol Rovers

How are York still behind? Ollie Pearce fires narrowly over after receiving a corner on the edge of the box and then Alex Newby - who came on as a substitute late in the first half - also clears the bar.

  10. 'York are on top'published at 16:10 BST 15 August

    York 0-1 Bristol Rovers

    Iain Dunn
Former York City winger on BBC Radio York

York are on top at the start of this second half. They do have to be a little bit sharper however.

The only thing that worries me is there is a real lack of attacking options on the bench for City.

  11. Postpublished at 16:09 BST 15 August

    York 0-1 Bristol Rovers

Just as in the first half, York are looking secure on the ball - but Bristol Rovers looking the more threatening on the break.

York's Morgan Williams throws himself at a goalbound shot from Shaq Forde after a swift counter.

  12. goal

GOAL: Plymouth 0-3 Stockportpublished at 16:08 BST 15 August

    Game over?

What a goal from debutant Ryan Glover who cuts inside from the right thunders a left-footed effort past Murphy Cooper from the edge of the box and inside the far post.

  13. 'A lot to look forward to in the second half'published at 16:03 BST 15 August

    York 0-1 Bristol Rovers

    Iain Dunn
Former York City winger on BBC Radio York

It was a poor goal to concede. Rovers did also force a good save from McNally but aside from that it has been all York.

There is a lot to look forward to in the second half.

  15. Postpublished at 16:03 BST 15 August

    HT: Huddersfield 2-0 Wimbledon

Huddersfield raced into a 2-0 lead against Wimbledon and had Bali Mumba sent-off all inside the opening half-hour.

Their two goals came from Derensili Sanches Fernandes who is the first Terriers player to score twice in the opening 16 minutes of a league match since Harry Bunn v Blackpool in October 2014.

    HT: York 0-1 Bristol Rovers

    David Ward
    BBC Radio York commentator

York have been the better side so far but they are behind at the break. All the right signs have been there however.

They are going to have to remain patient, they can't lose their head.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:52 BST 15 August

    Barnet 2-0 Salford

Even though Barnet are hoping to be among the promotion chasers this season, this is a scoreline that may raise a few eyebrows given Salford's status as title favourites.

Two of the Bees' new arrivals - Oisin Gallagher, on loan from Lincoln, and Charlie Lakin, signed from Walsall - have struck in the first half.

The next goal, should it come, may be crucial.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 BST 15 August

    Barnsley 0-0 Bromley

    Goalless at Oakwell, somehow.

Both sides have had good chances with Arley Kay going close on several occasions for the hosts, flashing a header wide, being denied by Shamal George and also thumping the crossbar.

The Ravens came closest when Mitch Pinnock was denied clean through by keeper Rogan Ravenhill.

    Second half should be great.
