    Hay lbw b White 7 (Notts 251 & 67-6 v Yorks 179)

It's a real grind out there. Lyndon James drops and runs for a single off Ben Coad before a tumbling stop keeps Mitch Hay to a single to retain the strike.

    He'll wish he hadn't.

Jack White has been on fire this morning and beats the defensive push of Hay and finds Hay's pads. The finger quickly goes up and White has three this morning and figures of 4-11.

Liam Patterson-White comes to the crease with Notts in real trouble. The lead is 139.

    Tattersall c Yates b Woakes 10 (Warks 372 v Leics 125 & 74-5 – Leics trail by 173)

It's that man again! Chris Woakes gets his second wicket of the morning with the safest pair of hands in the slip cordon Rob Yates pouching it.

The Bears are looking confident now.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:09 BST 26 September

    Haines lbw Organ 130 (Hampshire 128 v Sussex 244 & 262-7)

Sussex skipper Tom Haines goes for a brilliant 130 - he cracked Felix Organ for four but two balls later he has to leave the action after being trapped lbw.

Sussex are really accelerating the scoring now keen to move their total along quickly and now they lead by 378.

That is shown by Jack Carson hitting two sixes in three balls.

With a possible top 3 finish (and much needed prize money) at stake, Sussex's Haines should have declared once he got his century. Sussex have lost half an hour to bowl Hampshire out.

    Kent 353 v Glos 229 & 84-4

Slightly too full from Khaled Ahmed and Kamran Dhariwal eases it away square for four runs to get off the mark. Nice shot.

  5. Postpublished at 11:07 BST 26 September

    Glamorgan 505 v Essex 126-8

Sam Cook edges Timm van der Gugten through the three-man Glamorgan slip cordon for four very fortunate runs.

Simon Harmer then glances a single from Ray Toole's first ball of the next over - the South African is 33 not out and playing a lone hand.

  6. Division Two updatepublished at 11:06 BST 26 September

Derbyshire are taking it steady at the start of their attempt to score 333 to beat Worcestershire at New Road - they are 9-0 after five overs.

Still no joy yet for Durham at Old Trafford, with Lancashire 31-0 in the 17th over. Michael Jones is 19 not out and Keaton Jennings has 11.

  7. Postpublished at 11:05 BST 26 September

    Somerset 258-3 v Surrey 422

Tom Lammonby takes successive boundaries and a single from Adam Thomas.

He moves to 121, 12 runs from equalling his highest first class score.

  8. Postpublished at 11:05 BST 26 September

    Warks 372 v Leics 125 & 74-4 – Leics trail by 173

That looked like it was going to be the first boundary of the morning - but not on Olly Hannon-Dalby's watch.

The tall figure comes striding around the pitch and puts in a little slide - not sure it was necessary but why not - to cut it off before it reaches the rope.

Yuzi Chahal plays out a maiden to give his batting partner the chance of a memorable century at Lord's.

And there it is! Saif Zaib will finish the season with a third century of the summer and a 12th career first-class ton.

It's brought up with a chip into the offside for a single and taken 156 balls with three sixes and seven fours.

He is responsible for virtually all of Northamptonshire's 119-run lead and has at least given his side a shot.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:04 BST 26 September

    Boorman c Benjamin b Milnes 21 (Kent 353 v Glos 229 & 80-4)

Both Gloucestershire overnight batters are gone with the score on 80.

Matt Milnes finds a little bit of extra lift and Tommy Boorman edges to the keeper - ending a patient knock of 21 from 85 balls.

The visitors are still 44 behind and there is still no sign of injured James Bracey coming to the crease.

Great to see so many at the St Lawrence today for the promotion push. Huge congratulations to the team on a really positive season. Adam Hollioake has taken time to galvanise this group but it's been a great few months. One last shift boys please!

250 up for Somersetpublished at 11:03 BST 26 September

    Somerset 252-3 v Surrey 422

How much are Surrey going to rue dropping Tom Lammonby this morning?

Up comes the Somerset 250 with Lammonby and Tom Abell looking like they have power to add.

    Somerset 247-3 v Surrey 422

Nice going from messrs Tom Lammonby and Tom Abell.

They trot through for a couple of runs to bring up the 150 partnership.

  13. 6 runs

Postpublished at 10:58 BST 26 September

    Middx 255 v Northants 103 & 270-9

Wil Saif Zaib take the single and keep the strike for the next over?

Nope - he opens the face, targets the shorter offside boundary and bangs Toby Roland-Jones over it for the second six of the over to go to 99.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:57 BST 26 September

    Hammond c Muyeye b Ahmed 42 (Kent 353 v Glos 229 & 80-3)

Kent's bowlers weren't looking "especially menacing", we said. Sorry, Gloucestershire followers.

Miles Hammond shapes the ball to leg but the ball flies off the outside edge and Tawanda Muyeye moves to his right at third slip to take a head-high catch.

First wicket of the innings for Khaled Ahmed.

That might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. A beauty from Woakes, a fantastic delivery. Budinger looked like he could be the man who was capable of turning this game.

It’s a lovely ball angled in towards middle and off. The roar from a good crowd at Edgbaston on day who want to see history and it’s a man who has served the county so well for two decades that makes the breakthrough.

Lancashire are taking no liberties with Brydon Carse.

Just seven runs conceded from his eight overs so far in their first innings - five of them maidens.

    Akhter b Toole 9 (Glamorgan 505 v Essex 118-8)

    Gone!

Zaman Akhter goes for a big expansive drive off Ray Toole, gets an inside edge and the ball clatters into the stumps.

Sam Cook is the penultimate man in to join Simon Harmer.

    Three wickets for Toole now.

  19. dropped catch

    Somerset 241-3 v Surrey 422

    Oh dear.

Ralphie Albert is quickly back into the attack to replace Reece Topley.

He finds the edge of Tom Lammonby's bat and Ollie Pope puts down the catch at slip.

it was straight into the hands and out again.

Saif Zaib is understandably feels he has to have a go and sends a steepler into the legside.

Faulkner backpedals furiously and stretches back to reach the ball but he can't hang on to a difficult chance.

Zafar Gohar then shells a simpler chance in the deep two balls later.

Two lives on 85 for Zaib who dispatches the next Toby Roland-Jones ball for a massive six to move into the 90s.
